"Well they are all safe job wise. I will personally see to that. Now we are all equal however as survival is now on the agenda." Clarisse took a large armful of wood back. "They will be more help if they are strong and rested." she walked over to Matt. "How is the meat doing?"
Somehow that made it worse. Her mother had wanted her but couldn't get her back. "What...what happened to them?"
"Pushy parents eh? I guess I never believed I had parents. I was told that they were dead. I was never hugged by my family." Maiko sat staring at the wall and tears began rolling down her cheeks.
"At least you were the golden child and not the trash to be thrown away. I would have given the world to have parents who wanted me."
"It's hard for me to imagine our parents as anything but evil. I mean, they abandoned me with strangers and never even checked up on me. They never really wanted me as they had their son and heir."
"Confused, unloved and unwanted mainly. I don't really know what to think. I just wish I didn't exist."
"I feel like my life was stolen from me. Does that make sense. Imagine that one day you learned that everything you thought you knew about yourself was a lie. It's scary."

"I am? I have no idea how old I am as I don't know my real birthday. Another mystery in my rubbish life. My birthday was the day they got me, the day I was abandoned."

"You really hate him, don't you? I guess he is a lot like you in many ways so like tends to hate like. Just give him another chance, ok."
"Call me Clarisse please." She walked off to get wood, smiling to herself. Matt was exhausted and needed to rest and she was the one to get him to rest.
"I think you know me a lot better than you are letting on. I can only say that I will keep every promise I have made and more. I will protect you first."
"And everyone else is a model of bravery and honesty? He did try to attack first."
"Well I hate to break this to you but situations have changed and I do work for the same company, even if I am the Managing Director. Now rest and let me work. I hate burnt meat by the way."
"What am I going to do about Takahiro? I guess he was happy to betray me after all."
"I guess you need a family now and I guess I fit that description. I need to know everything though. No lies any more."
