Bonnie watched as Adam sipped his tea before answering. ❝ I have been traveling around with Brandon and Min... um... Barachiel and Remiel. And we've been going after all of the stray demons that are still around, especially in the U.K... ❞ Adam scratched the back of his head and she pursed her lips. The heavy flow of demons in the U.K. were all her doing. ❝ It feels very redeeming in some ways... though I have the feeling it's not gonna matter what I do at this point... I have a feeling something is gonna happen after I die... ❞ Her brows narrowed. Adam had no reason to be concerned with death already. Taking out some low level demons wasn't life threatening. Now that the real threat was over, it should have been fairly smooth sailing. Then again, spending a couple years trotting the globe with Barachiel and Remiel could make even the most sane of angels want to do away with themselves. They were obnoxious enough on their own, when they were together it was even worse. Adam stared at the cup of tea and sighed saying, ❝ I know it may seem stupid of me... but I don't fully blame you for destroying my life. You were just the first one to start pulling me down... ❞ She sighed. Adam shrugged and took another bite of his cucumber sandwich. ❝ It was my fault for the rest really. ❞ Bonnie pushed her cup of tea away and reached for Adam's sandwich, setting it on the counter. She wrapped her hands around his wrists and smiled apologetically. ❝ I may not be fully to blame, but I still take responsibility. We were all given our assignments and I chose you. I may be in Heaven now, but once a Dark Angel, always a Dark Angel. I can't undo what I did, but I truly did enjoy our time together. ❞ She shut her eyelids. Harbonnah had never felt the genuine desire to cry before. Every time she had done it in the past, it was always an act to further her goals. She fought back the urge and inhaled deeply. ❝ As much as I may regret it, I'm glad I chose you. ❞ She opened her eyes and smiled at him. ❝ You've grown even more handsome by the way. I'm sure you've broken a number of human girl hearts in my absence. ❞ Bonnie kissed his cheek before letting go to pick up her coffee cup and take another sip of tea. @cstar

Alistair gave Roslind a slip of paper with her room number on it before leaving. He told her to just match the symbols. She looked down at the paper and didn't think they looked too complicated, so matching should be fairly easy. Nodding to herself, she stuck the paper in her pocket and watched as the young blonde girl shut the door to the apartment. The door sat askew in the frame, most likely from the large muscle man kicking it open. She wondered how secure it would be now. The blonde girl walked into the kitchen to join Roslind and spoke. ⁅Hoo boy, now how are we going to do this?⁆ She shrugged. ⁅So you can't speak? Like, at all? You seem to understand Alistair well enough.⁆ Roslind nodded. I know what you are saying, I just appear to be mute. Not like the girl could hear her thoughts. Her time spent in this land would be quite tiresome. She was already feeling drained. That girl mentioned having taken the large room. Is there another available? Roslind walked out of the kitchen and looked around. She held her hands up to her face and cocked her head to the side, making a sleeping gesture. Ros hoped the girl could understand at least that much. Harley was silent for a long moment before replying to the question Heidi asked herself. "I wouldn't think about it too much." he finally said to her. ". . . I wonder what the rest of this place is really like? We should do some exploring later." Heidi nodded in agreement. They would need to see what they were dealing with, and who. She continued to stroke Harley's hair for a minute in silence. Thoughts of the old game crossed her mind and she tried to block it out. She didn't want to remember. She didn't want to know. How much more hardship had they gone through by the end of it? Was it still going on? It's not important. She laid back on the bed as well, perpendicular to Harley. Heidi's legs dangled off the edge and she draped her hands over her eyes. She was tired too, but her dreams always left her restless. Sleep provided even less control. Her dreams were vivid and painful. She rolled onto her side and looked down at Harley by her leg. Heidi didn't want to know about what happened before, but there was one question that kept coming to mind. Did he win? If anyone could win, it was Harley. "Did you win?" she asked, watching him. Her bangs hung lopsided on her face and she brushed them out of the way. @Iskandar

There was a long pause before Adam spoke, breaking the silence. ❝ I know... but... ❞ he started, smiling at her, ❝ It's really amazing to see you again. ❞ That made her smile as well. She looked over at him and watched as Adam closed his eyes and admitted, ❝ With all that was done I figured I'd probably never see you again. Especially since you were in Heaven... ❞ Ah yes, Heaven. Adam sighed a bit finishing making his tea and taking a sip before asking, ❝ So... what's it like for you to be back in Heaven? ❞ Harbonnah frowned at the cup of tea. ❝ It's claustrophobic. Everyone is always watching me because of my passed transgressions. ❞ She took a sip of her tea and turned to face him. ❝ Recently, I have been tasked with helping the Nephilim build some sort of boarding school. It seems I will be tasked with running the place as part of my punishment. I have been forgiven, but the things I have done have not been forgotten. ❞ She set the cup down on the counter and ran her hands through her long curly hair. ❝ What have you been doing while I've been gone? I've kept tabs a little, but they try to keep me so busy that I don't usually see. ❞ Time meant nothing to angels. Before she knew it, a few years had already gone by. Adam was older now. He looked more defined, more mature. She was sure he had been through quite a bit since they were apart. Bonnie had hated being apart. She basically destroyed his life and for some reason he was still all right with being around her. He should hate her. The fact that he didn't was part of the reason she cared for him so much. Any sane person would hate her. It helped that none of the Fallen were really sane. . . @cstar

Harley laid down on the bed parallel to the edge, his head resting near her thigh. She liked being close to him. He placed one of his hands over her fists and she didn't try to shake it off. His hands were so large compared to her's. Did all boys have such large hands? "If you wanna stand on your own two feet, that's fine." he told her, squeezing. "But just because you think you're such a problem for someone else—namely, me—don't mean you actually are. I'll watch over you from a distance, if that's what you want." She didn't want him to distance himself. That wasn't what she meant. She just didn't want him to feel like he had to take care of her. "Still, it doesn't answer my question." he eventually said, rolling on his side closer. His question? "What do you want to do?" he asked. Oh, that question. "If you want to go find him, Altair, you can. I'll go with you, if you want." Heidi shook her head. She did want to find Altair, quite terribly, but it was something she wanted to do alone. Right now, she just wanted to stay here. She was calm and she didn't know how long that would last. Heidi wanted to take advantage of it for as long as possible. "Stay here," she told him softly. Cautiously, she slipped one hand out of his grasp and reached for his head. Heidi hesitated for a moment before setting her hand down on his hair and stroking it. He had done it so many times to her already that she had lost count. She had never stroked someone's head before. His hair was soft under her hand. It felt nice. "I want Harley to be happy too." It slipped out before she realized. She could hear the beat of her heart in the silence of their room. It was slow and steady. Heidi counted the beats of her heart. It helped her stay present. Her brown eyes wandered the room. It really did remind her of Harley. Did this new Game Master know which rooms they would pick? Did they become like this the moment they decided to open the door or were they pushed to a particular room that was already planned? Heidi didn't usually do a lot of deep thinking like that, but there were things she had caught onto since the last game. How long would this quiet peace last before something bad happened? "Who's going to die first?" she asked to herself. It was only a matter of time. @Saxima

And then things became unpleasant. There was a loud cracking sound as the apartment door was kicked open and the large man that had plowed through the crowds of people in the school came barreling in, shouting. ⁅GREETINGS MY FELLOW ROOMMATES! LET US BASK IN THE GREATNESS OF TESTOSTERONE!⁆ Roslind jumped back, out of the giant man's way. Then things were worse. The red-haired man that had been assisting her began to panic and shout as well. ⁅NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! I REFUSE! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE?! THIS ISN'T YOUR ROOM!⁆ he told him, with tears running down his face. Roslind cringed. Her face scrunched together at the sight of a grown man crying. This was clearly too much for him. It was too much for her. The crippling fear she had felt in the classroom crept back in. ⁅OH, YOU ARE RIGHT! I AM SUPER ULTRA SORRY THAT YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO ENJOY THE TESTOSTERONE WITH ME! TESTOSTERONE AWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY⁆ The gigantic man yelled before ballet jumping out of the room, the beads of sweat glistening on his body like sparkles as he soared through the air. What even. . . She just stood there staring in awe. There was a very uncomfortable silence in the air after the giant ogre disappeared. She could hear him making his way down the hall and backed further into the room. ⁅Hahaha... Haha... Haaaaaaah.... so....⁆ started the other man, before looking at the two of them, ⁅I wont be staying in this room, it will be between the two of you, so I guess you two will need to get along.⁆ he informed the blonde girl. Roslind wasn't really looking forward to getting along with more people, but priests were meant to welcoming towards everyone. ⁅Oh that's right, how very rude of me! I haven't told you my name!⁆ he finally remember. Roslind had been waiting this whole time to learn the identity of her savior, but was unable to ask. He bowed before her and continued. ⁅My name is Alistair Grey.⁆ Alistair, huh? Alistair looked over at the blonde girl to tell her something. ⁅My companion over here cannot speak, so I do hope you help her out.⁆ He smiled. Roslind sighed in defeat and set a hand on Alistair's shoulder. She gave him a pat and pointed towards the door. He looked tired. This whole excursion appears to have taken its toll on him and she didn't want to keep him from resting any further. She gave him an apologetic smile before giving him a nudge towards the door. Somehow, Roslind would manage on her own for the rest of the day. There was this other girl here, so if she needed help with anything, she would try and rely on her. @TwilightBlader @Iskandar

At the sound of the door closing, Heidi's head snapped up. Harley was back. He was fine. She knew it was her imagination, but couldn't help it. He approached the bed and sat down at the edge. She took a deep breath and clenched her hands together. "Are you alright?" he asked. "Fine," she muttered. "Our roommate probably won't bother us, seems real soft-spoken. I didn't . . . tell him about you because I didn't know how you'd react. Do you want to meet him? I'll take you, if you want. Or we could get some fresh air, whatever you wanna do." he told her. Harley was being polite. He was trying to make her comfortable. He was basing all of his decisions on her and nothing for himself. She was burdensome. She didn't want to be a burden to him. Heidi crawled across the bed and sat next to him, her legs tucked to her side. "Harley," she breathed his name, "I don't wanna be a burden." She kept her head down, afraid to look at him. He gave so much. She knew it. It was hard for her, but she wished she could do something for him too. "Don't summon." She needed to tell him. Summonings meant sacrifices, but she couldn't make the words come out. Would it make him more sad to know how she died? "I saw Altair, but I don't think he saw me. I didn't talk to him yet." She sunk her teeth into her lip. "There might be more, like us. Your family--" she thought of Quin, "or that girl you liked," and Marina. Heidi was just Harley's charity case. He would protect her because he felt bad for her, but she didn't want to be the only one that was protected. "I don't wanna be useless again..." she muttered to herself. You'll always be useless. "I like you and I don't want you to get sick of taking care of me." Everyone got fed up with it eventually. It was hard to deal with a child that was sick. She balled her hands into fists on her lap and pressed her lips together. Heidi just wanted to be normal. She wanted to be looked at like every other sixteen-year-old girl. @Saxima

Roslind listened quietly as the man gave his long-winded explanation as to what everything was and how it worked. It had its own special magic powered by electricity? She stood there in disbelief until he was done, the skepticism rising. Roslind approached the microwave and pressed one of the peculiar buttons on it. It beeped to life and filled up with light. There was a humming noise coming from it and she opened the door to the box. Everything stopped. The light went away and the humming ceased. That only left her with more questions. ⁅Ahem,⁆ Another voice came from behind them and she jumped. Roslind turned to see a young blonde girl standing at the entrance of the kitchen. ⁅Am I to assume you guys are my roommates? I just got here a minute ago myself and was looking around. Oh, and before you call the room at the end of the hallway, I already call dibs. Now, give me a minute to come up with a joke here, because I'm fresh outta them, and need a good way to keep myself from seeming too strange.⁆ Roslind stared at her. This girl was her roommate and she needed a joke? Her slender silver brows turned upwards and she cocked her head to the side. Roslind looked up at her companion, questioningly, then back at the other girl. What sort of person have I gotten myself involved with now? ⁅I got it!⁆ the girl exclaimed, ⁅Make sure you guys keep your hands in your pockets, or else I might end up stealing your stuff.⁆ The girl smiled at them. That was her joke? Roslind had seen court jesters with better comedy routines than that. That was awful and why would she make a joke about threatening to steal there stuff. I have a strong feeling I am not going to like this girl. I have little for her to steal, but if she even thinks it, I will break her. Lord Udur, please give me strength as I brave this new land. She asked the God of Death for help, as the priests aligned themselves with Death, the king of the gods. Her nose turned up pointedly and she pressed her lips together. Roslind's silver braid fell in her face and she tucked it behind her ear once more. The girl looked like she was waiting for something and Roslind just shrugged. There was nothing she could do about this situation. Even if I learn everything there is to know about this place, I cannot even give my name, as our writing styles are apparently different. She didn't know what to do in her given situation and she felt like the words 'strange' and 'unfamiliar' had become the only words in her vocabulary. @TwilightBlader @Iskandar

Harley shrugged at her question. She didn't really expect an answer. He knew about as much as she did. "I'unno . . . We don't have instructions. Seems like we should wait—or, if this is anything like the last game . . ." He looked away thoughtfully. "We could try and summon whoever the demon controlling this game is?" She froze. Heidi felt her hands shake and she tucked them between her legs. He might want to sacrifice you. Do you really want to risk it? He wouldn't. Harley wouldn't do that. He's just like the rest of them. He may be nice now, but that won't stop him when push comes to shove. Wouldn't you feel safer by yourself? You've already been sacrificed once. What if he wants to try the summoning? Harley plopped onto the bed next to her, breaking her free of her trance. "I guess we wait." She nodded as he laid down beside her. Just as he did, there was a knock, then a click. Harley shot back up and threw her a look. Heidi stared back at him uncertain. Someone was there. "Hello, anyone in here?" called an unfamiliar voice, "I have a key to this room, but it seems like the door was already unlocked." Someone else had a key. It wasn't just Harley. Heidi felt herself seize up as Harley groaned. "Great, we got a roommate." He sounded about as pleased as she felt. Harley murmured for her to stay put and he made his way to the door of the bedroom. He peeked out into the hall before disappearing. She was left alone in the room. It kind of reminded Heidi of Harley's dorm back at Brookridge. She slid across the bed until she reached the head, pressing her back up against the wall. She would be okay. Harley was here and he wouldn't sacrifice her, no matter what they say. She needed to find Altair too. Heidi had wanted to go to him back in the classroom, but it had just been too much. She couldn't be around those many people when an attack started. She needed to tell Harley that Altair was here, that they weren't the only ones. Heidi looked to the door, wondering how long he would be gone. He asked her to wait. She trusted that he would come back. Nothing would happen to him while she sat there waiting. He could be dead already. It's awfully quiet. That person out there could have killed him while you sat here. No. He'll come back. Will he? He will. WILL HE? An image of Harley standing over her, bloody and mangled flashed before her eyes. He looked lifeless and disappointed. He called out to her, asking why she didn't follow, why she didn't make sure he was okay. Heidi screamed. She flipped over on the bed, burying her face in the pillows. It wasn't real. It wasn't real. She knew it wasn't real. Harley was okay. Harley would be okay. He would come back. This wasn't going to be like last time. He was just gone and then she was being sacrificed. The glint of the knife just before it cut through her throat seemed so bright and she just laid their curled up and shaking. It wasn't real. This wasn't going to be the same. They were all going to be okay this time. How can you be so sure? @Saxima @Iskandar
⁅Even this is confusing for you?⁆ muttered the man quietly. Roslind shrugged. At this point, she was already starting to just accept the fact that she wouldn't understand anything about anything. ⁅Hmmm, I know I kind of said that this was an inn...but I guess an apartment room is more grand than that.⁆ No kidding. This was the furthest thing from an inn. ⁅See an apartment room is sort of like a miniature house where people live inside. All the necessities such as sleeping chambers, kitchen, and bathroom are inside here.⁆ he said, before crossing his arms. For a miniature home, this apartment was much more spacious than any normal home she had ever seen. The only thing that compared in size were the castles and temples. This place was much to large to be a house, let along a miniature one. ⁅To be honest I'm sort of nervous to leave you on your lonesome... I mean, if you want you could always stay in my room or something so I can keep an eye on you, but I can understand why you wouldn't want to...⁆ Absolutely not. She was a priestess. She knew what men did when women let their guards down. This man seemed nice, but anything could happen in the dead of night. Roslind hardly slept the entire time she was with the sell-sword. He made big claims, but she couldn't be certain she would not wake up in a brothel as a slave. This land may be different, but that didn't mean the people in it were. ⁅In any case, let's just explore your apartment room for now and see what we can find.⁆ He changed the subject. He walked in, taking her hand. ⁅Just pull me out of the room whenever you wanna leave.⁆ She nodded. Roslind turned to the left, entering the kitchen. Everything was shiny and she wondered where she was supposed to start the fire for cooking her food. Everything opened and shut, beeped and dinged. She grabbed the handle of a door and a rush of cool air hit her. Inside the metal cupboard were foods that were difficult to preserve. They were kept in cellars to remain cold, but that didn't give them a long shelf-life. She shut the door and opened it again. The metal cupboard somehow lit up. Where was the tiny lantern? Roslind shut the door again and looked up at the man, pointing around. This was so overwhelming. I'm not sure if I like the 'future'. Bonnie stopped in front of the apartment door. She eyed it skeptically for a moment before turning the handle and walking in. She didn't bother with the key. Bonnie had seen Adam enter this room and she only cared about being with him. If her key was to a different apartment, it was useless. If it was to this one, well, the door was already unlocked. Immediately upon entering, she saw the bathroom was to her left, and the kitchen to her right. Adam sat there at the kitchen table eating a sandwich and drinking tea. He looked so simple and normal sitting there. She wondered if this was what it was like for him before he met her. ❝ Ah-hem, ❞ she cleared her throat to get his attention. He looked so cute sitting there eating his sandwich. Bonnie leaned over him and took a small bite out of his sandwich. ❝ Cucumber? ❞ she asked, surprised. The smell of his tea was warm and inviting, so she decided to make herself a cup as well. Bonnie rifled through the cabinets for a coffee cup and stood in front of the stove with her back to him as she poured the hot water into the ceramic mug. This utter and complete sense of normalcy was unfamiliar to her. She had never lived a basic human life. She spent a lot of time on her, but had never thought of doing something so menial as pouring herself a cup of tea. Bonnie had never cared to act human, before. The most she had ever done was when the two of them lived at his grandfather's house until the rest of the righteous Fallen had come to take Adam away from her. ❝ It feels like it has been an eternity since the last time I saw you, and I'm not counting our brief exchange during the battle with Lucifer. ❞ she said wearily into the coffee cup. Steam rose up in her face and she sighed. She wondered how Adam felt seeing her in her true form, or at least the form his human brain interpreted her as. If he saw her in all of her angelic glory, it would burn him up from the inside out. The person he knew her as was in a human shell. She had picked it for its similarities, but it wasn't her on the outside. All of that time spent with Adam made her soft. Although, she did come up with dozens of ways to destroy that puny human girl that was professing something about experiments and fun in the classroom, all in the matter of about five seconds. That girl had utterly annoyed her and she was still the Angel of Annihilation. She swallowed a lump in her throat and brushed her hair out of her face. As Roslind held the key up, the man leaned in closer to better inspect it. She really hated being at this sort of disadvantage. She was utterly useless here. There were too many unknown factors in this land and there was nothing she could do about it. ⁅Hmm, ah that's the key to your apartment room.⁆ She stared at him again, having no clue what an apartment was. He leaned in closer to the key. ⁅Let's see, the key has a number that will tell you what room you'll be residing in for the night..⁆ he said, before pointing over at the apartment building they were going to stay at. That made a little sense -- only a little. Roslind continued with her blank, confused look. ⁅That is were we will be staying. Oh right, you probably don't know what an apartment is...⁆ She nodded. And we have reached the root of the problem. ⁅Well it's... hmm, how to put this.... It's sort of like an inn, basically. It contains different rooms that people live in... your key says 201, so it's only logical that the key will open the door to room numbers 201.⁆ he said, while pulling out his own key. All right. An inn. Roslind knew what an inn was. That made her a little happy. How many days had it been since she left the temple? Four? Sleeping in the woods was tolerable, but not her most favorite thing to do. She had been on a secret delivery. If she had opted to pay for a room in an inn on the way, there was a good chance she could have been identified. The priests were not supposed to travel alone. When they did travel, it was always important. Granted, she hadn't exactly been alone. She would have preferred it though. ⁅Hmm, my key says 202, so I guess we won't be too far from each other.⁆ That was convenient. Their numbers were one after another. That would put their rooms close together. Suddenly he closed his eyes with a small smile. Roslind pressed her lips together and tipped her head back an inch. ⁅Well then...⁆ he began, while placing one arm across his chest and bowing, ⁅Allow me to be your guide milady, I know it must be frustrating, but I'm sure you'll be able to communicate soon and I shall be of assistance to you until you're perfectly fine on your own.⁆ That would probably take awhile, but she appreciated it. She returned the bow out of respect and when he raised his hand for her to take his arm, she obliged. It would have been rude not to, after he had done so much for her already. ⁅Shall we be on our way?⁆ She nodded, before stepping forward in the direction of the apartment. While the nameless man led her, Roslind took the opportunity to look around some more, safely. Such a strange land indeed. As they entered the building, Roslind started to feel even more on edge. Everything was just too different. Her eyes darted between the strange lanterns on the ceilings and the decorative walls. The floors were made of some cloth material, not stone or wood. She kept looking around, but they stopped in front of some large, shiny metal doors. There was a ding that startled her and the doors slid open. Roslind stood there, eyeing it skeptically. The doors had opened into a small closet-like room and she wondered why the man was entering it. He stood there waiting for her and she shifted back and forth, expecting there to be more to the space. Tentatively, she stepped inside, and he pressed something on the wall. The doors shut after her and she felt a small jerk to the room. Blue eyes widened as she stared up at the man in a panic. Was this some sort of trap? Had she put faith in her savior only to be quickly betrayed? She took a step back, putting herself in the corner. Even without magic, she could still defend herself if need be. Her dagger was not on her. She would need to acquire a new one if she made it out of the small room alive. This was a dangerous land and she was unfamiliar with their customs. He seemed to notice her fear and let out a sigh as he patted her head. She should have done a better job at masking her emotions. ⁅Geez, no need to be frightened. I told you I'll take care of you. Right now we are in an elevator... it's a special room where it moves us up to the second floor. You're perfectly safe... the doors will open in a sec...ond⁆ he said smiling. As if on cue, there was another ding -- where did these chimes keep coming from? -- and the doors slid open. How were they opening and shutting on their own? Was there someone pulling a lever that she was not seeing? Roslind peeked out of the elevator to see another hall. It looked similar, but different than the one they had been in previously. She stepped into the hall and saw a window overlooking the outside. They really were on the second floor, and they hadn't even needed to climb any stairs. This land was rather convenient. She looked up at him, brows furrowed, and followed along as they made their way through the hall. The rooms they were looking for were 201 and 202. Roslind couldn't read the numbers on the doors, so when they came to a stop, she figured they must have been in the right place. Pulling the key out of her pocket, she looked around for the keyhole. The door had some strange looking knob on it with a hole and she assumed that must have been what she was searching for. She looked up at the man for confirmation before slipping the key into the lock. As Roslind turned the key, she realized that the door was already unlocked. With a small push, it opened to reveal a large room and her eyes widened further. This was no inn. Inns were small, usually only containing a cot and a table, or something along those lines. Some did not even have beds. Even the richest of inns did not have rooms this size. She walked in, momentarily forgetting her escort. The sheer overwhelming size of the room was enough to make her dizzy. The apartment had what she thought resembled a kitchen. There was a soft looking bench in the middle of the other room, along with a whole bunch of things that she had no clue as to what they were. Roslind turned back to the door, and raised her hands in defeat. There was no way she could navigate through this land on her own. @TwilightBlader

As the man read what she had to say, he started to look disappointed and Roslind couldn't understand why. Did she write something offensive and not realize it? ⁅Aaaaaaaaaaaand it's all a bunch of scribble for me..... Damn... I guess our writing language is totally different.⁆ The man slumped with a sigh. No! That was her last shot. If they couldn't read what she had to say, there was no way to get her point across. She couldn't even tell them her name. It wasn't fair. Standing back up straight, he looked Roslind and crossed his arms. ⁅If only I had my powers, I would have at least be able to try and telepathically speak to you or something....⁆ Telepathically? She did not know what that word meant. But, if it was some form of communication, she wished he could have done it. The man groaned and she frowned. ⁅But still... I guess we'll keep on trying to find a way.⁆ There was a smile on his face after he said that and Roslind felt oddly reassured. She didn't want to spend her entire time here without the ability to talk. How long would her 'entire time' even be? Would this end in minute or last an eternity? Roslind watched as the man stood there thinking. How was she supposed to communicate if they could read her language? There was a lot of people in that room, maybe someone else would be able to. She pocketed the piece of paper and handed the strange quill back to the man. ⁅To be honest,⁆ he began, ⁅I'm confused myself...⁆ That made two of them. ⁅Somebody has used some sort of magic to bring us all together here... You heard her voice right?⁆ She nodded. ⁅It was right before we woke up. It's as if she is playing some sort of game with us... This world that we are in, it looks to be as if it is based on a time where I originate from.⁆ A time? What did he mean by a time he originated from? The man spread out his arms in a grand gesture and she was taken aback. ⁅And so, I welcome you to the future! I know it's a lot to take in, but stick by me and I'll make sure you're safe.⁆ The man was grinning and Roslind stood there with a blank look on her face. The future? Well that was just impossible. No one could perform magic that would take them to the future. She wondered if the man had hit his head on the ground when he tackled her. He sure did have a lot to say. Roslind envied that. She didn't usually say much, but she would have liked the ability to choose to speak. The sell-sword seemed to get a lot out of her, but it was mostly comments on how he should go away. Hesitantly, she lowered the hood of her cloak. Silvery hair was braided into a crown on her head and she tucked side braid behind her ear. Roslind pulled the key out of her pocket, inspecting it. She had never seen of key like that before. Her blue eyes narrowed to the stamp on it, trying to read the numbers, to no avail. She held the key up for him to see and tapped the imprint of room number 201. What does it say? she tried to ask him. Was it just some sort of design, or was it actually a word? She knew too little about this foreign land and she hated having to rely on others. This is going to become bothersome quickly. She caught a glimpse of the 'apartment' building that everyone had been mentioning before as she watched a few of them shuffle inside. What sort of place was an 'apartment'? It seemed the more she learned, the less she knew. There were just too many things to ask. I just want to go home.

It seemed the more she learned, the less she knew. There were just too many things to ask. I just want to go home.
Heidi followed after Harley to the apartment building, holding onto the arm he had linked with hers. She was so glad to have Harley here for her. Altair was here too and she still needed to see him. She didn't really know how to face him. She didn't know how to face any of them. At least Harley was here. At least he found her before she could get any worse. She didn't have her medication here. She hadn't taken it in such a long time. Just how long had she been dead? How long had it been since it all ended? Had it even ended? Won't it be fun to find out? She tried her best to ignore it. Harley asked how she was doing as they entered the apartment building. She mumbled that she was fine and he led her to an elevator. It seemed as if he knew exactly where to go. When the elevator doors closed, it felt like she had just been locked away. Harley let go of her and smiled. They were alone. When were they alone last? She kept expecting him to turn into one of them, but he just stood there being Harley. A weight seemed to lift off her shoulders at that moment. He really wasn't part of her imagination. If this was death, she could live with that. She wouldn't mind being dead if Harley and Altair were both there with her. When the elevator dinged, he grabbed her hand, leading her out of the metal box. Harley said they were in room 208 and made a joke about kicking out any potential roommates, though part of her thought he might be serious. She knew they had been through a lot. He had probably endured even more than her. She wouldn't doubt him fighting someone if it meant they were safe. When they reached the brown door with the number 208 on it in gold, her heart skipped a beat. This was it. Something would happen when they opened the door, but what? "Here we are," he said, letting go of her hand to slip the key into the lock. The door opened with ease and she took a cautious step forward into the room. It was quiet. "Hello," he called out into the silence. No one was there. Her body was flooded with even more relief. Nothing happened. "Look's like we're the first ones here, quick, we gotta claim the biggest bedroom!" Heidi followed Harley into the master bedroom. She felt safe for the first time in forever. "Harley," she called for him, looking up at his happy face. She hadn't seemed him look that genuinely happy in . . . ever? She felt it too. "It feels safe." she confessed. Heidi walked around the room, taking stock of what was in there: a queen-sized bed, a TV, a dresser, a reclining chair, and a CD player with a stack of CD's next to it. Heidi walked over to them to take a look. She didn't really listen to music, but knew Harley liked it. She bought him CD's for Christmas. CD's that looked a lot like the ones in her hands. Her brows knit together and she turned to face the blond-haired boy, flashing the cases. "Are these the ones I got you?" she asked, not sure. They looked so familiar. There was an unpleasant laughter in her head and she felt disturbed. She set the CD's back down on the table immediately and made her way over to the bed to sit down. Heidi kicked her shoes off and pulled her feet up onto the mattress, tucking her knees against her chest. "What do we do now?"

⁅You know....it'd be easier if you told me what your trying to say,⁆ the man told her. Roslind huffed in annoyance. That is exactly what I have been trying to do. she protested to no avail. ⁅You...angry at me or something?⁆ asked the man. Of course she wasn't angry at him. She knew when to be thankful for someone saving her. She likely would have been run down by the metal machine monster. ⁅I'm usually fine with people getting pissed off at me as I usually deserve it.... but in this case, I don't think I did anything bad... unless you were trying to commit suicide...⁆ Never! Roslind wouldn't commit suicide. She had too many important jobs to do and if she killed herself, she couldn't heal people. She shook her head back and forth in protest. This wasn't working. He just didn't seem to understand. ⁅...Or maybe your having trouble speaking?⁆ YES! She nodded vigorously. The man seemed to search his person for a moment before pulling out something out of his pocket. ⁅If that's the case...hmm...ah, here it is,⁆ he handed her a piece of paper and something she could only guess was a strange form of writing utensil. ⁅Do you know how to write?⁆ he asked her. She nodded again. All of the priests were taught to read and write. Part of their duty was to take care of the scribe work and record. This was what Roslind had been waiting for. She could write down everything she had to say and show the man. It was foolproof this time. My name is Roslind Dyle. I am a High Priestess of the land Myamar. What is this kingdom and what sort of strange enchantments are on this land? Do you have any idea how we've come to be in this sort of place? What was that metal monster? And the small fuzzy fluffy creature in the room? What was that? We have nothing of that sort where I am from. Also the clothes! I do not understand them. For some reason my voice seems to be gone. I cannot find the words to speak. It took Roslind a moment to figure out how to work the strange quill. Her thumb bumped some sort of lever on the top and the top of the quill stuck out the bottom. She lifted her gaze up to the man, even more bewildered by this land, then looked back down at the paper. How was she supposed to write without any ink? She touched the tip of the quill to the paper and ink flowed on the page. SORCERY! This was all to incredible to take in. Quickly she started writing everything down. It felt like her questions were endless, but the page was not. Roslind fit everything she could on there before holding it up for the man to read.

Renée managed to evade the rude girl once the bell rang. She let herself get lost in the crowd and slip away without any further conflict. The school reminded her of her own school. Then again, once you've seen one school, you've seen them all. She maneuvered her way through the crowds and halls with ease, making it outside into the courtyard in no time. Renée skipped past the others and headed in the direction of what she assumed was the apartment building. It was a large two-story building directly across the street from the campus and several of the others could be seen entering it. With a firm nod to herself, she slipped the key out of her pocket and dashed across the street. This was so exciting. She did feel a little bit scared, but just chalked it up to adrenaline. Renée was always taking off. This time was no different. She would go home when she felt like going home and right now she wanted to explore. As she entered the apartment complex, Renée glanced down at her key. The number stamped into the small metal object read 108 and figured that had to be the room number. She started to head down the hall in search of her room, but came up short at the sound of sobbing. Renée had just rounded the corner when the painful noise grabbed hold of her in front of the door to room 100. She stopped and licked her lips, wondering if it would be rude to walk in. Instead, she decided to try and do something from the hall. Renée didn't usually like interfering, but today seemed to be pretty stressful for a lot of people. She moved closer to what divided her between the source of the crying and knocked lightly on the door. ⦇Hey um, you don't have to open the door, but I thought maybe you might like some company. If you want me to leave I will, but I just thought I'd say that we'll figure this out. I'm not sure what you've been through, because it looks like a lot of people are having a hard time dealing with whatever this is, but you don't have to do it alone. So, um, yeah... I'm Renée by the way. I don't know if you caught that in the classroom, but I just thought I'd tell you. According to my key I'm in apartment 108 which looks like it's just down the hall. If you start to feel better, feel free to come find me. Um... sorry, if I bothered you.⦈ She backed away from the door looking unsure of herself. Renée wrapped her fist around the key and decided she would head to her apartment. She told the crying person where to find her. Hopefully they would come. If they didn't, well then that was okay too. She didn't mind. She just wanted everyone else to be as happy as she was. When Renée found the door with 108 taped on it, she slipped the key into the lock, half expecting it not to work. The deadbolt slid out of place and the door pushed open. ⦇Hello?⦈ she called out, but no one seemed to answer. A smirk tugged at the corner of her mouth and she smiled. ⦇Dibs on the big room.⦈

⁅HEY WATCH OUT!⁆ Someone was shouting. Roslind looked back to see a man rushing towards her. She tensed up as his body collided with her. The large metal machine raced passed, horn blaring. Their bodies hit the sidewalk and she cringed in pain. It wasn't too often large men tackled her out of the blue. ⁅G-god that was too close,⁆ the man muttered to himself. She gave him a blank stare. What just happened? The man that threw himself at her stood up and dusted himself off before pulling Roslind to her feet as well. He did his best to dust her off as well, but she pulled back slightly. She wasn't supposed to let men touch her. ⁅You gotta be more careful.⁆ he told her while finishing off the dirt on her cloak. Careful of what? When he finished dusting her off, he appeared to be inspecting her clothes. ⁅You're not from around here...are you?⁆ It was more of a statement than a question. Roslind looked incredibly out of place. Even she knew it. She shook her head no. How was she supposed to communicate with the people in this strange land? Roslind pointed to the road where the metal monster had been. She understood that it was a threat to her, at the very least. Her brows furrowed in frustration as she tried to figure out how to communicate. What was that monstrosity? What is this land? Who are you? How do I get home? So many questions she wished she could ask, and yet she couldn't find the words for any of them.

Roslind was completely ignored after the girl named Renée walked away from her. It wasn't like she was trying to disrespect the girl. She had given an honest effort at speaking. Nothing would come out. She sat there in the desk trying to get anything out, but there was no sound. Roslind rifled through the writing desk to find the aforementioned key and rose to her feet when the bell chimed. She wondered where the magic voice came from that had announced something about buses and school ending -- perhaps it was some sort of projection spell? She followed the crowd of people out of the room. There were even more strangely dressed people in the hall. None of them wore the clothes of her people. Was she the only one in this strange new land? How in the gods did I get here? She stumbled through the hallway, narrowly avoiding the ogreish man plowing through the herds of people. Some boy was knocked over and she knelt down with a hand extended to assist him. Here. Roslind smiled at the young man with dark skin, blue eyes shining. Her words wouldn't come out, but she hoped that she could at least get the point across. When he was to his feet, she gave him a slight nod before heading out the peculiar looking doors. Some of the people that had been in the room were standing around outside while others were crossing the road to a large building on the other side of the street. Roslind spun in circles. Pale blue eyes took in all sorts of unfamiliar sights. Strange metal machines were moving at high speeds on the road and tall metal fences surrounded the large building they had been in. She stumbled forward onto the road, still looking around at everything. What kind of bizarre land had she wound up in? Did the sell-sword put something in her drink? Had she been mistaken in trusting him -- not that she actually trusted him. He was clearly a liar, she just hadn't figured out what he was lying about. There was a loud noise (honking) and she turned in the direction of it. One of the metal machines was barreling towards her and a person seemed to be inside. Was it some sort of carriage? The man on the other side of the glass was waving at her, and she waved back confused. What an odd thing to do.

Heidi was so glad to see Harley again. She never got to say goodbye the first time. It had all ended so quickly. His arms tightened around her and she felt at peace for the first time in a long time. Heidi couldn't remember the last time Harley had held her, but it was probably around Christmas before the game had been kicked into overdrive. Her heart pounded in her chest, blocking out the sounds of the voices in her head. "I don't want to play either. I'm sorry you're here, I wish I could send you away for safety . . ." he told her. She believed him. Heidi didn't trust easily, but she trusted Harley and Altair. If possible, she just wanted to run away and hid with the both of them so that no one would have to be in danger. Heidi remained buried in Harley's chest as he started to address the other people outside, more pawns? "Hey," he said, "Who're all you?" he asked. She turned her head to see just who all he was talking to. His warm soothing hand stroked her hair and her eyes shut once again. She felt him bend down and his voice was closer to her now. "When we get to those apartments, you can stay with me if you want," he murmured. "Yeah," she replied softly. The older man that had been watching her introduced himself as Julius and the sounds of doors opening and shutting grew loud. Voices were coming from every direction and she looked to see students filing themselves out of the school building. "People are coming," she noted, not letting go. Heidi noticed that a few of the faces were the ones that she saw in the classroom. "Those other people are coming too." What were they supposed to do now. They had instructions last time. Heidi hadn't received any instructions. She lifted her head to look up at him, chin raised and eyes wide. "Can we go?" she asked. @Saxima

Heidi was still wrestling with herself when a voice came from above. "Hmm nice weather out here....wouldn't you say?" She looked up to see some man standing over her. Her head tipped back, dark brown eyes filling with the view of the sky. It was nice. Heidi nodded, choking back a sob. "Y-yeah. S'nice." she sniffled. It could be better. Heidi took a deep breath and rubbed her eyes on her sleeve. She didn't want to play the game again. Please. I'll be good. She buried her face in her hands again, no longer crying. She just didn't know how to handle all of this. "Heidi . . . ?" a familiar voice asked cautiously. "Heidi," it repeated her name and her hands dropped to the ground. Glossy brown eyes, stared up at the older boy and she found it hard to breathe. She was afraid that if she blinked, he would be gone. "Harley?" she asked, almost certain her mind was playing tricks on her. Heidi scrambled to her feet and clung to him. Even if he was an illusion, she didn't want him to disappear. "Is it really you?" she asked into his shirt. Heidi inhaled deeply and started to cry again, but for an entirely different reason. Altair was here. Harley was here. She wasn't alone, but she didn't want them to disappear again. "I don't wanna play this game again." Harbonnah let go of Adam's arm and moved back to the teacher's desk. She had no clue as to what she should be doing, but Semyaza was right, the voice said she was the teacher. Bonnie had no idea what she was supposed to be teaching. She rummaged around on the desk and noticed a piece of paper with a list of names on it. A few of them were familiar and she could only guess it was the names of all the people in the room. There were some history books on the shelf behind her and she figured that had to be what she taught. She knocked a cup over and a key fell out. It must have been the apartment. Harbonnah dropped it into her cleavage, lacking pockets on her divine uniform. She felt around on her person for her wand, but it wasn't there. Where was it? After returning to Heaven, she had been received a new one. Dark Angels can't use them, but she was no longer a Dark Angel. Bonnie cleared her throat to speak, when the school bell chimed for a second time. She jumped, having not expected that. People began to shuffle into the hallway. An announcement about getting to the buses quickly came over the loudspeaker and lockers slammed shut. ❝ Two things, ❞ she held up her fingers, ❝ it looks like I teach History, and it would appear that school is done. For the mean time, I think we should head back to that apartment building that we all have keys for. ❞

♛ @Iskandar, accepted.[DOUBLEPOST=1444430107][/DOUBLEPOST]♛ Two things: - First: the Skype group isn't working right now for some reason and I don't know how long it will take before it starts to work. I tried to make a new group and that one is just pending as well. - Second: this is the last time I am saying something about the apartments. I don't mind repeating myself once, in case someone missed something, but every time after that makes me hate everyone. The number in red on each of the apartments corresponds with how many rooms are in said apartment. That's why some groups have three people, two people, or single individuals. Said individuals do not have another room to share with someone unless they are going to stay in the same room, like with Bonnie and Adam. Every apartment will be stocked with basic essentials upon arrival: furniture, food, clothes, and extra cash in that world's currency. Yes, there will be first aid equipment, but only the basic things you would find in your own bathroom cupboard: bandages, ointment, wraps, peroxide, etc. I DO NOT CARE WHO ROOMS WITH WHOM. FIGURE IT OUT. You guys didn't want to do it yourself, so I obliged and did it for your. If you want to make changes, then do it, but say something here so that the list can be updated correctly. Today is the last day to make those changes. This is why I wanted you to pick from the get go, so that changes wouldn't be necessary in the first place. I understand that there would be some adjustments as we have three new characters, which exceeds the room amount, but I'm not going to make another floor to the apartment building for one person. After everyone gets settled into the building, there will be a meeting in one of the corner apartments (the ones with three rooms) as they are the largest and can house everyone comfortably.

Heidi could hear footsteps coming from behind her. Some girl when rushing by and she threw herself into the wall to get out of the way. She couldn't calm down. They were so loud. Stop it. Stop it. Stop it -- more footsteps. "Hi, nice to meet you. My name's Acele. You okay covering your ears like that? Seems like it'd be pretty hard to hear others when they're talking." Someone was talking to her. Heidi turned to see a short-haired blonde girl holding a hand out for her. Why was she talking to her? She seems like an easy target. "No!" she shouted. No easy targets. She didn't want to hurt anyone. Heidi pressed her hands to her ears even harder and pulled away from the girl named Acele. "No, no, no." Her feet started moving before she even realized she was running. Where are you going? I don't know. Away from people. Go back. She looks like a lot of fun. Don't make me go back. Heidi clawed at her ears and slammed into the exit door as she ran outside. Class was in session so it was quiet outside. Cars buzzed by on the road and she stumbled around the courtyard. It was so bright outside. The sun blinded her and she moved her hands to cover her eyes. Why did I come back? It was hard enough the first time around. Heidi fell to her knees on a patch of grass and curled up. xx
