Just because it's known that death comes to everyone doesn't necessarily mean people won't fear it. You could make good use of your time. Live a respectable life, hit the jackpot, marry your soulmate, etc. You could still be afraid to die. No one wants an ending unless they're suicidal. That's my take on it anyway.
