Beatrice shook her head, focusing on the fire.
Beatrice started setting up a fire.
Beatrice kissed Sorin's nose and then led Lexi and him to a good patch of grass. "You two deserve a nice rest." She went back to Edward.
Beatrice smiled. "Mum always said I was good at geography." She jumped off Lexi and went to Sorin.
Beatrice nodded. "Okay. Maybe if we go into the trees a bit more, we'll find a clearing."
"No." Beatrice said quickly. "I'm just worried... and a bit scared."
"Well... what if something comes?" Beatrice asked.
"But aren't you about... well, you know." Beatrice said, though she knew she must be the only one who was.
Beatrice thought over what Van Helsing said. "Wait, camp? We're gonna stay out in the woods at night?"
"Mind telling me?" Beatrice asked. "I want to be of more use."
"No one can live that long... unless they're a vampire...." Beatrice said softly.
"But then... you must be one of them." Beatrice tried to piece things together.
Beatrice's eyes widened. "But that's impossible...."
Beatrice tilted her head. "How come?"
"I grew up with my parents and siblings." Beatrice replied. "My younger sister died when she was four, I was seven. I don't really remember much about her, but I still miss her. My parents still refuse to tell me what happened to her. I never got to see her body.... All I can do is hope that she died peacefully." She laughed nervously, trying to break the tension. "Well... there's really not anything interesting about me; just your average farm girl."
"What about you?" Beatrice asked.
Beatrice nodded. "Is that good or bad...?"
Beatrice paused; she hadn't given a thought about what she was going to do, she was too busy thinking about what was done. "Um, I don't really know."
Beatrice was thinking over everything that had happened. She felt a bit out of place, but at least she wasn't the only human in the strange group. Her thoughts rested on Hannah and Edward. She'd never seen a vampire and werewolf so close together and not tearing each other's hearts out, let alone loving the other. It all seemed so strange to her. I'll never really understand it. She thought. Why did Cupid strike such oposites? How could they ever be happy and safe together? She was jarred from her thoughts at the approach of the new werewolf.
"I think it was out of pity." Beatrice said. "What do you think of him?"
