I hear people say it all the time, but my question is, why forget? one: it's incredibly hard to forget something you want to forget, and two: isen't what you've been through make you who you are, good or bad?

I want to know how many people feel like it is stupid that parents talk to their babies like idiots. The only reason babies talk gibberish is because thats what they have learned from their parents.

So what are your opinions on this?

Okay well, not sure how much of a chance this stands but here it is, the second fanfic i've ever writen:

    The New Misfits

“I leave them with you now, take care of them,†said FireNanaki with a sad look on her face. “But…†Kevz2kool trailed off. Putting her hands of kevz2kool’s shoulders, she whispered “I trust you.†She let he hands slide off, “I’ll be back again.†with that she turned and started down a long road off into the distance

After watching her walk away silently, he sighed and turned to walk the same road in the opposite direction, back to tell the misfits the news. Kevin wondered what he would tell everyone as he stared at the ground, listening to the sound of his own footsteps on the dirt of the road. How would they take the news? Would they believe me when I say I didn’t ask for this to happen? What will Burnitup do? All of these questions and more flashed though his head and he felt like yelling out just to vent out some of his feelings. As he walked he saw a rock, he picked it up and tossed it as far as he could into the field of grass by the road

When he got back Kikame ran up to greet him “hi Kevin†she said cheerfully but then noticed something was wrong “did something happen?†she asked. “Hey Jenn†he replied “help me gather the rest of the misfits, I have something to tell everyoneâ€
“Okay†she said, and dashed off to find whomever she could

Once all of the misfits that they could find had gathered, Kevin greeted them all and then after the whispering died down, he began to tell what happened. “Everyone, I have news for you, Fire will no longer be leading us; she has put me in charge. I have to tell you all though that I did not ask for this to happen, I did not ask to lead the Organization Misfits. However now that she has chosen me to continue to lead us on, I cannot disobey her wishes. I hope you all understand. She said though, that she will be back again, and I trust her words as she trusts me to take care of you all. Now, are there any questions or anything else someone would like to say?â€

The crowd was silent for a minute, taking in what they had just heard, Jenn was the first to speak “I give you my full support and I think you will do well leading us†she said

    hope everyone likes it

    Chapter 1

Sun crept in from the window, onto Leshayas face “not yet” she murmured to herself as she rolled over “Ouch!” she whispered to herself, realizing she must have roller off the bed, how many times has this happened now? She thought to herself, but she didn’t have enough time to figure that out.
“LESHAYA! SORA! BREAKFAST IS READY!” her mom called up the stairs
Leshaya sighed, got up and went down the stairs.

When she got to the kitchen, she found grilled cheese sandwiches waiting for her, and her mom drinking green tea.
“Hi mom” she said as she took a seat and started munching on her favorite breakfast food.
“Good morning Leshaya” her mom replied, “where is your brother?”
Leshaya sighed, her brother Sora was always sleeping in, it was a bad habit of his. “I’ll go get him I suppose,” she said putting down her grilled cheese sandwich and getting out of her seat.
“Oh I almost forgot, there was a package today addressed to you” Said her mom, “after getting Sora and finishing your breakfast you should go get it, I left it on the table by the front door”
“Really a package for me?” asked Leshaya curiously “I wonder what it is” she though out loud, before racing up the stairs to wake her brother.

“Sora…SORA…SORA!!!” yelled Leshaya knocking on her brothers door. After waiting a few seconds she heard shuffling and a mumble, something about it being too early to wake up her brother came to the door
“What is it sis” he said still tired.
“Mom wants you to come down for breakfast” she said “now hurry up or you’ll have to do the dishes” she said, not mentioning it was his turn to wash then anyway, then turned and ran off to finish her sandwich.

“Hey mom, Sora’s coming down” She said after taking her seat again and munching on her sandwich. Once she finished her breakfast, she rinsed off her plate quickly and rushed off to get her package. Sitting on the carpet in the living room, she tore off the wrapping and opened the box to find a pressed blue rose, a butterfly hairpin and, a pendant with an odd marking on it. After examining the three items, she looked at the box again and found it had no return address. Weird. She though to herself, but then dismissed the fact and looked outside. Seems like a nice day out. she thought, the decided it was to nice a day out to spend any longer inside so she went upstairs to her room.

She got dressed into her favorite outfit, a pink shirt with a blue flower on it, jeans that go to her knees and have pink flowers embroidered on them, and blue and pink sandals. She thought for a moment and decided that the pendant she had received was pretty, same with the hairpin, so she clipped her hair in place with the hairpin and put the pendant on. After making sure she looked nice in her mirrior she went down the stairs “ Bye mom, bye Sora” she called as he went out the door.

    Chapter 2

Once outside she took in a deep breath. I love the morning air it’s so crisp and fresh. She thought to herself as she looked around but stopped when she saw a small figure where her brother Sora and his friends normally sit. I wonder who that is. She asked herself, and then partly because she wondered who it was, partly because she had nothing better to do this early, she walked off to find out who this person was.

When she arrived she found it was Kairi, one of her brothers friends. Although her brother and his friends where older, she got along well with Kairi, so she decided to go say hi.

“Who’s there?” called Kairi, who heard Leshaya coming up.
    “Just me Leshaya” said Leshaya
“Oh…” said Kairi distantly, like she was in a far off memory, “hi Leshaya”
“You don’t mind if I sit here do you?” questioned Leshaya “….Kairi?” said Leshaya “Kairi?” she said again.
“Oh! Sorry Leshaya” Kairi said after snapping out of her trance “no I don’t mind”
“Are you sure? I don’t want to disturb you,” Asked Leshaya.
“Oh it’s fine, I was just... remembering something” answered Kairi as a tear rolled down her face
“You're crying, you sure you ok?” questioned Leshaya as she jumped up to take a seat by Kairi.
“Nah, I’m fine,” said Kairi cheerfully as she wiped the tear away “what about you, how are you this morning?”
“I’m-” but someone calling out cut off Leshaya before she could answer.

“Hey Kairi!” called Riku, running up to greet her “now who’s this little pipsqueak? Oh right, you’re Sora’s little sister”
“I have a name you know!” said Leshaya a little mad that he had called her pipsqueak. Riku, although another one of Sora’s friends, she did not get along with at all.
“Well anyway pipsqueak, I have something private to talk to Kairi about, so run along”
“You’re so mean!” she said sticking out her tongue and running off. However, her intentions were not to go find something else to do, they where to find a spot to spy on the two that where left in the tree.

    Chapter 3

Seeing a spot in the bushes Leshaya quietly snuck up to spy on Riku and Kairi who where still by the tree. Darn, I can’t hear them from here. She thought to herself while watching them closely. It seemed like whatever Riku was saying Kairi didn’t agree to. I’ll have to get closer to hear them she thought, a little worried she may get caught. As she snuck closer, she watched as Riku jumped up to take a seat by Kairi. They where still talking and Kairi seemed to still not agree with Riku.

Still can’t hear them. Leshaya though, hoping she wouldn’t have to get much closer. She could already tell her heart was beating faster as she moved closer Riku was moving closer to Kairi and Leshaya could tell Kairi didn’t like that much. Kairi said something and Riku looked hurt. Just a little closer, I can almost hear them she told herself, its was a tight squeeze but she kept crawling forward. She knew it was wrong to spy, but something in her told her she should stick around.

Her heart was beating quite fast now. She looked up again, now Riku was right by Kairis side, Riku was now disagreeing with what Kairi said, she looked at him funny, like she didn’t quite get why he was disagreeing with her. Riku was hugging Kairi now that was the last straw; she squirmed out of his hug and jumped down off her seat. with a look of hurt and anger on her face she put her hands on her hips and yelled loud enough for even Leshaya to hear, “Riku how could you!” a tear rolled down her face, Riku who was still just talking said something but Kairi wouldn’t listen she shook her head, and was about to dash off.

Oh no, if she leaves then she could see me, then I would be in huge trouble. Leshaya though to herself. She tried to move to a better hiding spot but she found her light purple hair was entangled in the bushes, she couldn’t move! Before Kairi dashed off Riku grabbed her arm, stopping her from running off.

As Leshaya franticly tried to untangle her hair, she looked over and saw Kairi and Riku arguing. Good she though, that will give me some time. Her heart was beating extremely fast now, since the bushes where so close together it was hard for Leshaya to move around to get her hair untangle

She looked over again Kairi pulled her arm away from Riku, tears still in her eyes she ran off. Oh no, not now! Leshaya yelled to herself in her head, still tangled in the mess of bushes she would be seen if Kairi looked her way

    Chapter 4

Leshayas heart was racing now; there was something weird going on with Riku. Something she couldn’t quite say but she knew she didn’t like it. She felt this before but didn’t have time to think before Kairi came racing by. Crossing her fingers hoping Kairi wouldn’t see her she tried not to move, fearful that the bushes rustling would catch Kairis attention, she watched Kairi run right past her.

Letting out a little sigh, Leshaya looked at her mess of hair, and started working on untangling it. Feeling her toes getting colder and the light fading she looked up to see dark rain clouds blocking the sun. “That’s not normal” she said to herself quietly, “darn hair, just had to get tangled before it rains.”

Eyes widening in fear she heard footsteps coming closer, how could she have forgotten Riku was still here? Staying as still as she could she tried turning her head so she could see but she wasn’t able to twist around enough to see where Riku was going. Listening to the footsteps getting closer, and then stopping. Oh no, he did see me did he? She thought desperately hoping he didn’t. Just seconds after that thought went through her head rain started coming down hard.

After what seemed like forever, Riku started walking away. I guess he didn’t see me… otherwise he would have said something… or would he? She wondered. He seems different somehow. A crackle of lighting and thunder snapped her out of her thoughts and she started again on her mess of hair. Finally untangling the mess of branches, hair and twigs she squirmed out of the bushed she was hiding in and took a good look on how much of a mess she was. There was mud all over her cloths, and little tears and rips, she had a cut on her cheek and leg, leaves and twigs in her hair, not to mention she was soaking wet by this time. “Wow, mom’s gonna freak when she sees this mess” Leshaya commented almost laughing as she thought of how her mom would react. “Eeep!” she squeaked as another bolt of lighting came with thunder just seconds after.

She started on her way home, trying to pick out the leaves and twigs from her hair and cloths, occasionally looking up to see if she could see the dock though the rain. Finally convince she couldn’t do much better, and because she was getting cold she picked up speed. Although it was still day the dark clouds where blotting the sun out so much that it seems as is it was night outside, so while she was running she didn’t notice a root of a tree until she trips on it.

Falling to the ground she scraped her knees on the hard earth. As she picked herself up she moved her hair out of her face. “Wait a minute, where‘s my hairclip?” she looked around and noticed a faint blueish glow. Walking over to it she realized it was her hairclip, as she picked it up she turned it around in her hands a few times, feeling the smooth blue surface with her fingers she stared at the soft glow. She looked at her arms, she noticed she was shivering and had goose bumps, so she quickly clipped the butterfly hairpin back in her hair and started off again towards the dock.

On her way to the dock as lightning flashed she saw a mysterious figure standing far off by some trees. there's that feeling again she though to herself who is that and why do I get this horrible feeling to stay away... yet I want to go closer? Another crash of lightning an thunder and they where gone

    Chapter 5

When Leshaya reached the dock where her boat was, she noticed someone tying up their boat. “Hello?” she called out to them.
“Hello? Leshaya is that you?” a familiar voice called back.
“Sora?” she replied, “Yea it’s me, what are you doing here?” running over to him she gave him a big hug.
“I could ask you the same thing, what have you been doing out here in this big storm?” he asked
“That’s a long story” she replied thinking back on what had happened.
“Well now’s not a good time to tell a story, you’re soaking wet, you must be freezing,” he said worried “you can tell what happened after we get home”
“Okay” she replied walking to her boat
“Are you sure you can paddle home alright?” Sora questioned
“Yea…maybe…” she said noticing her arms where numb with cold
“Come on I’ll paddle,” he said “you can get you boat after the storm is over.”
“Well okay I guess,” she replied, walking over to Sora’s boat and stepping into it. Sora got in the boat after untying it and picked up the oar

Finally getting home after the long trip from the island Leshaya hoped out of the boat, Sora tied it up and they both started walking towards their home. “Hey Sora, wanna race back home?” she asked, almost laughing as she started running down the street.
“Hey that’s not fair!” He called out to her “ you got a head start”
“Nooooooo, you’re older, it’s only fair that I get a head start” she called back laughing
She saw Sora catching up to her she ran even faster. “You’ve gotten faster than last time we raced Leshaya” he said, almost alongside her “but still not as fast as me!”

Reaching the door at the exact same time, they both called “FIRST!”
“Okay, it's a tie” she said panting.
Smiling the silly smile of his, Sora nodded his head, and opened the door “mom’s been really worried”
“Yea I bet she is,” she said in reply, walking through the door.
“Hello?” called Sora and Leshayas mom before turning around the corner “Leshaya! Where have you been?” she said giving her a big hug
“I was only over at the island,” she said
“Well come on, you look like you need a warm shower” Leshayas mom said, worried that leshayas lips where turning blue “I’ll make some hot chocolate”
“Okay mom” she said turning to the stairs to her room.

why post this? to tell the truth i don't know, just felt like it

    disconsolate \dis-KON-suh-lut\, adjective:

    1. Being beyond consolation; deeply dejected and dispirited; hopelessly sad; filled with grief; as, "a bereaved and disconsolate parent."
    2. Inspiring dejection; saddening; cheerless; as, "the disconsolate darkness of the winter nights."

Midway through the course he came to the table with the disconsolate expression of a basketball coach whose team had just been trounced.
-- Bryan Miller, "Odd Couples Can Make Magic", New York Times, March 2, 1994

An eighteenth-century Fairfax, Thomas, lost the last of the land in the South Sea Bubble and the Fairfaxes were all but forgotten -- except for Lady Mary who was occasionally sighted, dressed all in green, disconsolate and gloomy, and occasionally with her head under her arm for good effect.
    -- Kate Atkinson, Human Croquet

. . .King Midas, whose lips turn all they touch to cold, unnourishing riches, and who perishes alone and disconsolate, cut off by his wealth from the simplest necessities of life -- for bread, water, as well as his wife, his child and his little dog, all turn as he stretches towards them into the gold he thought he desired more than anything else.
-- Jane Shilling, "A golden ambivalence", Times (London), June 2, 2000

Disconsolate comes from Medieval Latin disconsolatus, from Latin dis- + consolatus, past participle of consolari, "to console," from com-, intensive prefix + solari, "to comfort, to soothe, to relieve."

    Yep another short poem :D

    What Do You Do?

What to do when the clock strikes one
And nothing needs to be done?

    Do you take some paint
    And paint a painting?

Do you take a pencil and draw
Till there is nothing left to draw?

What to do when the clock strikes two
    And everyone’s asleep but you?

Do you think of someone close to you
And wonder if they think of you?

    Do you lie awake listening
To the tick tock of the clock?

What do you do when the clock strikes three
    And you want some tea?

You get some of course and drift off to bed

    Your words

    Leaves me breathless
    Your words
The ones I long to hear
    The ones soft and sweet
    Your words
    The ones I’ll never hear
But a simple ‘Hello’ now and again

    Your laugh
    Contagious to those around
    But I’m not there
