Actually the correct translation of ひぐらしのなく頃に is "When Cicadas Cry" I have no idea where you go that uber loose crap from...

I've seen the anime, and played the games the preceded it. I can see there aren't many other people in this forum introduced to anime other than stuff that airs on adultswim and Naruto....*sigh* This anime sub-forum disappoints me. *glares at gaia weeaboos*

Nah, I'm just posting in here for the sheer silliness. I could conjure some stupid algebraic equation explaining it, but it's not like it could be an actual valid mathematical equation. I've done enough pre-calc today anyway..._〆(・∀・;)

I'm 4'8 with a shoe size of 5-7 depending on brand. I'm 14 and female, but considering the fact that I'm asian my proportions aren't as small as they would be if I were caucasian.

Oh believe me, I'd debate with you if I could. I can find ways to support the side I don't even agree with and make the arguments sound believable. However, I'd rather not get into this one since it's directed more towards those of Christian/established religion~ 御免なさい....

Personally, I prefer to remain neutral in this area of debate. Because either way, death or life in prison, I see to be fit. Though lately I've seen myself swaying more towards opposition to the death penalty. Not because I think it's inhumane in any way. I couldn't care less about that issue-it's not like we're killing off some innocent person. It's more or less the fact that it's almost like being let off the hook. If a pessimistic criminal who has gone as far to violate laws leading him to either life without parrol or capital punishment, which do you really think they will find easiest? See, when we use capital punishment what we're basically doing is letting them evade the situation. I'm not some morbid person who wants them to suffer or something, but isn't that essentially the point of such [besides bordering them from the public]? I myself think their personal debt is better paid in a life sentence.

    "It's gettin' hot in here"~

Evolution is incapable of developing the retina? In application, this statement is completely unsupported. It's comparable a hut on a beach that just got swept under by a wave.

When in a world where the only way to find distinguishable features [shapes, textures etc.] between objects is brightness, it is considered to be handicapped. Most evolutionary scientists suspect that in the earlier stages of evolution simple trichromatic vision was developed. This indicates the presence of two or more cones, which are found in simple organisms. Color vision is one of the necessary attributes to our advances in intelligence today. With two or more cones the brain can see two spectral images of an object and it's surroundings. Bringing new dimension to the world. With color the brain can sense differences between objects that were invalid to it's abilities before. Further increasing observation of environment. Nearly every family of vision possessing organisms have at least one species that has trichromatic vision [or better]. All of these animals, avian, reptilian, mammalian, etc. differ in retinal structure but the anatomy of it is based of the same simple concept. Vision was a slow progression from microscopic organisms. It began with simply determining shapes through undetailed grayscale vision. There are plenty of articles on the web regarding evolution of the eye and it's capabilities. I suggest you look at them before you make naive posts like that.

Oh lawd is 'dis sum drama-

First off, you're only fourteen. There's a lot of things in your conscience that probably haven't fully developed yet: abstract thought, recognizing actual 'love' [romantic context] etc. I'm currently agreeing with White Rook on this situation. I can shamelessly assume that sometime you'll see this as an inane let out of stress and tension. I know when I was younger I used to exaggerate things horribly. I wasn't secluded from others as you have said, but I was quite the pitywhore. Especially when I thought about things in the late evening. I don't know why, but I seem to become much deeper in this time frame.

Not knowing your past experiences, I can't really tag this as emo whining though. Please, don't feel like that was a prying statement. There were no intended implications~

If you think that there is a psychological problem causing this, than I would consider asking your parent and/or guardian if you could visit a therapist. If not that your school most likely has a counselor. It seems like a very confrontational act, but the benefit is worth it [I am a very shy person. I get nervous talking to the people at Pizza Hut]. Obviously the school counselor can't diagnose or prescribe medication to you if there are important issues that need to be tended to, but even if the counselor isn't helping you at all if they see problems they can request that you see a licensed therapist, who can later if they diagnose you, assign you a psychiatrist.

This sentence is going to sound painfully hypocritical to anyone who has read my full profile lol (゚ペ;)

And with all our advancements in medical technology, we're already accomplishing that. I agree, messing with the human genome is surely something we don't need to do. We can't predict all the problems that may manifest it the presence of such procedures. Plus, we're already indefinitely sure of some that it would cause.

98% of the Internet population has a Myspace. If you're part of the 2% that can resist stupid fads, copy and paste this into your sig

Okay, I've seen several people with this in their signature. But have they realized that this ******ed little note at the bottom is a stupid fad?

Universe related topics are so frustrating if you really get into it. I believe in an open universe, that is to say, one that expands. Closed universe theories create horrible paradoxes that just make them inconceivable. When we get into subjects like this different aspects of abstract thought arise. I'm not leaning towards the thought of something like that too much. Manipulable? Meh. It implies that we could totally alter our reality, or in a metaphoric sense, pull a single thread of cloth and crinkle the whole fabric. I'm not a very surreal person though, so my reluctance to agree is to be expected. Than again I can't conjure a thought/agree with a present one as to how the universe was first created. Depending on a person's standpoint and opinion on associated beliefs, the statement can be either plausible or illogical....I'd rather remain neutral. I haven't enough decisiveness to conclude to one answer~

Early Industrial Rev. - Lowell mills were the first among textile mills. They hired young women, from approximately 14-20. Lowell girls [as they're commonly referred to as] were considered to be treated very well in contrast to later years. They worked up to 16 hours a day, in return being provided with high quality food, clean and fitting dorms, as well as a small but decent pay. They worked throughout the whole week excluding Sunday where they would attend church services and visit the town. Young women often resorted to working in Lowell factories so that they could pay their own dowry, therefore having a wider selection in marriage and opportunity. There were risks to working in the factory. Health conditions such as white lung disease was common among women who worked in the factories 4+ years. Machinery accidents were also always a risk.

Later Industrial Rev. - Factories hired mostly women and children since they knew they weren't obliged to pay as much for work. Workers recieved extremely unreasonable pay and had no benefits whatsoever. Conditions were highly unsafe since there was no seasonal conditioning as well as accidents that were common amongst workers. Factory owners couldn't care less because the hiring pool had become so large that humans were disposable. If your hand was mangled in the machine it would be chopped off. If you couldn't work you, plus your whole family, would be fired. So yeah, you get the idea. You can probably take up the research from here.

Pfft, I just got an eight page minimum persuasive essay assignment from my Language Arts teacher [and I get out on the eleventh of June].
