I found this somewhat weird though, Saix says the organization remembers what their hearts feel like, but when Sora asks Xemnas if he remembers, Xemnas says he doesn't.
Personally I think that Ansem Seeker of Darkness is trapped in the realm of darkness, attached to that...ship...like...thing. Therefore he needs a way to be in the real world. So he uses some of his power to channel the cloaked version of him until he finds a host. The host body needs the power of darkness so Ansem can sustain himself in the real world.
