Open the ROM, click file>export backup memory. It should ask you to name your save and where to save it. Depending on what version you're using...

That's because DESMUME saves are different than NO$GBA saves, you have to convert the save with this website:http://www.shunyweb.info/convert.php...

It could be an issue with DESMUME itself, have you tried NO$GBA?

About DESMUME: Most games tend to be like that during cutscences unless you have a really high performance PC. Is the game okay outside of cutscenes?
