Inafune has lied about the originality of the games Comcept is aiming to create for as a company. I bring his genuiness into question because of that, he's not following what he said in the past and making excuses for it now, saying it's similar because it's 'his spirit' isn't informative nor an answer to the actual similarities. Not to mention I doubt most PR that isn't strict information on said product, because it's their job to sell it to you, and reviewers/previewers to inform us whether they're calling bs on. It's his business after all, if it'll mean more money he'll try to pitch it well. And an article on how controversial this may or may not be here.
Scepticism over a guy whose made good and bad games in equal measure, and a crowdfunding service that has had more problems in all its services, not just games, than regular company backed development. It's scepticism with a track record to warrant it. Inafune is not going to openly admit to it being connected with Megaman in any true capacity since Capcom's lawyers will start discussing copyright. And whether he admits it or not, a side scrolling shooting game where the lead blue human robot player character hunts down other human robot boss characters, whilst fighting lesser robot enemies, with the ability to use special abilities by 'transforming into/copying' them, is a Megaman side scrolling game. I'm not claiming there isn't a demand for a Megaman game where Inafune is at the helm of it all, clearly there is with the amount of backers putting money into it, but I'm disputing his claim of originality, that this is somehow not a continuation of his Megaman games in a new coat of pain, is a load of bs. I also believe libre's reasoning behind why he's using Kickstarter, it makes more sense when Japan is shifting more into mobile gaming, whilst I think he knows that appealing to Megaman fans will mean more funding than if he tried appealing else where, with less hassle and negotiations. I am indeed sceptical for scepticisms sake on how much the fans will influence the game apart from the funding tiers of designing an enemy and so on, and even then the development and final product will be decided by Inafune's team.
