The boss I found quite annoying, as it has loads of HP. Concentrate on the Champion Gear, it's quite cool, and useful as well. Basically, what AntiWeapon said. The trick is to kill the roots, which are annoying to kill, then the coffin will be stunned. Then you can go postal on him. Or it, for the matter.
