"I'm just ashamed of being weak. I have always been expected to cope and I always have. I need to be strong now for everyone."
"As well as being my strength and my inspiration." Gharanth smiled at her and tried to get up. His legs buckled under him and he collapsed back on the floor.
"Then you are indeed very brave." Clarisse stared into the fire. She could not afford to show any negative emotions although inside she felt like crying. She mus be strong for everyone, not a child but the successful woman who could control business. Who was she kidding? Tears welled in her eyes, lit by the firelight.
Gharanth took a small sip. "Thank you. They would have killed you probably. I would never have forgiven myself. It seems that I have the role of the protector. I will take whatever is thrown at me for you."
"You can hear them from here and soon enough we will be traveling again. My father will send one of the new ships to get us. He trusts us to be strong until it arrives. I am afraid of a lot of things, so I'm not so brave after all."
Gharanth suddenly spun and grabbed Twilight, sheltering her with his body. From above a trapdoor opened and snakes fell onto them. Gharanth took th poisonous bites as he flamed them as they hit the ground. In a short time it was over and he slumped to the floor. "I need to rest and heal for a short while."
"It will be alright you know. The captain will get his new ship and you will get a promotion probably. I will be choosing how I travel and I would prefer to sail. Want to know a secret? I'm scared of flying, and the thought of planes crashing terrifies me."
"You were attacked then? I will stand guard and protect both you and your sister. I could do nothing less."
I think we will enter the second level soon. I hate to think what that contains. I guess we will just have to find out."
Maiko helped Koza to the door. "He is. You know what that means!" She began to grin. Takahiro rushed over to help Koza to a pile of straw over which he had thrown his cloak. "Please let me help you. I would like to be of service."
Maiko pointed to the barn. "We are almost there and you can rest then. I will stay with you and protect you. I wonder who else is in there?"
I've played it in the past and it's hilarious. I am no good at guessing who anyone is without seeing them unless they have a really distinctive voice.
"Well I'm relying on you as no one else can do it. I will be the dotty aunt who spoils them."
"For now I'll be a good sister. I want you to recover and marry a nice girl and give me nieces and nephews! You will enjoy that I'm sure."
"Thank you Koza, my brother. That sounds wonderful. I have family at last." Maiko kissed his cheek. "I have years of annoying my brother to catch up with."
"We can join the others and you will be safe." Maiko smiled. "I'm sorry I've caused you so much trouble."
"Maiko and Koza are also missing. What if they return and there is no one here? Your sister left of her own free will and I'm sure she is capable of looking after herself. Why would she have left without a sword? Even Maiko isn't stupid enough to do that."
"I am waiting for Maiko. She will come back and I need to show her that I am faithful. I have already hurt her but I refuse to desert her completely." Takahiro glared at them and lay back. ooc: Goodnight.
"This is only the first level. Things get harder from herein. I guess this level lulls you into a false sense of security. I'm not that easily tricked though. Stay slightly behind me. This could get rough. Now lets go down that corridor before the trap resets itself." ooc: Goodnight.
"Tomorrow is early enough. I am getting tired and the food is ready. Even I need to rest despite rumours that I'm a robot." Clarisse sat next to him and took the meat. Carving it up she offered it round with the fruit. She gave a good portion to Matt. "You need it for strength."
