I didn' t mean to imply otherwise. The sales numbers of, say, Dirge of Cerberus were nowhere near those numbers.

Well I get that it' s not utterly inconsequential either, but heh, why scrap the outfits they already implemented when they can sell you alternatives looks via DLC ? Actually, now that I think about it, the less you like the originals the better for their wallets ! ^^

As for Noel, maybe they just wanted to make sure everyone would recognize him at a quick glance ? They did end up changing Riku and Sora' s trailer outfits in DDD for fear of confusion with older games. Frankly, if you want to play the realistic card (which I never felt was necessary in FF) I think FF XIII was more puzzling in that regard : what, they' re all hunted fugitives but they won' t bother changing their clothes or growing hairs ? Makes perfect sense.

Well tbh I haven' t even bothered to watch the trailer, but "half baked" (i.e. "quick cash asset reuse") is what they were going for with XIII-2 and LR. In one of the articles libregkd linked SE confirmed that XIII-2 didn' t even sell half as many copies as XIII. God knows how well LR will fare. In case you didn' t notice, they' re short on money these days.

Well frankly I think throwing the other characters out was a wise move. It' s clearly become a solo action game, the old menus and the AI-driven allies were just getting in the way of that. At least now they stopped pretending otherwise and you can finally move Lightning around. If you want to petition them or something then by all means knock yourself out, but honestly I think catering to whatever whim happens to be the most mainstream is precisely the reason I don' t recognize the FF games anymore :

Oh neat, did you hear that ? I can kiss the turn-based FF goodbye ! I already suspected it, but hearing them say it out loud is really depressing. T.T

If you ask me how good the clothes or the characters look has zero impact on how good the game is, but clearly that' s not mainstream thinking, so maybe you have a chance to be heard ...

Yeah, I saw that. Couldn' t tell if trolling or just stupid, as usual with the NRA. The reason I didn' t post it is that I started thinking about a third option :
And this I' m afraid is exactly the reaction they wanted. The NRA isn' t the one who decided to rate it 4+, it was completely out of their hands. It' s blood and murder that are censored in video games, not guns per say. What Bloomberg is asking is playing right into the NRA' s agenda, feeding their diversion on the video game patsy.

Silent Hill has taught me wonderful, psychopathic lessons like using a pillow to get rid of troublesome family members, and how I can't be held accountable if they look like monsters to me. :)

^ This. And it' s not like Japan is the isolated exception that proves the rule, a number of countries play video games as much as Americans do yet they are much less violent. You know what ? Actually there is a difference between Japan and the US when it comes to video games : Japan doesn' t censor sex. I propose you start taxing games that don' t show tits. ^^

I think your politicians would happily ignore this tragedy if it didn' t broke the camel' s back this time, that 's what they usually do.

I think they' re either stupid enough to actually believe video games are the right thing to blame or they' re just trying to divert the attention on something that won' t hurt their wallets or require effort, as opposed to more gun control.

In my country the medias are regularly misplacing all kinds of lunatic assertions on video games (any time you spend playing those damn video games is time you didn' t spend watching their crappy channels), yet no politician here would dare pushing any kind of political agenda on this given how flimsy the scientific evidence is. But then we don' t have mass murders nor school shootings every Tuesday, if at all, and your politicians seem much more prone to make "if you can' t impress them with knowledge dazzle them with bullshit" their motto.

Reminds me of that fake interview that cracked me up a while back :

Hannibal Lecter: And how do we begin to covet, Clarice? Do we seek out things to covet? Make an effort to answer now.
    Clarice Starling: No. We just...
Hannibal Lecter: No. We begin by coveting what we see every day. Don't you feel eyes moving over your body, Clarice? And don't your eyes seek out the things you want?

Once you' ve beaten the game you can replay any level on any difficulty, and as you progress in the story you' re allowed to tweak a few parameters, like your lv.

As for Jafar it is feasible but annoying indeed. Just spam moves that have great speed and reach (don' t ask me which ones, I don' t have the game anymore).

In my experience girls keep complaining when boys don' t share their feelings, but the second they do they' re viewed as sissies. Better be laconic about it and keep' em on their toes to know a bit more, revealing all there is to see behind the curtains just shatters their illusions.
I' ll PM you a vid (I' d rather not post it here, too much sex talk).

I read an article about that years ago, where scientists tried to think of weird alternatives. For instance most (all ?) of Earth life-forms are carbon based, so they tried to imagine ammoniac or silicon based life-forms. They also explained how the planet gravity would affect legs proportions. Also, just like on Earth, they wouldn' t necessarily be impressively smart : evolution is all about survival, intelligence is merely one of the numerous possible means to that end and it' s not necessarily the most efficient (viruses are above us in the food chain).

Not sure what you meant by similar, but the odds for them to be extremely similar to us are abysmally low.
