Though I'm pretty sure Terra is KH2!Xehanort. If anything he kills the Baldy who is most likely the Oirginal Xehanort who most likely kills Aqua and Ven. Hence the hatred of Terra's towards Baldy!Norty and possibly why the only way you can get to fight Terra is after you kill Xemnas which is probably so since the heartless was defeated so his heart freed and killing the nobody sends it back to darkness where it waits for it's heart to be reborn.
I think he was talking more about why Riku chose Sora over Roxas then about Terra. After all Riku did choose Sora over Roxas when he could have just let Roxas be. Plus when he looks down and sees Sora standing inbetween Riku and Kairi's picture, connection the two Roxas goes "I see... That's why..." I do have a deivantART account under the same name as this one.

Allow me to add more to that. Mostly theory but yes allow me to add. Roxas isn't merely Ven reincarnated. There is a strong possiblity he IS Ven. According to Xigbar to have a room of sleep you have to have a room of awakening. If the room of sleep is where Aqua is then the room of awakening would be where Ven is. Axel asks Roxas if he has a heart and Roxas doesn't really give him an answer. Now if we toss in the whole Sora's heart held Kairi's heart, then who's to say it couldn't hold something else. What if Sora's heart is infact the room of awakening? And because of that Sora's Nobody came out looking like Ven. This would also explains why Terra says he feels like he's met Sora somewhere before.

That's an easy one to explain. Now KH2!Xehanort lost his memories, but if you had a deep hatred for something not even lost memories can erase it. Xehanort his only memory, his only connection to who he was. So he kept that name, hoping it would help his memories come back. Only it did the opposite and made him into the character we know and love today. However when Xemnas found Aqua in the room of sleep he started to remember who he was. Thus after you beat Xemnas, his nobody and his heartless become one and you get the Lingering Spirit AKA Terra.
Ok this might help but it's also based on a theory and what I've learned from FM+. Terra and Xemnas/KH2!Xehanort are most likely the same person. So if you put that in that light KH2!Xehanort's Heartless would be Terra's Heartless thus there's the connection to Riku and Terra besides their names. Ventus is the full word for Air in Latin. So Since Nomura said Ven is a nickname Ventus is probably his full name.
Maybe I can help though it's more based on a theory and what I've witnessed playing FM+. There is a miss translated line in the video though. Terra doesn't say "Who are you" he says "What are you". "Aqua... Ven... Keyblade... What are you? I can feel it... we have met before... it was when... No... it isn't you... It isn't you that I have chosen... Why is it not him... Xe... ha... nort... is that you? Xeha... nort... Xehanort!" Terra wasn't feeling the keyblade he was feeling Roxas. According to Nomura Roxas and Ven are connected, and according to Axel, Roxas has a heart, and lastly according to Xigbar in order to have a room of sleep you have to have a room of awakening which is where the other 'friend' is. So with all of that you throw it together and you get this: If Roxas and Ven are connect then possibly Sora's heart is the Room of Awakening and the reason why Terra says they have met before is because he can feel that tiny connection to Ven in Sora but when he realizes he is NOT Ven he thinks he's being had by Xehanort (who I believe the real Xehanort is the bald guy) and gets angry.
Not probable because Kairi would have already been born during the Keyblade wars and Aqua looks too young to be a mother.
