004 moved to dodge 007's strike but took the punch and bullet to her shoulder. She collapsed in the snow, clutching her shoulder. She could take a bullet from afar, but point-blank range is where her limit was. If her shoulder wasn't injured before it sure was now. "D-dammit..." The kind of pain she felt now was different than anything she'd felt before. It wasn't like a paper cut or skinned knee or flu shot; it was just different. There was something like a warning going off in her brain telling her to get up and get away -- fight had changed to flight.

Where's he going with this? Wally nervously thought. Would it be stupid to jump up and shut Tim's mouth for him? Yes. So Wally stayed in his seat. The idea of a team of heroes was fascinating though. He found himself imagining ways this hero would work with that hero, or that hero would work with another. The possibilities were amazing. And then his science side surfaced and he started thinking of ways to combine heroes' powers. Superman's many abilities with endless possibilities of the Green Lanterns' --
No. They're gone now... A team won't be formed. Wally clenched his hands into fists, looking straight at Tim. What are you getting at??

Caleigh was about to voice her bold opinion of Sephiroth when the man in the suit next to her spilled his drink. She looked him over again, trying to make a better decision about his character. Was he a Turk? Their uniform [of sorts] wasn't exactly a secret to the general public. Or did he just like suits and white shoes? She decided to play coy and answer his question with a question. "What if I did?"

I've recently been giving some thought to trying another Danny Phantom RP; my reasoning for such an RP is long and emotional. (,: Last time, I had a really good one going but the people who were in either stopped posting or left site and it sadly died.... My idea for the plot for this one is different than my first, but I'm still worried that not many people would join and it would eventually fizzle out and die. ):
I'm still putting together and OOC thread for it.

"SOLDIER is made up of scum who kill for money," Caleigh frowned. "I was thinking of something," she smiled, "much better. AVALANCHE." As a rebel force that was still forming, they could use some more members. "My name's Caleigh, by the way."

"What a great way to start the day," Jack walked up to Taralynn, watching the girl she'd just tormented leave. And that was a perfect example of why he enjoyed Taralynn's company. The other Slytherins in the common room shut their mouths when they saw Jack and Taralynn together. Smart of them. I guess they want to see tomorrow. He placed the orange juice, apple, and bagel he got for Taralynn on the table next to the couch. "You missed breakfast."

    -------

"Professor, I don't understand that," Ben said after nodding his agreement to Layla. "How come it can't be opened with Parseltongue?"

"Our Headmaster is a very talented wizard," Professor Umbry answered. "You see, students, magic is always growing. There are always new spells and potions be developed. Professor Clauson has created and advanced much magic during his time before becoming Headmaster of Hogwarts, as I'm sure you all know. Now, does anyone have a question related to Herbology?"

So she's just some bum girl? Dammit. But if it's money she needs... Caleigh smiled. "Really? This place'll gown on you. The pretty girls like us would rather spend their time in places that aren't as fun as this. Listen, if you and your family are in need of some extra money, I know of something that can help you out."

Caleigh sat down next to Aveline, putting her box of cigarettes back in her pocket. She wasn't sure about the looks of Aveline but here in the slums, anyone could be anyone. With the man in the suit having turned his back, Caleigh took the opportunity to start a conversation herself. "You look a little young to be in here, honey, much less to be smoking. What's your story?"

(: Actually, considering statistics and what's been said by many characters in the books and movies, there probably aren't very many pureblooded wizards or witches at all nowadays. Jack's got his work cut out for him. lol

    Yay! You're back!

    Non-plot-related stuff:
We've got three new characters. Check out their profiles on the first post of either thread; they're all neat. (So every House has five character in it except for Hufflepuff who has 3 and Ravenclaw who has 6.) There's a list of teachers up as well (there are some blank personalities so suggestions are welcome) and I've decided that things will be easiest if I claim the Headmaster.

    Plot-related stuff:
So last time on "The Years to Come," all the students were gathered in the Great Hall after discovering a disturbing message on the doors the night before. The Headmaster gave a speech at breakfast that disappointed all the students because it didn't give them answers. Al got worried at breakfast because one of her friends has gone missing; she left the Great Hall to figure out what's up and bumped into Jack on the way out. She doesn't like Jack. He doesn't like Al. Jack's all happy because his evil plan is going perfectly for him, and he's easily fooled Faye into believing he's a kind upperclassman but he really just wants to use her for his plot. Jack, Faye, and Olivia were planning to skip their first classes and go to the library but Juliet overheard their conversation and put a stop to their skipping classes before it could start. Juliet, Tybalt, Faye, and Olivia have left the Great Hall to go to their classes, but Olivia is still trying to get away so she can ditch her class and go to the library. Faye's upset because Jack didn't bid her farewell; she might even be questioning their friendship now. Meanwhile, new friends, Ben and Layla, have gone to their Herbology class together. Professor Umbry offered that this class would be directed by the students, so Goldom and Ben asked about the Chamber of Secrets. Umbry didn't have the heart to say no to her students so she answered their questions. Ro's forgotten that the Potions classroom is in the dungeons (on the way to the Slytherin common room) and has gotten terribly lost. Jacob had been in the library but didn't find anything he wanted, even after breaking school rules and somehow getting into the Restricted section, so he left and has now run into Faye, Olivia, Tybalt, and Juliet. Jack got breakfast for Taralynn and has brought it to her in the Slytherin common room. And that's what you missed on "The Years to Come!"

@kingdomhearts530: That's 'cause I wasn't thinking. XD We'll just do it this way: If you're character is pureblooded say so. Otherwise, don't worry. ^^

Jack walked at a pace that was just quick enough to not spill the orange juice; it was a tricky thing to do while going down all the stairs that led to Slytherin's common room. As he walked, he mentally listed the names of students he knew for sure weren't pureblooded. He already knew which student was going next: a fourth year Ravenclaw boy who had rather irked him at the last Dueling Club. The filthy, half-blooded boy was terrible at charms and the definition of "disgrace-to-wizardry." Jack couldn't wait to throw the kid into the Chamber -- more entertainment for his pet.
"Flying troll. Hurry up and let me in, you idiot." Jack snapped at the stone wall as it slowly moved aside, revealing the passageway to the common room. Why didn't his House have a painting or statue that took the password? Probably because one of the students would defile it or, even better, blast it to bits. Jack didn't understand how the Ravenclaws dealt with such an obnoxious, riddle-dealing raven.

    -------

"Professor Umbry," A boy student down the table from Ben and Layla spoke up. "I know I'm not the only one who wants to ask this, but I'll be the one who does: Could you tell us anything about what's been going on?"

"I believe you're referring to the doors of the Great Hall and the writing that was on them yesterday, Mister Goldom?" Professor Umbry began, clasping her hands over her chest. She looked at her students and saw that they all wanted an answer. She could not deny them. "I trust you all know how Hogwarts was founded from your History of Magic classes. You know from your families and friends, and you will learn more in later years in History of Magic, about Harry Potter and all he did."

Ben scooted to the edge of his seat, eyes wide with curiosity.

"The staff, including myself, has speculated that," she paused, unsure if she should continue, "This is just a guess on our part... We have no evidence... But some have suggested that the Chamber of Secrets is what the writing on the doors was referring to. It could be other things though. You shouldn't worry yourselves too much just now." Ben raised his hand. "Yes, Benjamin?"

"But if it is open Professor," Ben frowned now. "If the Chamber of Secrets is open, aren't the students in danger? My parents told me that when Harry Potter was here at Hogwarts, students were petrified and the school was almost closed. There was a monster in the Chamber."

"That is all true," Professor Umbry nodded. "But we know the location of the entrance to the Chamber and it is sealed. No magic or Parseltongue will open it."

Ben looked at Layla to see her reaction. Professor Umbry's answer had raised more questions than answers for Ben. He was puzzling even more about what was going on.

Let's see. There's a long (and probably boring to most people) story behind why I RP. My first RP was here on this site in 2007 (and I love it to this day; my username is the name of my character from that RP) and I made a bunch of lovely friends that way. I think I was first entranced by RPing because I had no means to cosplay at the time (I do it a whole lot now though!) and found RPing to be a suitable substitution. From that first RP, I fell head-over-heels in love. It just seems to be the perfect outlet (besides cosplay) for me. I get to write, be with friends, explore worlds and characters (be they original or not) in a whole new light.

Why did I stick with it? Oh gosh, that's a hard one. There was a time when I was totally open with people at my schools about my RPing, and I was criticized very much for it. I was called a nerd, a geek, a loser, ******ed, and all kinds of other things. And it really hurt. But when I got home from those horrible days at school, I would come on here and I'd write my heart out in every RP I was currently in. I'd gush about how upset I was to one of my greatest friends on this site (he's sadly gone now...). RPing made me happy again after being ridiculed. As a graduate now, and still a strong RPer, I wonder how those people who made of me are doing. I know that I've grown in my writing talents from RPing for so many years. Can those bullies say the same?

I enjoy RPing. I enjoy it very much. I love the people I did it with, do it with, and the future people that I will do it with. Writing entrancing stories, getting into character, figuring out the moves of the others that you're RPing with are all great ways to exercise your brain. You get to be creative and analytic, heroic or villainous; and all with friends. So really, I stick with it because I think there'd be a big hole in my heart if I ever stopped.

As for how the plots of things go: I try to work out what my general ideas are with the people who join my RPs (unless I want things to be a surprise for them). When I join other people's RPs, I like to ask questions, give input, and the jazz that will help me out. Of course, there are always those times when things don't go according to plan, when you get a curve ball and you realize it too late to swing the bat in time to hit it. I love those moments. I get frustrated of course, but I still love them. They make me think on my toes and force me to create something new. I even like to be the one throwing the curve balls. It's not often that I plan villains (because they're just so not-me) but when I do, I play them viciously (just look at Jack in my Harry Potter RP). I like to see how others will respond to my twists and tricks.

RPing is a part of my life. It'll be a sad, sad day if I ever stop.

004 raised her arms to take the hit that 007 dealt. She staggered sideways from the force of it; she hadn't fully expected such strength. She thought she heard something her shoulder snap or pop, but she could see no external sign of damage so she ignored it. Quickly, she analyzed her options: if she used her grenades here, would she be risking the safety of the other cyborgs? If she emptied her bullets from her fingers on 007, would it do any good? If she attempted hand-to-hand combat, would she be screwing herself over? She was never a good fist fighter before and didn't expect to magically be now. Grenades it was.
"Is that all? That was rubbish!" She placed her left hand on her left shoulder and raised her elbow to aim at 007. Her elbow swung down like the lid to a canister. "Let me show you how to really damage someone." Three explosive grenades flew towards 007 and landed in the snow at his feet. 004 was still close enough to her enemy to feel the blast from her grenades, but she hoped far enough away to take no damage from them.

Wally West tapped his black-shoe-covered feet on the ground, trying to make a distraction for himself from the black hole that was slowly growing inside him. The events of late had sobered him more than he'd ever been. He had no quips for family, no banter for friends, no pick-up lines for girls. He didn't even know how to cheer himself up at this point. So many heroes... gone. The Flash, his mentor and uncle... gone. Wally's red and yellow striped tie against his white dress shirt and black suit jacket was something only he and his hero friends would understand. Maybe his best friend's words would give him some kind of comfort; he raised his eyes from the ground to look forward at Tim and listen to his speech. And it was a good thing he did because what Tim had just said nearly gave Wally a heart attack.
What was he thinking?! Telling the whole world that Bruce was Batman! Wally wondered if, given the opportunity, he would tell the world that his uncle was the mighty speedster, Flash. No; it would be too easy to come to more conclusions from that. Or at least, it would be for someone of the same intelligence level as himself. After this absurdity ended, he wanted to have a talk alone with Tim.

Jack's hand had gone to his wand at the threat of a duel but released its grip now. He had two more years of spells under his belt than Juliet and four more than Tybalt; he could beat them both easily. He watched the four leave the Great Hall, extremely frustrated that he'd have to wait to manipulate Faye and Olivia any further. He needed more people with him now more than ever; all he had was Taralynn. A smug smile grew of his face. Taralynn was perfectly perfect. Now that his thoughts were on her, he finally noticed that she hadn't shown up for breakfast. He grabbed a glass of orange juice, an apple, and a bagel. Taralynn was probably still sleeping because she, like Jack, had a free period for the first hour. Jack saw no harm in bringing her breakfast. With everything he needed, he finally left the Great Hall and started walking back to the Slytherin common room.

    -------

"Good morning, students," Professor Umbry entered the greenhouse, taking a her place at the front of the class table, and greeted her class. She tapped her wand on the table to bring the class to attention. Quickly, she scanned the students and noticed that Rayna Spare and Jacob Starlit were not yet in their seats. But that was their problem and not hers. "Today we will be having a special class. I apologize for the awkward timing here," she cleared her throat, "but I'm sure you'll enjoy today regardless. Today, I will be answering any appropriate questions you have. And if you'd all like to get your hands on some plants, we can go to the greenhouse next door and see what's there."

Ben smiled. He wanted to go see what plants were in the greenhouse.

"Excuse me," Jack stepped in front of the two first year girls to face Juliet straight on. "Hi there. Name's Jack; fifth year Slytherin. Look, I know you're trying to be all nice by telling these two lovely ladies here what to do, but it's really none of your business." His tone was polite and easy-going. "I happen to be close personal buddies with the Head Boy of Slytherin so if you don't want your House to loose all the points it's got right now, you'll be on your way. And we," he smiled at Faye and Olivia, giving no hint that his friendship with the Head Boy was a lie "are going to the library."

"I'd like that," Ben thought about the possibility of learning about Mandrakes hands-on. "I've read a lot about them but I haven't had the chance yet to see one up close. They're dangerous, you know." He took his seat around the long, tall table that cut through the center of the greenhouse and took the strap of his bag off his shoulder, placing his bag on his lap.
