You do know most of this stuff is entirely made up, right ? They get his name on their cover, he gets his latest publicity stunt, it' s a win-win scenario. As real as real tv.

From what little I' ve seen of him I don' t like the guy. I saw him once on French TV, back when he was making a name for himself. I can' t find that interview on you-tube, but clearly he already thought he was the second coming of Christ (this thread tittle is oh so appropriate).
Reporter : "What do you want to do when you' re a grown up ?"
Bieber : "What do you mean ? I' ll be a star, I already am !"
Usher, iwhispering : "You ... you can' t say that."
    Biieber : "Huh ?"

Poor Usher (oh so appropriate name) had to interrupt him every two sentences. The kid was obviously in it for the fame, music was just a means to that end and he didn' t even know enough to hide it. Had he been told eating poop was the way to go he would have.

So okay, he was just a kid. He probably had adults spoon feeding him grandeur delusions all day long, just to squeeze all the money they could out of the situation as long as it lasted. But then I recently stumbled upon this, apparently in all these years he hasn' t learned his lesson one bit :

    Fears

You' re programmed to. It' s like a reflex, a survival mechanism hard coded into your brain. Try to stand up on a matress and let yourself fall flat on a it, you' ll notice you have to make a conscious effort to not bring your arms in front of you to protect your head. Same goes when you bring something veeeery close to your eye, you instinctively close it.

In that case you' re talking about a ride, it doesn' t take being an old wise man to instinctively know that speed and height equal danger. As for the fear of the unknown it' s pretty common : if it' s unknown then you' re not sure it' s safe.

Chances are they were, but curiously your actual safety is much higher on their priority list than your feelings. If they were to let you ignore the security rules and you ended up being injured or worse they' d be held accountable.

I wasn' t trying to push a legal definition on you, that' d be meaningless indeed. I know your country has vastly different opinions on sex. and though society doesn' t dictate our opinions it certainly shapes our expectations.

Well, I' m not sure we share the same definition of love. To me love is a dance, the same kind of dance you' d have with a friend, being in love just means you could see yourself build a life with that person (and sexual attraction certainly helps that).

If you were expecting anything more, sort of a prince charming Loveatfirst Sight Disney effect, so to speak, then I' m affraid in my experience it was all a metaphor. Neither the prince charming nor the LSD ever come, and the people who think they' ve found them are bound to feel let down sooner or later.

Maybe I should have picked that quote : “We waste time looking for the perfect lover, instead of creating the perfect love.” ― Tom Robbins

I hope I was clearer this time, wish you luck and courage.

Maybe they did explore the underground area, stumbled upon Emerald Weapon (see the picture, it' s not very obvious but it' s there), or Gaia, or both, and decided they' d better not mess with the place.

Maybe the Lifestream is too unstable and/or too diluted to exploit. Banora is on the same island as Mideel. In FF7 it is common knowledge that this town is close to the Lifestream, yet there' s no reactor there either. Shinra might prefer places where the mako is stagnant enough to condensate, or maybe the place was just too impractical compared to other places (less cost efficient to build there, frequent natural disasters or something).

I thought it was one of the funniest episodes. It' s not like it was gratuitous, the first person view was a way to poke fun real tv in general and those Ghost Hunters shows in particular. It also allows a few direction choices that wouldn' t feel natural otherwise.

A lot of people involved in making Supernatural worked on the X-Files before. Like many weird/funny Supernatural episodes, Ghost Chasers was a variation of a concept already visited in the X-Files.

Grave Encounters would be a better match.

I cannot help but wonder if you' re religious, I' m getting a "we are more than mere animals", "sex is bad, it' s only purpose is procreation" vibe from your posts. Or maybe there' s a cultural/psychological difference involved here, idk.

The thing is, our desire for love and friendship is every bit as base, instinctive and animal as sex. We' re social animals. Empathy, desire for love and friendship, sexual drives, all 'tools' that helped our species to survive and thrive. Did you know that a newborn baby, if fed but never touched, has a high chance to let himself die ? http://www.scientificamerican.com/article.cfm?id=infant-touch
Even when you think you' re prioritizing your partner' s happiness over yours ironically you' re still pursuing self satisfaction, it' s the universal drive force. The only difference between being in love and making love is that making love makes it plainly obvious.

“Anyone who is in love is making love the whole time, even when they're not. When two bodies meet, it is just the cup overflowing. They can stay together for hours, even days. They begin the dance one day and finish it the next, or--such is the pleasure they experience--they may never finish it. No eleven minutes for them.” ― Paulo Coelho, Eleven Minutes

Found that quote here, there' s a lot of great ones : http://www.goodreads.com/quotes/tag/sex

As long as one partner wants to do it, you betcha, it' s damn important. People are looking for compatibile partners, sexual compatibility is a part of that. I don' t know how things are in your country, but in mine sex is defined by law as one of the agreements of a marriage contract : http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/wor...ered-to-pay-wife-damages-for-lack-of-sex.html

Not sure what you meant by sex being honest, but I get the feeling I already addressed that with my 'no such thing as selflessness' comment.

I think the word you' re looking for is algorithm.
I assume "nearest" would translate as a substraction of x y and z coordinates, that of the character minus that of an enemy. Rince and repeat for each enemy , then do a test to compare all the results and determine which enemy is the closest (pick whichever abs(x-xn)+abs(y-yn)+abs(z-zn) turns out to be the lowest).

Well, that formula isn' t exactly the right one, but I' m lazy. I probably bored everyone to death anyway, hopefully you got the idea.

Gambits have a one big advantage compared to manual imputs.

Let' s say for instance that you chose to launch a healing spell, but that unfortunately your target died before the action gauge got full. Well sucks to be you, you can' t cancel any action manually. If on the other hand you had assigned healing and resurection to gambits while prioritizing resurection, the healing spell would have been cancelled as soon as your character died and life or phoenix down would begin loading instead.

Against the toughest bosses that nuance can save the day.

Once you know exactly what to do it' s rather fast to get a gold chocobo, though I' ve never had the patience to spam KOTR in any fight. I did however have the patience to get Cloud' s strength up to 255 and give him (counter + double cut)x4 and (counter + slash all)x4, all at master level. Very anti-climatic, but damn funny, I dropped the controller and just watched him single-handedly kill emerald in less than 2 minutes.

It doesn' t bother me either, I' m just pointing out that if we are to believe porn it' s ok for a heterosexual to be turned on by lesbians but not by male homosexual displays. It' s not just porn mind you, what I hear my male friends say left and right tends to mirror that.

Now whether it actually matches most hetero males feelings, is just a pretence imposed by social pressure or is a real feeling imposed by social pressure, that is the question, but I don' t have the answer.

Yeah, they keep adding rooms and floors to a house whose moldy basement is menacing to crumble, instead of blowing the whole thing out and getting a fresh start. We have a word for that in French : "usine a gaz" (top-heavy, unwieldy, slow and impractical: "a Heath Robinson device"/"a kludge").

I use Windows too. Some of the programs I use don' t exist on Linux, and I hate the single mouse button Mac interface.

^ I don' t think people aren' t aware that women can be gay too, it' s just that ... male couples are clearly perceived as more ... disgusting ?

Just take a quick peek at a hetero porn site : you' ll see plenty of lesbians, but you' d better not throw a male couple in there. Lesbians turn hetero males on, but male couple turns them off. If you ask me that' s because while they have no problem watching women engage in activities that they judge to be degrading, watching males do the same things wouldn' t match the role they perceive to be that of their gender in that kind of game. See, males are supposed to be the abusers.

As for those that are very vocal about their disgust, I' m inclined to suspect they' re hiding something :

As for women, I have no clue whether one gay configuration disgust them more than the other or not, but overall they seem less prone than men to dictate everyone else what they can or cannot do with their private lives.

That link does a good job at explaining why the US are seen as a sue-happy nation in general. However I' m having a hard time finding frivolous lawsuits statistics about my own country to compare. That' s probably because, to my knowledge, we don' t even have a word for them. Fork, if you' re reading this ...

Nope, it only applies to Windows. Well, some versions of Linux or Mac might be a little retro-compatibile (I' m not sure), but if they are it' s certainly not to the same ridiculous extent as Windows. They' re both notoriously much more stable than Windows, especially Linux. The only reason Windows remains the most used is the monopoly situation Microsoft had at some point (and arguably still enjoys to this day in many regards).

MS DOS is Windows' furthest ancestor, "Windows 1981" if you will. Every new iteration of Windows tries to be retro-compatible with every older Windows or MS DOS iteration, meaning they try to make it so that it can run, say, an old 1982 MS DOS or Win 95 program. It' s annoying for two reasons :

    - It forces them to respect outdated conventions that modern programmers/users would gladly do without.

    - If they fail to notice that what they' ve made isn' t 100% retro-compatible some situations would lead to abherant behavior or fatal errors (what we said would happen if they were to let you use any character to name a file illustrates this well).

It would look for a directory named 1800's containing a file named Old English.
You can thank Windows' retro-compatibility (which goes all the way down to MS DOS prehistory) for that minor annoyance (and for a shitload of stability issues).
