You definately need some work. Use some more effects and work on your text. Try some tuts so you can get an idea of what you can do.
I read the Naruto manga (every single book) and compared it to the anime (I watched every single episode) and I thought that the anime was better, because I don't like reading and because the stryline was a bit more detailed, but that's my opinion.
