Therity walked back into the guild hall a while later, after walking the halls of the guild. Conviently, the missions were being posted on the board as she walked in. Avoiding Taylor, she walked calmly to the board and picked out the first one she saw. She picked out the first one she saw, and walked over to Cassandra's table just in time to hear her little speech. She sat down near the S-class wizard, indicating that she was going on that was, in the mission leader's words, brave enough to go on the mission. So Zwei had decided to tell her the short story. It was indeed a very short story. "It's good that you decided to change," Taylor commented. "I'm glad you're here." She looked up when the noise level rose again. It seemed that the missions were up on the board. Standing up, she said to Zwei, "Nice talking to you. Should we go pick out our missions? I suppose that's what we do now, right?" She smiled at her friend and turned and walked to where people were beginning to stand around. She was interested in the one that Cassandra was leading, but when Taylor turned around, she noticed that Therity was already over there. Scowling, she turned back to pick a new mission. There was one being led by a man named Zephyros, but looking around, Taylor didn't see any men standing taking missions yet. Deciding to wait, Taylor stood with her back and one foot against a wall, and observed the guild hall.
Taylor for 5, Therity for 4 Thanks!
"Whichever you prefer," Taylor replied to Zwei. "I have time for the long version, but if you don't want to tell the whole thing then the short version is fine, too."
Taylor sighed, trying to push the last of her emotions back into the depths of her mind. She turned back to Zwei and motioned him to follow her before moving to a table and slumping down in one of the seats. Looking down at her hands, she replied, "Nothing interesting, really. High school, developing magic, guitar, and a club that I formed with a few of my friends in school. I don't really have that interesting of a background." Taylor paused and made eye contact with Zwei before continuing. "How about you? Is your story any more interesting than my boring, generic one?"
Taylor grunted in acknowledgement. It wasn't like she was trying to remember the painful years though. They'd been locked away in her own little safe in the back of her mind before she'd seen Therity. After a few minutes, she'd calmed down some and unclenched her hands. "Thanks, Zwei," she mumbled. She appreciated him trying to cheer her up - he was a good guy, and a good friend. She was glad he wasn't a chick, so things could hopefully stay this way without getting awkward.
Taylor relaxed when he said that he hadn't seen anyone matching her description at the guild. Who was Abigale? She took a deep breath and pressed the right sleeve of her shirt against the corner of her eyes to soak up the remaining that threatened to overflow from previous flooding. "A bitch," Taylor replied bluntly. She then added, softly so that it would be next to impossible for anyone except Zwei to hear (and even Zwei might not catch it), "She made me my life a living hell and made me try to kill myself." Taylor's hands clenched into fists.
Taylor was a little bit reassured by Zwei's not recognizing Abi's name. But he was still semi new too, and he probably didn't know everyone yet. "She looks a lot like Therity, except darker eyes and her hair is more of a golden blonde as opposed to Therity's white blonde." Sobs still threatened to rack Taylor's body, but she was a little calmer now.
Taylor stopped when she realized Zwei was walking behind her, causing him to bump into her. She stayed silent for a minute, before her whole body began to shake from dry, invisible sobs. Her bangs covered her eyes, so nobody could see the tears welling up in her eyes. After a few moments, she asked quietly, "Do you know if there is a girl named Abigale in this guild?"
"I-" Taylor mumbled. "I don't think so." She began to walk away slowly, somewhat in a trance from remembering.
Taylor grinned. "That's a really cool name! So I take it that he was a boy, then? Grif seems like a boy name." The name had a nice ring to it. Zwei clearly had good taste. Taylor opened her mouth to talk again, intending to bring up music and ask her friend what his favorite song was, but heard the felt someone's eyes on her. She turned around, and looked at the sea of faces, searching for the one whose stare she felt. Not noticing anyone, she turned back to Zwei, her thoughts somewhat distracted off of the topic of music. "Do you ever get the feeling that someone's star-" she began, before she finally noticed the culprit behind Zwei still near the door. Taylor's face hardened as she recognized the girl. Her features had matured since Taylor had last seen her, but that was definitely her. "Therity," she said coldly, her friendly demeanor gone for the moment. Therity's eyes narrowed as Taylor met her stare. That's right, she had last seen her ten years ago, when her family left the town. Therity's own sister had been best friends with Taylor when the two were only kids, which was when Taylor was approxomately ten or eleven. Therity couldn't remember the exact year. Taylor had told Abigale a dangerous secret, and Abigale, not really knowing better at the time, told the wrong people, who spread it around the town. Eventually Abi, too, turned against her best friend and joined the ridicule that the entire community was giving Taylor for being a lesbaian. Not long after, Taylor's family left the town and Therity assumed that the kid had committed suicide. Astonished and a little shaken at Taylor's appearance here, Therity turned and walked away, her not allowing her face to give away any of the rare emotions going flowing freely through her body. Taylor stared at Therity's back as the older woman walked away. Taylor's hands balled into fists at the sight of her. So she was here. At the guild. At her new home. Was Abigale a member of the guild, too? Those two were super close, so she wouldn't be surprised if Abi had followed her older sister here. Taylor would have to quit if her former friend was here. She could not live with that. Taylor stood up abruptly, fear and anger and sadness all somewhat evident on her face as she recalled lost memories. "I think I have to go," she said, but couldn't make herself move.
Therity completely ignored the events occuring in the guild hall, as none of them directly affected her. However, she did notice someone she thought she recognized sitting at the bar. Someone from her past, someone who she hadn't seen in over ten years, and someone who she had killed herself. "Taylor?" she whispered to herself in disbelief.
"Hmm?" Taylor eventually said, looking up drowsily. Before she had a chance to register that it was actually Zwei that was talking to her, two major events occured in the guild hall as people began to come back from their missions. The first involved her lover playing matchmaker for what seemed to be an innocent girl. She winced sympathetically at the spinning thing; that probably wasn't pleasant. Once the she had been 'paired' with an unsuspecting young... bird, they were whisked away. Almost immediately following, Evanora punished a short tempered man for breaking a major rule. Well, maybe he deserved it. Breaking the rules wasn't cool, even if you need money, although the decision, once thought about a little, seemed to be more of a burden on the S-Class wizards than the rule-breaker himself. After everything had already happened and her mind was more alert, her attention shot back to Zwei. "Did I finish what I went to- Oh yeah! I remember now. I got... sidetracked. Did you just put the cat in your room, then? And what'd you name him?" Taylor inquired cheerfully, glad to have someone to talk to again.
Therity would like to spend her two points on Natsu. In addition, she'd like to buy and equip a Skill Ring. Also I'd like to ravamp her entire AS abilities so that they include: Sliding Dash Binding Strike Blitz Magnet Aerora Thundara Current Jewels: 278
Therity watched the 'sky' shatter somewhat smugly, and ignored Ander's comment. He clearly didn't know what he was talking about; the mission wouldn't have been finished unless they had resolved the issue then, which they had. When the group reached the village, Therity was rather intrigued by the revealance of the demons' natural forms. Interesting, so rather than effecting their actual body, it effected their memory. I'll have to remember that, she thought to herself as she boarded the boat to go back to the guild hall.
"You're right. We still need to finish the mission," Therity said as she recovered from the stun, pushing herself to her feet. She nodded at Ra as he confirmed what she already knew about Moon Drip being the cause of their curse. "The main side effect of Moon Drip is the production of exhaust fumes, sort of a residue Magic, that crystallize over the sky. The intense magical energy is also most likely effecting the villagers, and causing them to switch forms. This probably happened around the time that the moon 'became purple'," she used air quotes to emphasize those words, "since that's when the magical energy began to build up. It's also why they think the moon itself is to blame, when it's really the effects of Moon Drip." She paused to look at the faces around her and take a breath. "If we can destroy the crystalized magical energy in the sky, the villagers should go back to the way they were."
Therity looked up at Boreal, disgusted by her work. She had done minimal damage, and he wasn't on the ground yet so she still couldn't use her physical attacks. Get down here you bastard, Therity thought venomously as she launched another wind attack. Therity used Aero.
So Boreal was off the ground, which meant that Therity couldn't use Blitz. That sucked, her magic power was much weaker than her physical strength. Shaking her head, she looked back towards the sky. Even if she couldn't use her primary attack, she was still determined to do some damage. She held out her hand and pushed a gust of air towards her target. Therity used Aero.
Therity used Basic attack on the Crystallarax.
So the fight was over, just like that. The sudden lack of entertainment sent Taylor flying directly into boredom's arms. Sighing, she looked around. She could get wasted with some tough looking men, but she had never been really into that and knew she was a lightweight. She didn't really feel like taking her guitar out either, as she wasn't in the mood. "Ugh," she mumbled. She crossed her arms over each other and lay her head on the table in front of her.
((Thanks Alex lol)) Therity was somewhat amused by Boreal's reaction to the tentacle porn incedent, but the retaliation he had againt Gaius had to hurt. And to top it all off, he surrounded himself with more freaking birds and dragons and shit. So, apparently this guy couldn't fight for himself and had to resort for his minions to fight for him. That's a form of strength, I guess, Therity thought. This needs to end now, though. I'm done wasting my time with this jackass. Therity used Blitz on the dragon thing. Taylor finally managed to finish putting clothes on, and stayed to enjoy the view from the top of the guild hall while Beucette left. Eventually, she made her way downstairs but decided not to go back to the guild hall. She was pretty wiped out right then; she hadn't expected to have sex on her first day at the guild, and she had been totally unprepared for the intensity of it. Instead, she wandered around until she found her room and lay down on a bed, looking up at the bunk above her. Suddenly, one of her old memories came back to her, and she began to feel herself sinking into a slight depression. No, she thought, sitting up. I have to get out of here and talk to people. I won't allow this to happen to me again. Several minutes later, Taylor found herself standing in the entrance to the main dining room area, or whatever these people wanted to call it. The common room, whatever. She was standing there. Most of the people around her seemed to be enjoying themselves to say the least, with the exception of a few, including one girl with raven black hair. However, somebody was already comforting her, so instead she sat down at the bar and watched the fight between a fellow new guild member and a clearly more experienced girl who also served as the bartender from earlier, silently cheering for the newbie, and intrigued when he decided to cure his opponent instead of actually fighting her.
