I agree. Every ending has me looking forward to more, the endings in this series are masterfully crafted works. I completely understand, I have so many memories with Hollow Bastion. I probably spent enough time there to rival the amount of time I spent on the rest of the game combined. Hollow Bastions theme, level design, and battle sequences will forever be burnt into my mind. I wasn't just asking for a single moment, just the one(s) that you found to be most nostalgic, to which you've answered beautifully. If anyone has any others they'd like to include, feel free. I can relate wholeheartedly with your post though. I've not felt such heartache and passion in a video game before the Kingdom Hearts series, nor have I thus far.
Not quite sure. .-.
I'd do the same, just leave the title screen up and work on homework or go about doing something else. I remember recording it with my very first cellphone so I could have it as a ringtone, needless to say for back then, it turned out very low quality and sounded near-mutilated. Still brings back good times though!
So tired, just a moments rest is all I need. I need a drop gauge. .-.
I think I'd probably end up taking Traverse Town given the option, due to the previous stated facts that it's got a wonderful atmosphere and a great community, though realistically it reminds me of a location in Arizona. I can't remember the name for the life of me but it looked and felt very similarly to the first district. They also blasted music around each block, I couldn't help but think how rad it'd be if someone would just sneak up and pop in the Traverse Town Theme. Even then... Destiny Islands are a very close second. >.>
Yeah, I battled him again. The first time I fought him when I was younger, it took me at least 2-3 tries. The save that I was on, I'd reached the max level so it was somewhat a bit easier.
Both.
Unfortunately I haven't completed DDD just yet, but I've seen the cutscene thanks to Youtube, and I'm stoked to finish it. Understandable, it's hard to pick favourites when it comes to this series... I absolutely loved that speech though. Very well done. Makes sense, I thought it was pretty interesting how they were always just MOMENTS away from each other. Frustrated me to no end during my first play through. I remember running back to the previous area frequently, continuously hoping they'd still be there. -.- Unfortunately I hadn't ever had the chance to play BbS, but I remember watching bits and pieces on Youtube and given the opportunity, I'd imagine I'd love every second of it. I Love scenes like that in this series, they seem to hold so much power and emotion in every essence of their cutscenes, even in those intended for comic relief. Right? No matter where I am or what time, if I hear Dearly Beloved, Simple and Clean, Sanctuary, or Passion I immediately stop what I'm doing and experience waves of chills and goosebumps. Such raw energy in those songs; such deep and powerful meaning. By the way, I also really dig your Silent Hill related avatar. Speaking of which, I visited home earlier today for the first time in a while, and put in Kingdom Hearts again. One of my saves was JUST before that part and I absolutely HAD to play it again. I can relate wholeheartedly.
Thank you! I'm really glad to hear that, I'll post a bit more here and there over time for sure. :D I appreciate it, thank you! I'll be sure to post a bit more when I've got more free time.
What moment from the Kingdom Hearts series do you find most nostalgic? Also, what moment was your favourite? I've been thinking over the past few days and I've come to the conclusion that my answer to both of these questions is the moment in Hollow Bastion when Sora becomes a Shadow Heartless. When I was younger this completely took me by surprise and I spent about two hours just running around the castle completely and utterly stoked that I could play as a heartless. Looking back I suppose that's somewhat goofy, but I found the sudden role change pretty nifty and emotionally stimulating.
Pleasure to meet you. Good to be here, best wishes!
Thanks! I posted a bit of poetry there early this morning, so we'll see how that goes. I agree, much appreciated!
Well, here I am giving the Creativity Corner a shot. I don't usually post my poetry outside of my regular posting site due to the fact that very few are aware of it, but I figured I should try to break out of my habits a bit. I generally title my poetry in foreign languages such as Irish Gaeilge in this case, so for this post I've translated the title to English in the "Thread Title". This is my most recent poem. Is è an Spèir Do. Demons waltz the Earth's circumference as "Saints" sip their coffee in bed. Funny how these days the skies transition back and forth from blue to red. I always found it interesting how the loneliest individual could be in a crowd. Equally, the most chaotic hide flaming nostrils behind an aesthetic shroud. The air is pungent with the aroma of petrichor and the stench of brimstone. Despite the cool air I can't help but feel like I've been drenched in acetone. With a pocket full of strike-anywhere matches I feel as though I'm burning. Even though just a single day's escape is all that I can really see myself yearning. Just another day in paradise I suppose, then this will all pass eventually. I just hope things pass sooner rather than later, even if it's accidentally.
Thanks, Nights, it's a pleasure to become involved. Oddly enough my English major is actually emphasized in Creative Writing, so I'll be sure to check it out when I've got a bit more time. Much appreciated! Good to know I'm doing well with my usage of the English language, it's been one of my favourites as well. Best wishes!
...
Anxiously awaiting the Fall US release of this. Debating on purchasing a PS3 due to this release actually. I hear the PS4 release date may be sometime near after Fall, so would Purchasing a PS3 for this release as well as a few others like Shadow of the Colossus HD/backward compatible PS2 releases be in vain? I'm mainly just looking to relive a bit of my childhood and play Chain of Memories, seeing as I never had a chance to in the past. Maybe this release would extend the PS3's shelf life a bit?
Thanks! Will do! Much appreciated, I'll keep that in mind. Thanks, much appreciated. I'll be sure to keep integrated and ask questions when in doubt. Thank you, I appreciate it! So far, so good. Best wishes!
And Doctor Who, by the looks of it! I appreciate the welcome! Thanks! I'll do my best to remain active despite my courses and what not! I've done my fair share of lurking over the years, so I'll do my best to follow the guidelines.
I've been visiting the site for a few years now and have finally decided to request permission to board the KH-Vids.net Gummi Ship. I'm currently attending University as an English major, but nearing the end of my first year, so hopefully I'll be able to jump in more frequently in upcoming months. Kingdom Hearts has played a MASSIVE role in my childhood as well as my current years, It's been absolutely wonderful. The nostalgia I get from Kingdom Hearts rivals that of The Legend of Zelda, which was the very first video game that I owned for my NES as a child. I enjoy writing, drawing, and playing my guitar in my free time as well as skateboarding when the weather allows. I suppose that's pretty much the gist of things, but there's far more than just that keeping the cogs turning. If there are any questions, feel free to ask. Best wishes!
I've been having these weird thoughts lately...
