Awesome taste. (I don't like all of the bands, but yeah) If you like Nirvana, Foo Fighters, STP, and The Beatles you should check out some early Smashing Pumpkins stuff. It's amazing. Start with Siamese Dream and if you like it get Gish, If you like those get Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness.
Mainstream rap is horrible. Best rap ever = Beastie Boys, Run DMC and Cypress Hill. :)
