Looks like foam swords like they use in Dagorhir. It's camping foam cut up and glued onto PVC (with a wooden dowel rod core for support) in layers (3-4 is usually good). Then you make a pommel by cutting a strip of the same foam and wrapping it around the bottom part of the pipe. Cut a circle out of the foam, stick it on the end, glue it all up and wrap it in black athletic tape. Wrap the handle in a different colour athletic tape, sew up a simple cover for the blade (a big tube sock will work too, but it's not as pretty) and get it on nice and securely. Boom. Safe and durable play sword that can't cause any significant injury. More details here.

Damn, now I kind of want to make a new one even though I don't do Dagorhir anymore. I made two swords but then I sold them to a teacher at my old high school. I still have my spear, but that's a piece of crap and it's falling apart. My shield is still in pretty good shape, though. I wonder if I could sell it on Etsy or something.

You know what blows my mind? At this very moment, we are all on a planet. At this very moment, every single goddamn one of us is hurtling through space at 29.78 kilometers per second on the surface of an actual planet in space.

Hey, I'm not saying anything about her. Ellen Page did a terrific job as Jodie Holmes, she really did, but the movie itself wasn't all that great. I really would have preferred a movie based around any of the premises of each individual chapter. An American soldier teams up with a child soldier in the Middle East to assassinate a bloodthirsty warlord? Awesome war movie. A girl is trying to date her long time mentor but her jealous roommate keeps interfering? Hilarious rom-com. A little girl with supernatural powers is subjected to experiments that are her only constant growing up, and later tries to fit in with teenagers her own age who end up bullying her? Cool psychological slice of life thingy. A girl who is connected to a ghost must figure out the truth behind why a hospital is suddenly being haunted by spirits? Horror movie. All of that combined into some kind of mish mash of things? Beyond: Two Souls.

It's just a bunch of really great ideas for movies squeezed together to make one kind of okay movie.

Also, Quantic Dream should just make a rom-com already.

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. I'm not familiar with the Sphere Grid, but I could see making the Crystarium more like a maze than a perfectly well defined path. Take a wrong turn and you have to spend extra CP getting back to where you made the wrong turn. There could also be huge stat bonuses or powerful abilities at the end of some obvious wrong turns as incentive for the player to take them when they need a lot of one stat in a very short amount of time. You know, like a shortcut to give the player a preview of what's in store later on.

Yes, that's basically what I wanted out of Paradigms. I imagine having a Job System where every Job can use any ability, but due to various stat boosts is most proficient at its core abilities to the point that it's not really worth letting it use outside abilities. There would also be an option to have no job, which would allow equal proficiency with all abilities but also limit the character to its base stats. Gambits would be automatically equipped to each party member based on each member's base-stats and the combination of jobs in the party, but could be customized for various situations. That set of Jobs and Gambits would make up one Paradigm. In battle, Paradigms could be switched on the fly just like in the real FFXIII. Really, everything else would be the same. It's just the Paradigm system that needed an overhaul. The linearity isn't that bad, especially once you get to Gran Pulse.

I always saw Paradigms as Gambits+Jobs+Massive Oversimplification. it would have been great if they had left it as Gambits+Jobs and expanded on the system, but they did the exact opposite.

Gambits in and of themselves are part of what make the game my favorite in the series. Half the fun is spending lots of time before a hard boss working out the perfect set of gambits for your main party. It's basically XIII's Paradigms, but done way better and well before.

That's why there's an option in the settings to increase battle speed. In the Zodiac Job System version, there's also an option to make everything go faster via frameskipping.

Better than any other game in the series. Using stage actors for a lot of the characters was a great decision.

The correct answer is Final Fantasy XII International Zodiac Job System because it's hella expansive and the world feels so alive all the time and BALTHIER.

If not for my grandmother, Dorothea, Elsa would be a total shut-in.

Also, most of Elsa's family thinks that she might have social anxiety.

Oh, and did I mention that Elsa's favorite season is winter?

Oh, and I saw Frozen today and it was great. I usually hate Disney's CGI stuff but Frozen managed to be on the same level as their 2D animated movies. Oh, and Get a Horse was amazing too.
