Was it ever said if this game was actually part of the series or is it a true spin-off in that it adds nothing to the story?
I'm predicting that Olympus Coliseum will return for KHIII. Considering Hades is a god, he can't be taken down for good like other Disney Villains. Agrabah might come back, possibly based around King of Thieves this time around since Jafar is gone for good. As for new worlds, we just have to get some Pixar-based worlds this time around. We know it's possible since Woody and Buzz were originally going to be in KHII as summons. So hopefully we get worlds based on Toy Story/Buzz Lightyear of Star Command (Zurg as boss), Monsters Inc. (Randall as boss) , and The Incredibles (Syndrome as boss). We might also get a world based on The Jungle Book as well since that was originally supposed to be in BBS.
Doubtful. Roxas may have been created when Sora turned into a Heartless, but you have to remember that Roxas looks exactly like Ventus, whose heart took sanctuary within Sora. It stands to reason that Roxas is in actuality Ventus and not necessarily Sora's Nobody. This can be further proven with the other Nobodies who still look like they did when they were Somebodies, while Roxas looks nothing like Sora. With Kairi and Naminé...seeing as how Naminé is Sora and Kairi's "child", being born from his body and soul and her heart, it's also doubtful that Kairi had "half a soul".
What's so hard to understand the KH timeline? It's not like the Legend of Zelda timeline, which is still confusing after all this time. The KH timeline is simple. Birth by Sleep - Kingdom Hearts - Re:Chain of Memories - 358/2 Days - Kingdom Hearts II - Re:Coded - Dream Drop Distance Any new games we get will most likely take place after DDD...unless we get a game with Riku as the main character, then that game might take place between CoM and Days.
Well it's about damn time someone got a hold of the rights for the KH manga. Why Yen Press, the company that usually localizes Gangan manga, didn't have the rights to begin with is beyond me. At least now I can continue with the series...granted I still need to find KHII vol 2 first.
I wonder what sort of bosses will be in this game, aside from Darkside. Will Jafar be returning as a boss again? Will Dwarf Woodlands have an exclusive Heartless boss since it looks like Unversed will not be in this game? These are just a few things that need to be answered.
No, the Emblem Heartless were created during the time the experiments were performed by Xehanort, Braig, and the other apprentices. Therefore, this game can't take place during the Keyblade War since there are Emblem Heartless in this game.
I don't see how this takes place during the Keyblade War, especially since there are Emblem Heartless that can be fought. Weren't the Emblem Heartless created long after the war had ended?
Maybe. Most of the games in the series do add something to the story, aside from 358/2 Days despite what people may think (Xion was such a pointless character), so I would say that there is a large chance that this game might add something as well. My only gripe that it is apparently a PC game only. I really hope somewhere down the line it gets released on a handheld system like Re:Coded was.
Since KH is not a yaoi series, regardless of what the fangirls think, those pairings can be ignored. As for other pairings, my personal faves would be... 1. Sora x Kairi - It's obviously canon.2. Zack x Aqua - We all know they had a thing for each other if their interactions were anything to go by. Plus Zack wasn't a gullible and jealous person like Terra was.3. Cloud x Tifa - Another obviously canon pairing, especially since all of the FFVII characters in KH are exactly the same as their FF counterparts.4. Roxas x Ollette - There could have been more to this pairing if given the chance. Also, just because Roxas is Sora's "Nobody" does not mean he has to be paired with Naminé. He's his own person.5. Ienzo x Yuffie - Granted, they have yet to have screen time together, but think about it. They're the same age, they're from the same world, you know Yuffie would have tried to have been Ienzo's friend, and it would have been hilarious seeing Yuffie getting on Even's nerves.

You know, considering Nomura had wanted to redo 358/2 Days as an analong game like the others, this would have been the perfect time to do it. Instead it's just movies from the game.
Well it does include a Final Mix, so it was kinda obvious that it would be Japan-only. Besides, aside from KH3, which everyone wants, there's the KH game that Nomura is working on that Square Enix hasn't announced yet. So we've got two KH games to look forward to.
A little hard to believe that it's been ten years. The time just goes on by. Makes me wonder what the future holds for the series. Like what will be seen in future games. Personally, I'd like to see worlds based on The Bouncer or Parasite Eve or at least characters from those games. I mean, it could be done since Nomura prefers to put his own characters (like Cloud and Neku) in KH and he did design the characters of TB and PE.
If we do get some Pixar based worlds in KH, they would have be of the movies that could actually work as worlds. Toy Story, Monsters Inc., The Incredibles, and A Bug's Life all could work as worlds. Cars and Finding Nemo on the other hand would not.

I really hope a KH game doesn't come out on the iPad or iPhone. That just seems like it would be a bad decision.

As for Pixar worlds, the only ones that could really work are Toy Story (needs to happen more than anything and Zurg should be the world boss), Monsters Inc., The Incredibles, and maybe Wall-E and A Bug's Life (fighting Hopper would be awesome). All of the others, especially Cars, would fail epically.
Nah. I think the Riku game will be a "spin off" game. Apparently, there were four untold stories in the KH series, those being "The period of Riku's absence", "The period of the King's absence", "Roxas' time in the Organization", and "Xehanort's past". The latter two stories were told in 358/2 Days and Birth by Sleep respectively. Going by that, it would be safe to say that the final two untold stories could be turned into a game with Riku as the main character and Mickey as his sidekick.
