If it is a take it or leave it kind of deal then I believe it' s their choice to make, not mine.

However if there is something they can actually do about it themselves instead of waiting for a miracle to fall from the sky (people who suffer due to family or people for instance) then I' d try to make them see it and lend a hand if I can. A shift in perspective can do wonders for emotional suffering.

On a side note, the final scene of The Mist (the movie, it' s not in the book) is the most sickeningly horrific illustration of this that I' ve ever seen.

Precisely, trying to prove anything based merely on personal experience is an exercise in frustration for both parties. They merely point out that your conclusion is an argument from ignorance (and that is if they assume you' re not lying, which wouldn' t be scientific at all). You on the other hand get the feeling they treat you as a lunatic, even if they try to phrase it as politely as they can.

I can relate because, apart from that weird event I mentioned, I can experience that feeling the internet baptized ASMR. I don' t doubt that I feel it, I can even trigger it myself if I concentrate, however I haven' t jumped to any conclusion as to what it is. Occam' s razor says the explanation is probably medical, but apparently some people see it as proof of soul, God and whatnot.

Assuming that you aren' t lying, which I shouldn' t do but will do anyway for the sake of the argument, how do you know they' re actually ghosts (as in the spirit or whatever of a deceased person) ? How do you know they aren' t mind-reading aliens ? How do you know you' re not just schizophrenic ? Etc, etc ...

I witnessed something pretty weird myself, but since I can' t test any hypothesis I haven' t jumped to any conclusion. I just don' t know what the **** it is I saw.
Well, assuming they weren' t (which again, you shouldn' t), from what I' ve seen their methods and reasoning don' t sound very scientific.
Grave Encounters is a cool movie though. ^^

My sister (she' s a nurse) told me that, unfortunately, it' s not that uncommon for babies to drown in 3 inches swimming pools, even with flotation devices. Do not let a baby bathe without surveillance. Also, my other sister almost drowned in a crowded swimming pool once (one of those swimming pools that artificially create waves), despite her flotation devices and her knowing how to swim.

Maybe they just ignored what the testers had to say (that' s what sent FF XIV to its grave) and/or just didn' t run enough tests.

    One Piece

I just follow the manga. The animated series has a much slower pace, and One Piece isn' t exactly the shortest series ever to begin with. Also, I always favor subs over dubs, even when I don' t speak a word of the language involved.

I' ve watched a large chunk of the animated series though, I noticed its filler episodes aren' t nearly as annoying as those of Bleach or Naruto.

They do. Just, you know, as a concept ... :D

Game development or design are dream crushing too, no one wants to know how his burger was made.
But then every medal has its reverse. What the hell should I do with my life is quite a tricky question ... [/platitudes]

Once again, why ? Do burqas seem ridiculous to you ? If they do then now you know how ridiculous nudity censorship in general is to me.

    No it wouldn' t.

Wait what ? Censoring nudity is just as arbitrary as censoring words. I was born with a body, weren' t you ? Useless Judeo-Christian arbitrary morals aside (or rather the puritan American version of it, it doesn' t bother Europeans nearly as much), what the hell is so fundamentally wrong with seeing a body, especially when you' re a kid with zero sex drive ?

As for censoring Goku but not girly Naruto, well ... one is a boy, the other is a girl. Double standards ftw.

As far as I know we haven' t scientifically evidenced any superpower yet. As for the moral angle :

On a side-note, his assertion that the odds for such an improbable event as his life to occur cannot be the outcome of pure coincidence was fallacious. If you throw a dice six times in a row the odds for you to end up with 125431 are exactly the same as the odds for you to end up with 111111. Asserting that 111111 is an incredible unique snowflake compared to that lowly 125431 only proves the existence of your ego/bias, not that of God.
