Half the fun in being evil is that you plan soooo many juicy things to do with your power. I should be a author.
But the fun part only would last only so long for me. Either I get bored really fast or I see it was just mindless destruction.
If there is no ultimate goal as to why I do something, either it be for good or bad. Then I don't really see a point in it.

Well if you destory everything, then you won't have much to do when you actually rule. Well unless you do some cliche villian thing where you create you own vision of the ideal world.
