This happens to me constantly while listening to old bands. Musical/emotional association is common for me. For example, when I was 10-11, my mom would play a lot of Linkin Park in her house through the stereo's she had. I played tons of Pokemon and read childrens books at times when she was playing Linkin Park. Therefore every time I listen to Linkin Park I think of Pokemon Gold/Silver, and how fun it was in that house, etc. Another example is the crappy Twilight books. I used to listen to Nickelback (almost equally as horrible) while reading Twilight in high school (at time I did like NB a lot). I associated any song meanings and the sounds projected from Nickelback to the way I felt while reading Twilight. Incidentally and ironically, the songs are mostly about prostitutes, whores, money, love, etc... some of which make it funny to read Twilight while listening to them. It isn't an amazing thing and sometimes if the associated object/event/thing is tarnished to your integrity, the music will die a little bit as well. That happened to me with (+44) and Three Days Grace. I disliked portions of my past and those were some of my more commonly listened to bands at the time I had a rough time in my life. Now I dislike the bands quite a bit, even though I know they sound really well.

Went to this haunted forest out in a cornfield (it's a yearly event that attracts people from other states). It was put together extremely well. Very scary too. My girlfriend was practically cutting circulation to my hand/arm she was holding on so tight. o.O I wanted to dress in all black and take the 25 minute venture by myself and see if I could splinter cell the entire thing. I hope next year it doesn't change too much so I can do it then. They went as far as to get an actual chain saw (with the saw/chain part obviously taken off) and have a guy chase teenagers with it running and such. It was very interesting to say the least. Good thing I didn't see any Twilight references from the vampire area. <_< In particular, this one girl we were with was extremely jumpy and got scared easily. Sometimes the people in costumes (werewolves, zombies, Freddy's and Jason's) would exploit her fear and follow her or scare her even more-so than she was already. It was pretty entertaining although I felt slightly bad for her... xD Those darn werewolves. It was probably the best Halloween I've ever had, actually. Instead of the usual trick-or-treat, got to spend it with a lotta awesome people and go to a very convincing haunted forest.

^ Same here. There are three or four of them in the library alone (which is a lot of dispensers for the size library it is).
Being 14 and in a college is embarrassing enough, imo.
