I' ve watched the first and second seasons and loved them, especially the first. But that was when I still had a PC, I won' t be able to watch the third season for a good while so ... I gotta ask, what' s it about this time ? What' s the new setting/mood ?

I have a component/composite cable for PSP but ... I' ve never used it. What' s the catch ? The PSP doesn' t mind displaying its menus or UMD movies through an RGB scart, but if you try launching a game it warns you it can only display them through the component cable (but my HDTV only has an HDMI plug so I' m screwed).

Can' t say I' m surprised. I watched someone playing the demo, he spent most of it hanging the controler in the air to demonstrate that, most of the time, the game doesn' t even care and moves on anyway. Success and failure (if you can still call it failure) land you at the exact same place.

I liked Heavy Rain for the experiment that it was but to me it was just that, an experiment, a "once is enough" kind of game. It would have been awesome to focus on the best aspects of Heavy Rain and inplement them in an actual game, but David Cage chose the polar opposite road, focusing instead on its worst aspect (cheating the player into thinking what he does matters) and moving further away from what fundamentally makes a game a game.

I' ll "play" B2S on youtube.

Lol, to be fair I used it as a side-note illustration, you don' t have to actually watch it (nor the actual movie) to understand what I said.

I personally define morality as a social concept born from biological imperatives. We' d have to agree on a common standard to define good and evil, which is usually easier said than done, but whatever. What bugs me with the claim at hand is that it assumes there is such a thing as choice, but I don' t know that.

I was fascinated by The Matrix depiction of an entirely deterministic existence. When Neo becomes able to grasp enough causal links to extrapolate the future to some degree, though not enough to shatter his illusion of choice, it leads to a couple of interesting dialogues :

Examining as many causal agents as we can to extrapolate the future to some degree is what we do in, say, meteorology. For a good while our scientific discoveries made it look like our whole universe was indeed a slave to causality, though not conclusively, but apparently when it comes to quantum physics all bets are off so ... lol, who the hell knows ?

If there is such a thing as free will then we can stir our morality to some degree, though we' re fairly rigged one way or the other from starters. If on the other hand there is no such thing as choice then I guess destiny is unavoidable and we are indeed born good or evil, so to speak.

Its sound chip sucked ass compared to the Snes, that' s quite undeniable, but as for any kind of instrument it' s not really the size that matters, it' s what you make of it. Some Genesis musics are forever burned into my mind, especially that game :

Pump up the jam, pump it up !

Hell, I remember telling a friend I had a NES game whose intro music wasn' t too shabby compared to 16 bits games. He laughed at me at first, but agreed after hearing it :

Oh wait, that single screen was the first stage ? Oh I get it now, I definitely remember my neighbours made us play this and laughed at our cluelessness for a while. They spat it out eventually, dunno how long it took them to figure it out. ^^

Well in this case it' s the dev' s fault for not telling you what to do, it has nothing to do with the dexterity they expect you to have. Trust me, I' ve had my fair share of this kind of frustration since I barely spoke English back then. In some cases, even if I could get my dad to translate, it still didn' t make any sense (I' m looking at you Castelvania 2).

Basically what they did with Ecco' s first stage was the same approach as Megaman X or Super Metroid, they were trying to teach you a new move by throwing you in a pit you can' t escape otherwise and giving you visual clues about what you should do. In other words they were trying to get "show, don' t tell" right. Problem is their visual clues were either too subtle or non-existant. Simply showing you there' s water beyond the pool would have made it clear you' re supposed to escape.

By the way, have you ever watched tool assisted speedruns ? In theory Ecco the Dolphin can be beaten under 25 minutes. In theory.

Wait what ? That' d be you hyperboling out of anger, right ?

Personally whenever I spot a biker I stick to the right side of the lane and expect them to drive by me anytime without any warning, which they inevitably do. Never had a problem with them that way.

In this case it' s hard for me to tell whose fault it was, not having witnessed the scene for myself, but frankly I couldn' t care less : what the bikers did after that is ****ing inexcusable either way.

I played it briefly, two of my friends owned it. I don' t remember which stages I played or whether I beat them or not, but although it didn' t strike me as an easy game it didn' t strike me as an über difficult game either. I' m fairly certain both my friends reached at least the second stage. But then masochistic video games were run of the mill back then, we were used to it. XD

When I heard Ecco was legendary for its difficulty I assumed it had an exponential difficulty curve, much like Rayman or Castelvania.

I did however own a game that was literally impossible to beat : Rygar on the NES, the PAL version. They thought it was too easy so they cut the health bar by half, forgetting that the last boss cannot be hurt unless your health bar is more than half depleted. I read that fact in an article, years after both me and my dad gave up trying to beat it, unfortunately.

At the moment the hardest games I remember ever playing, short of being plain broken, are Wonderboy (Master System) and Addams Family Pugsley' s scavenger hunt (Snes).

More like Narnia, Mickey looks like Reepicheep.
Which makes me realize, could they do a Narnia world in KH3 ? The Narnian movies were produced by Disney so I assume it might be possible. And since Nomura said KH3 will swap its design style to fit each world ...

Basically right now they' re not the only ones punished for their stupidity, everyone is. Someone has to actually pay their insane bills right away, but since money doesn' t grow on trees hospitals suck it up and raise their prices for everyone else. With Obamacare those morrons would be the only ones being "punished" for their stupidity, seems a hell of a lot better to me than allowing hospitals to just kick them out.

You could just ask and not be a dick about it, those aren' t mutually exclusive. You said it yourself, he' s a tiny resailer who gets to know his clients, he' s emphasizing service to stand in the crowd, you might as well enjoy that perk fully.
Just ask him what happens in that case, he might be able to get a refund from his supplier. Worst case scenario there' s nothing he can do about it and none of you will have lost anything.

I have qualms with teacher X and Y rather than with the system at large. I' m sure it' s perfectible but in the end, whatever system you dish out, the teachers can either make it fly or make it sink, it' s really up to them.

That being said, I remember reading something JK Rowling allegedly answered to a question from one of her readers : why would Dumbledore allow such a ******bag as Snape to teach at Hogwarts ? Her answer was that he knows having to deal with a horrible teacher is a lesson in and of itself.

I' m rather curious as to how well the Montessori education is doing. Looks cool on paper, but even if it is indeed better than school as I know it we' d have to implement it progressively. Trouble is reforming education in any shape or form is almost Mission : Impossible in my country, for various reasons I' m not gonna list here.

It' s ... complicated. I' m not financially stable right now and have never been in a long lasting relationship. Too much of a lone wolf. My sister had a kid two years ago, my whole familly noticed how happy I am when I' m with him. It is indeed a 24/7 thing though, and I don' t think I could pull that off. I can totally understand the blood link thing, he' s "just" my nephew but one look at him and I knew, if I had to give my life to save his I' d do it no questions asked.

In short my emotions say yes, reason says no. My aunt pointed out to me that fleeing responsibilities because of my lack of stability might be backwards thinking, maybe having responsibilities is the one thing that would stabilise me. Ha, maybe she' s got a point. Who knows where life will take me, for now I' m happy just being the cool weird uncle.

I' m not sure what you mean by that. In terms of ressources no, I don' t imagine anyone would expect them to have that much money to work with. In terms of polish however it' s not that farfetched a goal. Take South Park for instance (yes, it' s CG, the earliest seasons were done with Maya), its design and animation style were purposefully minimalist in order to deal with deadlines more easily, and thanks to that they were able to attain the same level of polish as Pixar.

RWBY obviously took the same kind of approach in its design (almost no textures, just cell shaded uniform colors, cartoonish backgrounds), but its animation aimed much higher than that and it shows : some shots here and there could clearly be improved, you can tell they could have fixed them given a few more time. Not that the average viewer cares about any of that, it' s nothing major, I' m just nitpicking cause I' ve dabled in CG.

I didn' t know RWBY came from the guy who made Dead Fantasy, which was clearly made by someone who mainly cared about animating stuff, not design or story. Incidentally I was the same, I thought modeling, texturing and writing was rather boring but animating stuff and watch it come alive was fascinating to me.

I learned playing music because my parents subscribed me to have lessons, simple as that. I was very young, it was the same year I learned how to read at school. Most of the solfege explanations went way over my head at that age (it' s basically math) and I chose to play trombone but my arm was too short, I couldn' t play all the notes. XD

I continued for, idk, six or seven years. I don' t play any instrument anymore, I forgot most of what I learned, but I love to sing and whistle. I suppose it secretes endorphins or something, I get pleasure from it. Even when I can' t sing along, say because I' m in the bus, I tap along with my feet and fingers. I can' t just be a passive listener.
