OOC: Really Really sorry about the delay guys T_T BIC: Annabel was disgusted and the look on her face showed it very well. "Don't you dare turn your back on me you derma." She spat, she wanted to get him into the fighting mood again, she wasn't going to accept his pity, she didn't need it.
Jane was awake, she just had her eyes closed, it woudn't make a difference if they were open anyway. Listening to what was going on she didn't feel the need to wake Ben who was pretty much passed out from the long day, they didn't seem to be really hurting each other. "No! I don't want your pity," Anna said raising her sword, "Fight me now!" Clara just stood there watching, Drake was right, she wouldn't listen, and she knew that no matter what she did Anna wasn't going to stop, she was pretty strong willed.
Mizuke, who was still clutching her book ran with the crowd. She heard gunshots and screams but they were more wild and beast like behind her. At first she thought that some natural disaster was occurring, but now she realized it was more of a battle field behind her, and the people running next to her were the innocent citizens that were trying to get away from the fire-fight. As she heard more and more gunshots she started to slow down to a walk and then eventually stopped altogether just staring behind her at the crowd of people rushing at her and listening to what was going on.
Clara noticed her falter a couple times when charging, it was then that she remembered that her foot was broken. "Ah, no stop! Don't your foot!" She yelled at her. She was wasting energy, and it was still hard for her to walk since her foot was broken, and that broken foot was her strong leg too, the one she usually used for kicking. She was at a complete disadvantage, when she heard Clara she looked over at her, but brushed her off as a nuisance, she knew what she was doing, and knew the consequences but she didn't care, this guy had pissed her off far more than anyone else had ever dared to.
The more she got pissed off the worse she was, she couldn't think propperly and couldn't analyze the best way to fight him, she just kept running in head on.
Mizuki reached out to take her wallet from the man when all of a sudden screams were heard farther away. Completely forgetting about her wallet she turned towards the screams, "What...." Then suddenly a huge crowd of people started right for the two of them, every person was screaming and shouting, some were even wounded. Without another word Mizuki ran along with the crowd, passing the man who had stolen from her.
Mizuki could see the guilt in his eyes, which made him seem a lot...nicer than most of the thugs that hung around those parts, even though he had stolen her wallet and was now refusing to give it back, but she figured most would have just left by now. She fiddled with her book before replying, "Well...I......um...I have rent due tomorrow."
"Oh um excuse me." Mizuki said when she bumped into the man. Looking up at him, she noticed a little bit of amusement on his face, he looked like he had recently gotten in a fight, and she could also tell that fighting was something usual for him. His scent, which was stronger and different than most wafted through the air. Turning towards him, she looked him straight in the eye. "I...Can I have my wallet back please?" Her face showed no anger just shyness, like she was asking this stranger to help her with something instead of returning something that he had stolen from her.
"That's it!" She shouted and charged at him with every intent on slicing him to pieces, she was fed up with his mocking, no one had ever treated her with such disrespect. Clara tensed up and closed her eyes, covering them with her hands, she though for sure Anna was going to kill him.
She took a lot longer to get ready than she had anticipated, grabbing the book she was currently reading and her school bag she hurried out of her apartment. Mizuki fumbled with her keys, to much of a hurry to actually look and figure out which one she needed. Finally she locked the door and ran down the stairs. There wasn't an elevator, she couldn't afford such an apartment building, there were only stairs in this one, and she was on the top floor. She walked/ran through the "lobby" if that's what you could call it, it was more of a small room with a worn out wooden desk at the bottom of the stairs that didn't have anything on it, there wasn't a chair behind it, and there was no one manning it. It was only there to make it look more like a regular apartment building. She quickened her pace as she got outside. The building where she lived was just on border of the "bad" part of town, there were a lot of gangs and fighting in this part, but the better part was just a couple blocks away so she could still go to a nice school. Pretending to read her book while she fast walked down the street she tried to avoid the sketchy people on the streets.
Anna wasn't amused by his imitation of her, and it plainly showed on her face. "It's none of your f****** business what I get out of this." She said, extremley pissed off, she had worked most of her life to rise to the top and it all shattered as soon as the war was over and she had to work for Edward. She raised her sword at him again, "And I will get it, I always get what I want." Her bratty side from when she was rich was popping back out again. When they made it back to camp she saw Annabel and Matt fighting while everyone else was sleeping. "What the?"
Mizuki woke up from shivering, reaching around for the covers unsuccessfully she reluctantly opened her eyes. Wrapping her legs up to her chin she looked around the bed to not find a single sheet left on it, they had all fallen on the floor by her side. She sighed and decided she should get up anyway, even though her body was begging her to pick them back up and sleep for a few more minutes. Picking up the sheets as her feet touched the cold floor she wrapped them around herself for the short trip to the bathroom.
"Thanks." She said blushing again. "So uh... I guess we should get back. I'll try not to fall this time." Smiling, she continued to walk.
"Shut up will you." She said in an annoyed tone, standing up and flipping the hair out of her face. She whipped out her sword and pointed it at his face, "Now what was that about not hurting a fly?"
Her eyes grew wide as he pulled her along with him. Landing on her back she groaned and rolled over to pick herself up.
Ben nodded, and looked down at Jane, to tell the truth it hadn't been scary, he had bearly known Jane when they signed the contract, so he didn't care about her at all. Working up the nerve to look at him she smiled, "Heh, I tend to fall a lot more than most." She said. Anna grabbed his finger and yanked it towards her, pulling him closer as she made a fist and punched him in the face.
"That I'm not too sure about, the derma does all of the work all you do is sign. All I remember about signing the contract was...falling asleep... I think? I don't know, but it was just Jane and I and we were surrounded by darkness and there was a piece of paper in front of me, as soon as I signed it, all of these chains started wrapping themselves around her and they all came together to a small chain that clamped to my wrist while she was surrounded with them. And that was it, that's all I remember about signing the contract. I asked her to sign one with me (not that she really had a choice at the time) and that was that." Ben said, as he talked he got quieter and kept glancing down at Jane almost checking to make sure the chains weren't visible.
"Derma's are able to sign contracts with humans, once signing a contract they become even more powerful than they were before they signed it. It is also their responsiblity and really only desire to protect their human "masters" though most don't really call their contractors masters, just Jane does." As he said this he looked at Jane, he didn't know why Jane started calling him master and being so formal with him, most of the contracts he'd seen between other dermas and humans were more casual. After looking at her for a minute he focused his attention back at Maria. "They become completley obsessed with their masters, protection and happiness, and would do anything for them. Also when their contractors die, so do they, a derma literally cannot live without thier contractors." "Uh huh. I'm fine, I actually trip a lot." She said not wanting to look at his face because she was so embarrassed. It was true that she fell all the time, but she still hadn't gotten used to it, so she still got embarrassed.
Suddenly she tripped on a root, "Oof......" She picked herself back up and started brushing off her still ripped skirt from earlier that day, embarrassed. "Sorry.... heh, I wasn't paying attention." She muttered.
"Oh yeah, I'm fine." Clara said smiling. Then she looked up at the sky while continueing to walk, "It's really beautiful night out." She whispered more to herself. Ben looked over at Cailen, "That's true, but he needs to learn, and I'm not going to teach him, what he needs is to sign a contract with someone so they can keep him in line."
