    The Hobbit

I am not disappoint. Not that I expected to be.
The new cast was flawless, and the movie didn' t feel like butter spread over too much bread. I even look forward to the (probable) future extended cut. The additions taken from Tolkien' s addendum are very welcome, they prevented me to see everything coming from a mile away.

I' ve seen enough hentai back in my days to know where this is going. xD

Should we expect an actual scenario ? Some Evangelion meta shit maybe (one of the characters said something about the end of the world) ? Or just plain mindless action ?

Of course Santa is real. Because bananas.

    Fixed.
Why anyone would feel all better by slapping a god sticker on every question mark he stumbles upon, or see any usefulness in doing this, is beyond me.

It matters because your beliefs inform your actions. The less false beliefs you hold, the more pertinent your choices. And since your choices might impact other people' s lives ...

Rejecting claims that haven' t met their burden of proof is a pragmatic approach, not an assertion of certainty. Not to me anyway.

I know gun control is not an easy problem to solve (black market yaddy yaddy yadda) but why your country wants to cling to its guns so badly is beyond me.

Ditto, I wonder what kind of "meaningful action" Obama had in mind.

Yes, but it mostly comes from stuff Tolkien actually wrote, they don' t make it all up. Going to see it tonight.

If they' re cool I do stick around, I dabbled a little in CGI and animation so I know how much thought goes into it. I was the only one in my class who didn' t just throw scrolling names in my final project.

I loved what they did with the Prisoner of Azkaban credits for instance, there are several jokes going on in the background if you pay attention. The following HP movies were a big letdown in that regard.

After Effects or something similar I suppose. If you don' t want to feel overwhelmed with a professional software (or don' t want to pirate anything, After Effects isn' t exactly cheap) I suggest you read the information of this kinetic typography video, it lists a bunch of free softwares :

Bump ! I haven' t read the books, I just watched the movie. It reminded me of Stephen King' s Running Man and The Long Walk, which were crapping all over real TV before it even existed, mixed with Battle Royal and a Twilight touch. I stumbled upon this today :

    Holy poo

I spoke for a while with someone who believes in that kind of stuff (called it channeling) and more.
Might be fun to do for the lulz, but I probably wouldn' t pay any attention to the results. If my brain can crap super creative dreams from scratch every night I suppose it would be just as easy peasy for it to crap a so-called "past life" under hypnosis.

You have a 68% chance of survival.
You have thought about a zombie apocalypse before. You could survive in most situations.

Of course I could you silly test, I haven' t played all those games for nothing.

The petition has now gathered 24278 signatures, only 722 to go ! That seems like a reasonable number to reach before tomorrow, however several names (including some dude named D.Vador) apparently signed it several times. The suspense is killing me ...

You really should have made paragraphs, it was painful to read.

There seemed to be way too much ingenuous irony in that story for it to be true (which I bet is the reason psychedelic posted it) ... but I googled it just to make sure : http://www.rhrealitycheck.org/article/2012/12/03/pregnant-with-an-iud

Precisely, it' s useless, that' s the joke : the Death Star is a metaphor for the war on terror. It' s a clunky, over-powered, over-priced, so flawed it always backfires on your sorry ass weapon, it destroys whole planets and their resources along with it. Not to mention you can' t destroy so- called "terror", it' s a totalitarian utopia.

I think you' re missing the point, it looks to me like a way to mock the US permanent war economy. The joke is probably lost on many, it may not even be intentional, but either way I think it' s brilliant. :D
