The one who posted that list claims it came from "a friend of his who has a contact in NoA". Sure.
All the other users on NeoGAF seemed extremely doubtful about that list being anything but a gamer' s wish list.
Honestly I hope it' s fake, I mean come on, a new KH on Café ? ANOTHER ****ing console to buy ? Does Nomura want someone to put out a contract on his head ?

Well that' s the thing, since English isn' t a dead language the only way to remain as accurate as possible is to update the translation once in a while. The problem isn' t "which word was used exactly ?", it' s "what' s the exact meaning of the word that was used ?".
A literal translation is almost always a bad one, especially since there are some things you just cannot translate at all. A translation is, by its very nature, a treason. The only way for anyone to read the "true" Bible would be to learn Hebrew, and even then, since Hebrew is a dead language its exact meaning is subject to debate so you' re screwed !

Just a quick example of how bad a literal translation can be:
    French : J' ai la pêche !
Literal English translation : either "I' ve got the peach !" or "I' ve got the fishing !"
Correct English translation : I'm just peachy !

Whether the new translation changes the previous translation meaning (young maiden/virgin) or not (brothers/brothers and sisters) I think it bothers people because it' s a treason to the translation they' ve grown to know and love, regardless of any accuracy concern.

I didn' t enjoy it nearly as much as I enjoyed FFT.
Both FFTA have short kindergarten stories compared to FFT complex scenario.
The races concept seemed like a good idea, but in the end it just felt like a character customization limitation, and the judges were just a HUGE pain in the ass. At least we did' t have to wait for MPs to grow, as in FFTA2 (meaning spells were utterly useless).

Yeah, I figured he might be trolling, I just had some venting out to do. ^^
People sheepishly agreeing to the general consensus can be found all over the world, unfortunately.

How about making up your own damn mind rather than taking IGN' s review as word of god ?
Saying that a game isn' t good enough just because X says so is the lamest argument ever.
Even then, 8.5 is an outstanding mark, the US web notation system is loco. If 8.5 isn' t a good game I don' t know what is. Furthermore when I read a review I don' t give a **** about the marks, what I really care about is the review itself. The fact that game A was graded 8 and game B graded 9 doesn' t necessarily mean I' ll enjoy B more than A, but reading the review might give me an idea about which game would be the right pick for me. In the end lots of games get both excellent and bad reviews, the only way for me to know for sure where I stand is to play them myself.
From what I' ve seen LA Noire is a Heavy Rain-like game with action sequences, have you played Heavy Rain ? Would you say LA Noire is better or along the same line ?

I just love how every single Christian has his own definition of what a "true" or "false" Christian is. If I was to ask every single Christian what' s his take on the Bible (or every Muslim what' s his take on the Coran etc ...) I would end up with thousands of viewpoints, most probably claiming to be closer to the "right" viewpoint than mine since I' m agnostic.

You know what they say, when you talk to God it' s prayer, when God talks to you it' s schizophrenia (copyright Fox Mulder).
Correct me if I' m wrong, isn' t God supposed to speak in riddles ? I' m not sure the Bible, given the way it' s written and the many translations (i.e. modifications) it went through, is any easier to decipher correctly.
Plus, you know, beware of false prophets, bladiblablablah ...

So ... he created us in His image, gave us the ability to feel and think, gave us free will ... and yet the only way to fully understand him (if that' s even possible) isn' t to listen to the mind and heart that He gave us, but rather to read a damn book that nothing can prove to be legit, believe that He exists, talk to him and follow rituals (rituals which, for a strange reason, involve giving money to the religious order which translated, modified, and maybe even wrote the Bible to begin with) ? I' m afraid I don' t get it ...

If you' re talking about what was shown in the BBS FM secret ending there' s a topic about it here :
    http://www.kh-vids.net/showthread.p...Sleep-Final-Mix-Prepare-for-the-Secret-Ending

Now that you mention it, E3 might be a good time for SE to start talking about it (at least disclose an official tittle and/or reveal on which system it will be released).

SE Masterpieces, is it about FF ? KH ? Both ?
Edit : It was only trademarked in Europe, maybe SE finally decided to fill the European gap (Chrono Cross, Parasite Eve etc ...)
Also, one of the projects that SE abandoned this year was Final Fantasy Haeresis XIII (abandoned April 25).

Was there more than eight words in your post ? I know that rule is ****ing frustrating since a post doesn' t necessary need more than eight words to not be spam, but relevant or not it WILL be deleted. I still forget that rule every now and then, this is the only forum I use that has it.

Oh and yes, of course DDD will be shown at E3, E3 is basically a "who' s got the biggest" contest. (see ? hide the spam behind a more than eight words relevant sentence)

The research center official site linked in that article was updated 05/12/2010 :

Edmonton, AB - Medical Researchers at the University of Alberta reported today evidence that the orphan generic drug Dichloroacetate (DCA) may hold promise as potential therapy for perhaps the deadliest of all human cancers: a form of brain cancer called glioblastoma. The report is published at the journal Science Translational Medicine, a journal of the American Association of the Advancement of Science; it appears today at the journal's web site http://www.sciencemag.org/

You can' t read the article without subscribing to the website though ...
If any of you are interested enough to subscribe and read it I' ll spare you browsing through the site to search the right article, see here :

They said it would take them 10 years if they were to do it with the same graphics as FFXIII. I think the problem is rather that ffVII isn' t a tiny straight line.

Don' t hold your breath, they said it would take them 3 to 5 years.

I suspect that Spanish, Italian or German translations are just as bad. Mostly for time and budget reasons, and also because games are often translated from the English translations rather than from the Japanese games.

KH1 and 2 were both translated and dubbed in French while CoM, 358/2 Days and BBS were just translated and subtitled.
I' ve set the default language of my PSP and my DS to English, but I can' t play KH1 or 2 in English at all.
Europeans are accustomed to silly or poor translations (English translations are often better than the French ones). While Disney characters French names and voices have more resonance with my inner kid some translation choices just seem weird. The worst thing is that I can never know if it differs from the English translation because it' s closer to the Japanese original text (like "Granléon" instead of "Masamune" in Chrono Trigger) or because of a translator whim ("Kupo" was translated into "Coubo" in FF9).

    Some KH examples :
    - "The World That Never Was" was translated into "Illusiopolis".
    - "Nobody" was translated into "Simili" (Latin based word, "simile" is Latin for "copy", "alike" or "metaphor").
    - The "Star Seeker" Keyblade was translated into "Stella" (Latin for "star").
    - The "Oblivion" Keyblade was translated into "Souvenir Perdu" (Lost Memory) while "Castle Oblivion" was translated into "Château Oblivion".
    - The "Way To The Dawn" Keyblade was translated into "Point Du Jour" (which is a convoluted way to say "dawn", no wonder I had so much trouble earning my Castle Oblivion Pin)
