That is the case with her, she was torn up by the lie of "enjoyin" killing her family that she believed it. If she really was the soilder of joy then laughter wouldn't have been the choice of her emtion into battle.
But you also have to take in the fact of the situation of which they aquired their title. When L.O got her name she wasn't in joy. She was scared alone and most of all terrified of becoming the monster that was caused out of her own personal sadistac torrment. I do my best to impress.

It would either be her son Ocelot or the clone of her greatest pupil. The fact that the other characters of the B&B unit only carry one aspect of the a previous villain. Doesn't make it that the verbs in their name have any reflection on a previous title such as, Joy, Fear, Pain, Sorrow, Fury, and the End. The whole idea of an emotion as a title for a soilder is reflected on how that person enters a battle and survivies. The thoughts of people who deny what they want to be and think in the world.

Laughing really isn't an emtion for joy. Laughter can be triggered by many things.
