No idea, it does sound fishy but I' m no expert. Surely the tribunal will ask those exact same questions.

    Edit : wait, I didn' t notice there was a page 2 :

    2008
Aug. 8 - City receives first complaint regarding a "large hole" under the driveway at 2006 Canterbury St. The owner told a city investigator he was building a handicap ramp.
    2009
Sept. 30 - City receives complaint that a large hole on the property had been filled with water.
Oct. 7 - Investigator visits 2006 Canterbury and is told by the owner that he is filling a sinkhole and building a retaining wall. Owner receives a warning notice for working without a permit, and a stop work order is posted.
Oct. 12 - City approves a site plan exemption requiring a building permit for the property.
Oct. 23 - After the city finds no building permit has been issued, an investigator visits property, finds no one at home.
Dec. 11 - Follow-up inspection. Owner told he needs to obtain a building permit.
    2010
Jan. 6 - Follow-up inspection. Appears no more work has been done.
March 25 - Follow-up visit. No one at home; investigator leaves card.
March 26 - Phone call to owner. No answer; investigator leaves message.
April 27 - Follow-up visit. No one at home; investigator leaves card.
April 28 - Owner contacts city; inspection scheduled.
May 4 - Inspection finds extensive excavation beneath house.
May 8 - Follow-up inspection. Administrative search warrant issued.
May 13 - Follow-up inspection. Notice of violation posted.

Apparently his excavations had an impact over the city, they were in violation with the law, he was informed of it, and yet he refused to stop digging or to communicate.

Well, clearly the city knew something was going on underground, they wouldn' t have sent the Swat team otherwise. It seems plausible that they sent a team out of genuine concern. I' m not going to pretend I have any idea of the exact procedures they have to follow in such a situation though.

I see how cementing everything without collecting any shred of evidence beforehand could sound fishy, but aren' t they allowed to bypass a few procedures if the situation is judged to be dangerous enough ?

I don' t have a clear picture of the legal kinks and I don' t have testimonies from both sides, so I' m highly reluctant to pick one.

It looks like this story is a tad more complicated, I found this with a quick google search :

^ I agree with multi-player being a good idea, that way you can explain things to her as you go along. Avoid versus modes though (you don' t want her to feel like she doesn' t stand a chance). I' m not sure FF is necessarily a good idea, not everyone digs that kind of story or gameplay. Personally I would take her interests into account : what kind of movies, sports, board games or any other occupation does she like, and why ? The answers would give me a clearer picture of the kind of video games she might like or not.

I never saw anyone bash that detail, actually it' s the other way around (I saw people bashing Raimi' s Parker for not having them), however this trailer shows several things at odds with the comics (not that I mind). Speaking of Spidey' s origins, a few days ago I stumbled upon this, it was a shocker for me (assuming it' s true) : http://www.cracked.com/article_19799_5-creepy-superhero-origin-stories-movies-wisely-left-out.html

See, that' s what I tried to explain to tell you : you don' t have anything to sell. Just because you had an idea doesn' t make it legally yours. To make it legally yours you' d have to copyright it (i.e. pay). Assuming you actually trust your idea enough to throw money at it you still have another problem on your plate : your concept involves ideas that are already copyrighted. You could ask Disney and SE to graciously allow you to commercially exploit their copyrights (I' m sure you can see the odds for that to happen), or try to buy their rights (but I' m pretty sure they picked the priciest kind of copyright, the one that can' t be bought by someone else no matter how rich he is).

Now that you sent them your letter they are free to take as many ideas as they want from it without giving you a single cent nor asking your permission. But as I said before they most probably won' t : they already hired Nomura to write and direct the KH games, and chances are he doesn' t pay any attention to fan-stuff (not enough time, couldn' t care less etc ...). Also, KH is already a partnership, Nomura himself has to submit all his ideas to Disney and hope they' ll green-light them (for instance Disney recently rejected the DDD ending that Nomura initially wrote).

tl,dr : No big-shoe will ever agree with doing a partnership with you unless you' re a big-shoe yourself. If you' re actually serious about working for SE then study to become a professional writer/designer/programmer and try to get hired. Having several hats is a must, ideas alone won' t get you very far (who doesn' t have ideas ?).

Is that the letter you mentioned earlier ? Or is this a new letter ? If it is a new letter then you didn' t understand what I told you before.
Also, did you learn Japanese at all ? Relying solely on google translate is a very bad idea if you intend to be understood (let alone taken seriously).

I already know I' d score as male. I' d be curious to see my lil' sis score though. She definitely views herself as feminine, but by society' s standards she' d score pretty high on the male scale.

You should probably create a thread about it if you care that much about input, I' m sure there are lots of members here who would happily read and/or comment it. I rarely comment other people' s work unless I know them well enough (meaning unless I know how to put it without hurting them) or unless they do it for a living. It if I see your thread around I' ll have a look at it.

So ... wait ... you' re asking if someone could try to sell to SE a concept based on SE copyrights ? Unless you copyrighted the thing you' re trying to sell them they are free to rip it off as much as they wish for free, with or without your consent. Not that I see why they would do any such thing, since they already hired experimented people to write this kind of stuff.

    My dad.

OK, first I should probably warn you : I' m not posting this to cheer you up, because I see no point in treating your symptoms. I' d rather try and destroy the illness. I will get you out of your comfort zone (especially if you' re "spiritual" yourself), but please try and bear with me for a while, I' m trying to get you to see things from a different perspective.

First, your dad is an ass. Not your actual dad, I don' t know him, I' ve never met him, I' m talking about the person you described in your post. You obviously reached the same conclusion, it' s not like I had to read between the lines to get there. What baffles me is that somehow you keep giving him a "get out of jail" free card for all his crap. You feel guilty for not watching your brother for 10 seconds ? Where the hell was he ? What was he doing that was so important that he doesn' t even know how his own daughter is doing at school ? (You' re a girl right ?) I get why a parent could never fail in his child' s eye, but you' re boarding adulthood, correct ? He' s been dictating the rules until now, but that' s over. You' re an adult, a conversation between two adults should be a dialog, not a monologue. You should make him understand that if he keeps belittling you then he is the one shutting the dialog door, not you.

Now that is easier said than done, I get that, and here' s why it gets even trickier : you said he' s someone very spiritual. Maybe you should ask him what "spiritual" even means. That word is such a joke, I looked it up on Wikipedia, out of curiosity :

Spirituality can refer to an ultimate or an alleged immaterial reality an inner path enabling a person to discover the essence of his/her being; or the "deepest values and meanings by which people live." Spiritual practices, including meditation, prayer and contemplation, are intended to develop an individual's inner life; spiritual experience includes that of connectedness with a larger reality, yielding a more comprehensive self; with other individuals or the human community; with nature or the cosmos; or with the divine realm. Spirituality is often experienced as a source of inspiration or orientation in life. It can encompass belief in immaterial realities or experiences of the immanent or transcendent nature of the world.

That sounds awfully like "search for answers that will make you feel good, based on intuition and self-delusion rather than evidence", which of course tends to lead to self-righteousness. He threatened you with hell, you can' t get more self-righteous than that. I know that you want his approbation, I get it, that is a noble goal but only if you reach his approbation on your own terms. There' s no point in gaining his approbation if you have to feel like crap to do so. The person you should try to please and accept first and foremost is yourself. He may never come around to respecting you on your own terms, that is a possibility, but it would be healthier than blind servility nonetheless.

Your post made me think of a few videos I' ve watched recently. Now I don' t know if you are atheist or not, but if you aren' t then you can just replace the word "God" with "Daddy" in the first video, that will turn it into a great daddy issue metaphor. I think both of those videos make some excellent points that relate to your problem, regardless of your beliefs, they worded everything better than I could ever do it myself.

They probably keep it for the TGS. E3 is just a marketing campaign to them, a giant US commercial for games that were released months before in Japan. I mean come on, Theathrythm ? Dream Drop Distance ? Wake up Square, nobody gives a ****, they' re already all over the net ! Funnily enough I noticed that despite this insane troll logic it looks like Type 0 is also a no show.

Well that' s the thing, if the story is old as **** and everyone can see each plot "twist" coming from miles away then the difference between a hit or miss becomes rather flimsy. Visually a lot of things reminded me of Final Fantasy (amongst other things), and the direction was just as unoriginal as the story. I' m usually a sucker for this kind of movie but this one was a miss for me. It wasn' t awful, just ... meh.

The manga that I mentioned earlier, Gunnm, shares a lot of themes with Avatar and recycles just as many clichés, but it also adds SF themes to the mix (which Avatar could have done easily yet didn' t) and sure isn' t narrated in such a hammy fashion.
