Never heard of the Freedom Church in particular, but that kind of cult unfortunately isn' t anything special. I' ve never met anyone who got hooked myself, but I' ve read testimonies and descriptions of a few mind control basics. Every country draws a different line between cults and religions. In France I think it has something to do with the amount of money that is expected from its followers. It tried real hard to get around it, but the church of Scientology is still classified as a cult here. For a broader definition I' d say a religion is a cult whose creator is long dead.

My parents sent me to catechism when I was around ten, but although I was old enough to find it fishy from starters I wasn' t old enough to really think about it critically just yet. Bring me in a mass and I might react to this day to its various Pavlovian triggers. Many Christians are enrolled when they' re much younger than that, if that doesn' t qualify as mass brainwashing I don' t know what does. If one of their beliefs was clearly harmful I' d have no problem ripping it a new hole (though I wouldn' t necessarily go full frontal about it, that usually fails). And if I had to kidnap you for a short while to even get a chance to make my case, if I care about you, so be it.

You probably did, he gave you two possibilities. The first is to compute a result (algorithm), the second is to look it up (in a pre-written list). Could be either, we have no way to tell.

Stats level up typically use algorithms (it' s doubtful that their algorithm would require more space and/or significantly more computation than a list) and "recipes" typically use lists because it' d be hard to think of a simple equation that would give coherent results (ex: Vagrant Story forges, and I assume BBS' command mix and DQ' s alchemy are list-based too). It' s a case by case scenario. If the machine you use has through the roof specs compared to what you' re trying to do you can just be lazy and pick whatever' s convenient to you, not caring how much space or computation it will require in the slightest.

That happened at every store I' ve worked at. That and more. Didn' t notice there was an age to be an *******. Meh, joke' s on them, all the prices are calculated keeping that in mind. As my father often says the only thing that' s free in this life is kicks in the butt.

I have a rhythmic movement disorder (the body rolling one), and I was a sleepwalker when I was a kid. Apparently the latter makes the former likelier. Sleepwalking might be genetic, and the causes of rhythmic movement disorder are a complete mystery.

I only hurt myself once because of it. I rolled under the bed side bar, my pajama got stuck on a nail and I hanged there for a while, then fell and banged my head on the floor. At least that' s what I' m told, it didn' t wake me up and I had no pain in the morning. I did glare at my shredded pajama in utter confusion for a good while though. I don' t think it could happen to me again, the symptoms are fading with the years.

On second thought, there is one thing I' d keep in mind. One of my friends got a kid shortly after my sister got hers. He' s an ex-con, he lost his parents around the time he was ten, got raised harshly after that, dropped out of his school, barely knows how to read or write and is indebted for years and years to come. Needless to say, self esteem isn' t his forte. We were having a discussion about what he wanted to give as a legacy to his kid a while back, and at some point he said "well it' s not like I can help him with the school stuff or make him smart". I told him it was actually pretty easy, you just have to keep them curious and the rest will follow. Shake their routine, introduce new stuff, soon they won' t need you to seek it on their own. Well, actually they instinctively do seek it on their own, but it' s something society at large quickly tends to repress (even school itself in some ways, ironically).

    Yeah, the smartphone version.

They' ll also form eight players teams to try and beat Leviathan in FF XIV, like they did at E3.
Those who manage to beat it will get this shirt :

They are the same each time you play through, but not the same at each level up.
They don' t gain the same amount of HP regardless of what level they' re at :

Sometimes he gains 8 hp, sometimes he gains 9 hp, it' s not a fixed value.

An algorithm is a synonym for recipe. Machines don' t think, machines don' t talk, they merely do what you asked them to do and the only language they "understand" is math. For instance when I said "maxhp = basehp + lv*5", well, that ' d be logic talk for "the character gains 5 hp at every level up", which would then be translated into pure math language (if we had to type everything in pure math we wouldn' t see the end of it, we' ve build translators for that).

I assume that' s be akin to character classes. You have your warrior-type growth algorithm, your wizard-type growth algorithm etc ...
Ganz and Volk just happen to have been thrown in the same growth category.

Without access to the actual algorithm I' d just be taking shots in the dark. Judging from the characters max hp charts it' s not something as simple as maxhp = basehp + lv*5, since even putting lv 41 aside they don' t gain the same amount of HP every time. Might be an oversight that luckily doesn' t crash the program, might be completely intentional (as a means to avoid another bug to happen elsewhere, for instance).

I' m not that savvy either, but it might be a tad more difficult than that. From what I' m told the data on a PS disk isn' t the original code per se. I' m not sure to which extent those differ, but it' s apparently big enough that retrieving the source code from the disc data alone qualifies as retro-engineering :
    http://www.1up.com/features/the-problem-with-preservation

That' s why I was wondering if SE still had all the source data from all the KH games neatly stored and commented in their archives, or if they had to retro-engineer some stuff to make 1.5 and 2.5. Apparently I wasn' t the only one :

Would you like me to do it now ? Or would you like a few moments to compose an epitaph ?

Sorry, couldn' t help it. xD

Okay, Sirius time now. I don' t think there' ll be a me to miss anything. If I was to make a hole in someone' s brain or make him drink alcohol his personality would be affected. So what would happen if his brain outright died, gee I wonder. I' ve been knocked out before, and those few instants spent being a "soul" haven' t exactly left me with sparkling memories. Nor did my pre-birth existence. I wouldn' t claim any certainty on the matter, but the odds don' t look that good to me. Not that it' s that saddening a thought to me, the prospect of immortality frightens me more (though I sure wouldn' t mind us having a longer life expectancy).

At the end of the day I' m like Misty and try to be pragmatic about it. I can' t help the occasional speculations, but they don' t keep me up at night. I' m an epicurian, I' ll take whatever I can get. Not necessarily in a selfish kind of way. What would I miss the most right now ? Money enough to sustain myself, friends and family aside, probably the internet.

I' m pretty sure KH2 will be faster on my end. My version is in 50Hz, that one will be in 60Hz.
I gotta admit the thunder dodge quest in FFX was a bit more challenging in 60 Hz.

That' s a false dichotomy though. A more fitting question would be are you against it or not.
In a courtroom the judge won' t ask if your verdict is guilty or innocent, he' ll ask if it is guilty or not guilty. Big difference. If your answer is "I don' t know" or "I don' t care" I think the judge will take that as a "not guilty".
