I have the Japanese version, got it back when the game came out in Japan in March. I'm currently LPing it on Game Anyone as well.
Any questions you need, just ask me. Everything so far is exactly the same when it comes to how cutscenes are in the Final Mix game, only difference being the voices are Japanese.

    It really depends for me.
For imports I generally try to see if I can get them from Play Asia as they've got good shipping times, but for the older games that aren't available there, and old games in general, I tend to go to Amazon for them. If I'm really desperate then I'll go and get a game from eBay, but I try to avoid eBay and Paypal a lot really.

For newer releases I rend to go to GameStop, but I don't buy many new games that often.

I already downloaded them an they are saved to my computer in files that can be opened by word. I'll tell you when I'm done, and thanks.

Anyway, yeah I guess I can hype myself by saying that I'm getting the artbook, but then I wonder, will the English trophies and Japanese trophies differentiate, or will the combine. Mainly because this was my first PS3 import as normally I import stuff for the PS2, PSP, Wii, DS, and GameCube.

I'm tempted to just grab myself a copy of the English version to help out more, but since I have the Japanese one I saw no need to. Looks like I'll be getting 3 copies of Final Mix by the end of this.

That was one of the only added in cutscenes out of all the Final Mix games to actually get voice over work on it. The other one being in the secret chapter in Birth by Sleep Final Mix before you fight the Unnamed Heartless at the end as Megumi Toyoguchi actually voiced the dialogue for it. That instance being the only time that the Final Mix games had both English and Japanese voice acting in it together, even though it was minuscule.

Also, just to remain on topic, has someone already done all the descriptions for the items? I'm just wondering since we still don't know if the English version for Final Mix will be calling the synthesis items that the "new" Heartless drop Goos or not.

Mainly referring to the Unknown battle opening cutscene because you could tell that they took audio clips and spliced them together, and if they don't voice that scene then it is weird. Then again as your signature shows, consistency isn't exactly Square Enix's strong point. :P

Well dang, was kinda hoping they'd fix at least some of the audio issues with the first Final Mix, but I guess I'm just asking for too much for an HD remake.

    *glomps hugs*
Thank you. Now that I'm done with my YT LPs for now and it's the weekend I can translate more. This makes Roxas1359 a happy little boy.

They are rerecording all the voice acting for the English version actually.
If you go on the IMDBs for the voice actors for the Disney characters their voice actors are referenced as appearing in the HD 1.5 ReMix, plus I remember months back when Jesse McCarteny, Roxas' voice actor, tweeted a picture of them recording the voices for 358/2 Days HD's cutscenes. So I think they are actually rerecording the voices in general since there are some differences.

Funny thing is that Nomura in an interview said that they originally had to decide whether to fully remake 358/2 Days for the HD 1.5 ReMix or only do the cutscenes, and for time's sake he just had the cutscenes remastered. Although I would love to play 358/2 Days HD on a console instead of the DS.

Eh most of the bugs that were in the Japanese version will be fixed more than likely. Mainly the lip syncing issue since they are rerecording the audio for the English version of the HD 1.5 ReMix. The Japanese one didn't really get that treatment and it seems that they just put the original Kingdom Hearts 1 audio over it as some of the cutscenes I've noticed aren't voiced like they are supposed to, and I am mainly referring to the added scenes.

It's weird at first, but the more you play the Final Mix games the weirder it feels to fight Heartless in their original color scheme. However the first Final Mix didn't recolor nearly as many as the second Final Mix did. For example, the mini Guard Armor Heartless is still red, the all the Heartless with a color in their name are the same (Red Nocturne, Blue Rhapsody, Yellow Opera, Green Requiem, White Mushroom, Black Fungus), but then some of them just didn't get one at all like the Rare Truffle.

Out of all the recolors the Trickster's is probably the most thematically appropriate as they added musical notes coming out from the top of his head, and he's pink!

Pretty much this. If you have the Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMix the credits at the main selection screen that unlock when you beat one of the games shows scenes from Birth by Sleep Final Mix, Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix Plus, and Re: Coded remastered cutscenes. Plus I remember Nomura saying something like "it would be dumb not to remaster Kingdom Hearts 2" at some point, but I may be wrong.

On this note most likely not many people have seen the credits because they don't wanna spoil anything about the 1.5 ReMix for them at all.

That would make me happy. It would also make me productive. If I could just get then then I's download then and edit them in word since I have Japanese programmed into my computer. Sorry for the trouble, I just don't wanna fiddle around and possibly break something.

I'll figure it out eventually I'm sure. If worst comes to worst I can just go to beta testing.

You'd be surprised how many people actually don't know that the Final Mix games exist.

OT: Well I'm still debating on whether to get myself a copy or not since I already have the Japanese 1.5 ReMix. On another note I suggest preparing for the copyright sweep Square Enix and EMI Studios Japan is gonna do again. Back when the game first came out in Japan back in March EMI Studios Japan flagged every single video that played even the tiniest bit of Simple and Clean/Hikari, even to those who are in Networks. I wouldn't be surprised if they do another sweep like that again, so prepare your content ID match disputes fellow Kingdom Hearts fans! Prepare for the battle to save yourself from a possible copyright strike.

Yay, now people are gonna start commenting on how I "got the translation wrong". XD
I kid, but I find it weird that they're calling it Hurricane Blast since it literally says Hurricane Period in katakana.

I still need to learn how to work with ARDs so then I can continue with Hollow Bastion. :P
Also, I noticed some parts of Traverse Town that I perhaps could help with.

It varies depending on the cutscenes. but they all got the models. I know what video you're talking about and I don't agree with everything that person said, especially in the case of 358/2 Days HD. He is correct about the lip syncing issues though, however Nomura said that they lost a lot of the data on Kingdom Hearts and Kingdom Hearts Final Mix so they had to build it mainly from scratch, it's why the Final Mix HD probably has the most polish of all. Re: Chain of Memories HD was the lazy one though and that one I won't defend.

Would've taken longer to work it out since they were on a timetable and had to work the most on Final Mix HD. The English and European version actually are going to have even more polish and all the things you saw in that Deep analysis video will be probably fixed since they are rerecording all the audio for the NTSC and PAL version of the HD 1.5 ReMix. Heck if you wanna go one step further they didn't even rerecord the audio for the Japanese one really since the added cutscenes aren't voiced still.

I can answer this since I've had HD 1.5 ReMix since it came out. Besides using newer models based on the ones from Dream Drop Distance they smoothed out the graphics a lot on the worlds and the Keyblades themselves have touch ups done on them. Really that is all that would be important in this case. Due to the limitations of the PS2 and PSX2 really I see the touch up on the keyblades being the most possible. I can take some pictures later if you want and upload them here.

Who wears short shorts, apparently Sora. Although the Limit Form version for his clothes in Kingdom Hearts 2 Final Mix Plus were pretty interesting.
