You know, when they say Tron wasn' t selling toys, I' m not sure they meant Tron toys, nor toys per say really.

I say this because of what happened to Fringe : it wasn' t drawing enough anouncers to their liking, but since it was a big critical success with a cult following they moved it to a lousy time slot instead of just canning it. Of course that time slot drew even less anouncers. The only reason the show got a final half season is that the fans pleaded for it big time and that there was some sort of financial interest for the network in letting it reach its hundredth episode.

Same goes for the bronies I suppose, it' s ****ing everywhere on the internet, you' d have to be blind not to notice.

I guess that' s the downside of series competition for you. Sure, they make more and more good series, but their actual goal is to draw anouncers, not viewers. Problem is anouncers don' t care about story or quality, unless you manage to reach the top and stay there they just move to the newest shiny thing.

Pretty sure they' re trolling us on that one lol, remember the pink theme ? Well anyway, the premium pink is a marvel of sobriety compared to the pink I' m talking about. I sincerely doubt even the most hardcore Barbie fans wouldn' t find it ugly as ****.

It was okay I guess, but nothing to write home about.

I thought the combat was better than in XIII and XIII-2 since there was no untweakable gambit to work with this time around, but I' m still not sold on it. It' s stuck between classic turn-based and Tales Of / Star Ocean style real time, but each of those halves shoot in the other' s foot, it' s not as fun as if it was 100% one of those halves.

Story is a mess, reminds me of Chrono Cross in a lot of ways (I mean hello, the ending), but whatever.

The time thingy wasn' t as annoying as I thought it would be, but it still seems beyond stupid to put time constraints in a RPG. It just gets in the way of whimsical exploration.

As for the artistic side of the game, well, the XIII-verse never enthralled me and this one was the ugliest (and tiniest) by far. It' s a patchwork of mismatched things. Seriously, half of the garbs are the epitome of fashion faux-pas. And those fluorescent pink weapons, oh gawd that pink ! What the hell were they smoking ?!

Obviously, yet that doesn' t seem to stop them (granted they avoid being as crystal clear as I was in their ads). The republican marketing strategies often baffle me on too many levels for me to count.

Because of the cojones thing ? Heh, reality' s not that far off. A few months ago I saw a campaign ad with a republican playing alpha male in a cowboy suit. There was a visibly horny latino girl all over him, she literally said "las tiene muy grande" at some point. I' ll post it if I manage to retrieve it. And you' re welcome. ^^

Can' t we just look at satellites pictures or something ? I guess we' re not that advanced yet.

The approach is a little hammy if you ask me, I would go for something more subtle. If I had to make it fly anyway I' d rewrite the lines and go over the top with it. Or at least improve the delivery, that girl sounds like she just took a sleep pill. You know, something more like :

Your typical bully voice : "Bwah ! Time's up sissy boy ! America wants a REAL man now ! Vote for the man a gun, the man with no plan but his BIG COJONES !!!"
Female lusting voice : "Les tiene muy grande ..."
Bully : "Wh... get back in the kitchen, this is grown up time."

Editing' s good though. Why the wolf btw ? It reminds me of Wolf-PAC.

So apparently the bill mentioned in the OP passed but ... turns out it' s a smoke screen.

Same scenario as for the latest gun control bill, the initial bill was voted down so they wrote a new draft. Problem is it' s been stripped down so much it' s essentially useless now, a mere pretence of doing something.

I found blogs describing free flowing as a meditation thingy, done laying in/on clothes you don' t mind staining with blood (technically women are always free flowing, this just puts the arbsorber elsewhere).

    And then I found this : http://theothermccain.com/2014/02/01/is-freebleeding-a-hoax/

I think I' ll stop digging right here and dismiss it as a hoax.

I assume the reason there' s no action in that X-Men trailer is that the CGI wasn' t ready yet. That cut at 01:25 is so terrible I thought it was fan made at first, not to mention they didn' t even bother making their own score. I like the fact that it' s story-oriented, but it' s glaringly half assed.

From the top of my head I' ll mention Prometheus. The trailer was much better than the movie itself. The story, the shots and the soundtrack all build up together, until it all gets disturbingly stroboscopic. The very definition of a well cut trailer.

Good movies have been around for as long as I can remember. As for TV shows I definitely noticed a before and an after the nineties. Some smart, unconventional shows popped up on our screens (X-Files and Buffy, to name a few) and all of a sudden american TV shows were everywhere. The craze hasn' t slowed down at all, it' s quite the opposite, my grandma keeps complaining about it. XD

I don' t think TV shows suddenly became better qualitatively per say, we just suddenly got more of them to pick from. A bunch of new technologies made them easier to make and a generation of trope-smart writers made them more surprising.

It' s like Final Fantasy, the games are mostly related through gimmicks. You can pick any game in the series without feeling lost. What made the second and third shine is that you could swap at will between three characters, and give orders to the other two shall the need arise. Or you could play with two friends as a team. They' re ugly compared to LoM though. Graphic-wise and gameplay-wise the closest to LoM would be the GBA remake (Sword Of Mana).

It is. It's the fourth released in the series, although it wasn' t given any number (Seiken Densetsu 4 is actually the fifth entry).

The first Seiken Densetsu was released on the GB, it' s called Mystic Quest in Europe and Final Fantasy Adventure in the US. It also got a GBA remake called Sword of Mana.

The apex of the series was Seiken Densetsu 2 and 3 if you ask me. The second was released on the Snes, its western tittle is Secret of Mana. The third never left Japan be there are fan translations avalaible for Snes emulators.
