Don' t you have news about Egypt in Holland ? It' s all over the front pages here.
For some reason I can' t find any recent news about it in English.
Internet was entirely shut down in Egypt for a while, but it' s back online now.
In case you happen to speak/read French :

    http://www.itele.fr/video/les-manifestants-ne-desarment-pas

The manifestations turned into a battle three days ago, but the army managed to cool down the situation.
Edit : wait, I found something in Arab : http://www.rbctwitter.com/80665-new...ations-between-citizens-and-security-forces-/

    One Piece

It' s not like it was 40 volumes of boring stuff ! ^^
Anyway, the author wrote in volume 50 something that the series was right in the middle of the story, so we can expect 10 more years of adventures.

    Guns

^What are you talking about ? There' s already a good way to divide people, it' s called money. Guns aren' t free. Furthermore there' s already a shitload of professions that give you access to things that are banned to the public. Why ? Cause they' re dangerous and a certain knowledge is required to handle them.
If cops manage to screw things up when handling guns despite their long training I don' t expect Mr Average Moron to do any better. You want everyone to be able to have a gun ? Fine, then have them train as much as cops do and have them monitored as closely as cops are. Otherwise there IS an imbalance.

Yeah cause, you know, European countries are even more violent than the worse American hood nowadays.
I don' t think I ever heard of someone attempting a robbery with a knife. If you can' t have a gun, thugs can' t either. If they couldn' t have a gun, the coward' s choice weapon, then maybe most of them would think twice before doing anything bold.

The smart move, I think, would be to at least try. Ban guns for, like, five years, see where it leads you, if there' s any impact on criminality statistics, and then let people vote. That' s what people do in a democracy, right ? Try stuff, vote stuff ...
OK, maybe five years aren' t nearly enough to see if it has any impact, but I' d be really curious to find out how many American people actually want guns to be legal.

Yeah, whatever the next game they throw at us is that principle will apply. It' s the shonen rule, always leave the audience expecting something, always create new questions when you answer old ones. The day SE announced that KH was becoming their third main tittle along with FF and DQ it became clear that they were gonna use that kind of storytelling. Even KH3 won' t be a definitive conclusion to the saga since a chapter 2 is already being thought of. KH3 ending will look like a TV show season ending. Kinda like " HA ! You thought Aizen/Xehanort had been dealt with, but oh noez, wait, look at that, there' s more coming !
As long as the games sell well the they' ll throw mystery at the audience, it' s the never ending story. Nomura is in the same situation that Toriyama was with Dragon Ball, he' s a prisoner of his own success.

I totally understand why people would get angry at filler games like Re:Coded though ...

I loved evangelion, the show was great and I also liked the opening. Another of my favorites is GTO, the first opening remains the best one IMO :

I wonder why people keep complaining about KH3. Maybe Nomura should have called 358/2 Days KH3, BBS KH4, DDD KH5 and so forth ...
OK, I guess people don' t want KH3 as much as they want a PS3 conclusion to the saga, but then Nomura stated again and again that he would NOT start working on it until FFVsXIII is released. Since FFVsXIII still doesn' t even have a release date announced to begin with, and that it has been in the works for ... how long has it been now, five years ? I guess even hoping to see KH3 released in 2013 is utterly unrealistic. I don' t expect Nomura to make KH3 in just one freaking year, his team clearly doesn' t work that fast. So, do I want some handheld episodes to wait in the meantime ? Hell yeah !

I don' t even especially wait a PS3 HD episode since the Disney aesthetic don' t require it : Twilight Town was modeled in such a squarish polygony way that they even managed to recreate it on a DS. Let' s face it, KH1 and 2 didn' t nearly began to tap into the PS2 potential. That' s on purpose of course, most Disney movies (especially the old ones) have such a simple and squarish aesthetic that Nomura has to work around that and balance the overall look of the games. I really don' t expect KH3 to tap into the PS3 potential either, I don' t think "saving" any favorite worlds for the PS3 release would improve them much ...

As for those who expect an ending in order to move on, it' s simple. KH is based on Disney movies so in the end Sora saves the day, helps everyone, defeats the bad guy, marries the girl and lives happily ever after. There you have it !

    Guns

I think you raised a good point in the Arizona shooting thread :
IMO guns can only lead to bad things. I cannot see a single good thing a gun could bring to someone who is neither a cop nor a hunter. That' s why I wouldn' t see any problem in simply forbidding them. BUT I' m French. I do not know anyone here who would want a gun. Not a single soul. What for ? It' s not like we fear we might need one someday. On the other hand anyone can have a gun in America, and lots of people do have one, indeed. That knowledge can only lead to fear and paranoia, which of course in turn leads even more people to want to have one just in case ... I guess there' s a huge cultural difference here.

There' s also what I call the "Lord of the Ring" symptom : when you' re used to be allowed to have something then forbidding it can only be perceived as a hindrance, an inconvenience, (my prrrrecious).

Well you may not like it, but the "dream drop" metaphor was used in KH from day 1. The whole saga is built on metaphors (sleep = death, waking = growing/birth etc ...) We saw Sora/Roxas/Ven flying asleep or drowning/dropping in their dreams. Awaking the Keyblade always involved one of those sequences.

As with most common dream themes, falling is an indication of insecurities, instabilities, and anxieties. You are feeling overwhelmed and out of control in some situation in your waking life. This may reflect the way you feel in your relationship or in your work environment. You have lost your foothold and keep up with the hustle and bustle of daily life. When you fall, there is nothing that you can hold on to. You more or less are forced toward this downward motion without any control. This lost of control may parallel a waking situation in your life.
    http://www.dreammoods.com/cgibin/fallingdreams.pl?method=exact&header=dreamid&search=fallingintro

Funny how that could perfectly apply to Sora/Riku/Kairi/Xehanort, they all felt stucked and helpless on Destiny Island (the boonies).
Do I have to mention Aqua helplessly watching Ven falling ?

The falling sequences can be a metaphor for death (Ven/Terra), fear/insecurities (Roxas/Sora/Ven/Terra/Aqua) and growing (Sora). In KH DDD we' ll see Sora and Riku awaking their mark of mastery and getting ready for their final fight. In other words it' s time for Sora and Riku to leave their childhood behind. I take the Sora rain as the visual metaphor of that fact, even if I don' t know yet why Riku would actually witness it.
Dream Drop Distance = how much training does Sora have to do in order to feel/be ready ?

That' s the only thing I was looking forward to, but nope, no date ... On the other hand I' d rather wait and have a kick-ass game, a long-polished jewel, than have SE speeding and releasing an unfinished game just to meet a deadline, like FFXIII.

The game will be released in 2011 (so I guess we should expect a copied and pasted gameplay rather than a fixed one).

FFType 0 is the definitive tittle for Agito (which isn' t a Fabula Nova Crystallis game anymore) and will be released this summer in Japan. The game will feature 2 UMDs !!!

A new FFVsXIII trailer has been shown, the game will remain a PS3 exclusive, hurrah !

    They announced KH3D official tittle.
Kingdom Hearts : DREAM DROP DISTANCE

Dissidia : Prologus is a duodecim demo that will be available on the Japanese PSN. Those who pay to download it will unlock Aerith as an assist character in Duodecim. Prische, a FFXI character, has been announced as a playable character. Gilgamesh has been announced too (but I don' t know if he' s playable).

FFXIII-2 confirmed (Yay ?). The story will start a few minutes after FFXIII ending. Both PS3 and 360 releases, no date.

What should we Europeans say then ?
