Yeah, because, y'know, the whole "being pregnant" thing isn't painful beyond imagination and in general a huge inconvenience. Best nine months ever.

Never once did I try to imply that it wasn't alive, I was just saying that I think that if there's no brain function, and the couple or mother in question feels that they cannot deal with the child birthing process, then an abortion isn't all that outlandish and is honestly more humane than what might be done later on. You gotta think realistically.

That is a completely half baked argument. It's still the same idea fundamentally by what you're saying. Regardless of that, the number of annual abortions worldwide is about 45 million. That comes out to about .65% of the human population if you're to add the number of abortions to the current estimation of the human population. That isn't going to exactly derail human genetic advancement. Not to mention that a large amount of abortions are by mothers in developing countries and with lower incomes. Combine that with a rather horrid world economy, and is it really that brutal to abort a child before they can even feel what's going on so that they don't have to be brought into a world in which their mother probably wouldn't be able to care for them all that adequately?

Biology/Biochemistry major here. While you are correct that taxonomically that would be a human, brain function doesn't start until around the 12th week of gestation. If the parents (in particular the mother) have a legitimate reason and catch it before that point, I see no reason why they shouldn't be allowed to have an abortion.

Also, callin' bullshit there. Humans are part of nature, like it or not. Therefore anything and everything we do is part of natural selection. Ever hear the peppered moth story? Genetic variation induced purely by industry.

Ergo it is murder to, say, pinch someone, killing thousands of skin cells containing countless genes and thousands of copies of the entire human genome? For future reference, genes are made of DNA.

I hate to use overused arguments, but you can't make such broad statements without considering all of the scenarios. i.e. rape and the like.

Take from that what you will.

Hating the kid is a bit much. His ""music" is... well, it's not music (gonna be that asshole and be the one to say his voice sucks), and he's a conceited little shit, but even so, actually harboring hatred for him is a bit much. I hate his music, I hate what he represents, but I don't hate him.

This is definitely a step up from your other tags; the effects are cool, and the text placement works in my opinion. That being said, lighting is kinda off when you look at the shadows, which isn't a terribly huge thing, but when you're dealing with OCD people like me, it will be noticed. Also, the lack of color variety makes it a little bland. If you work on those two things, this could be a really fantastic tag. Either way, I do see that you're improving. Well done.

Misty pretty much said it all. Smudging is classy as hell, and the colors are nice in my opinion. The stock is blended quite well, and the lighting works more or less perfectly. My only (minor) complaint is the bit of kinda dead purple-ish/pink-ish/whatever space to the right, but as Misty said, some text could fix that up. Easily the best I've seen from you.

Since either your or my internet is being stupid, I'll reply here.

About your parents, that's unacceptable. I know we've spoken about this on more than one occasion, but you should really talk to a counselor or someone in a similar position about that. I know you said you're not that good at talking to teachers, but it could help a great deal if you do. Schools won't put up with that crap.

As for your Capstone, you should get your friends in the class and any of your other classmates that feel the same way about the teacher to complain to whoever runs the program at your school. Since he's new, they'll be more likely to believe that he mucked up. On the matter of the work itself, what I try to do when I'm overwhelmed with work is get about an hour or so worth of work done, then relax for half an hour to an hour. Listen to some music, have a snack, stuff to keep you relaxed and motivated. This classy website can set a nice atmosphere:

And of course you know that I, along with the others, am always more than happy to talk to you about your troubles whenever. So in the midst of all this if you need help with anything, you know how to reach me. :]

Good luck, sis. I know you'll make me proud. You always do.

This is actually pretty damn nice, in my opinion. The border is eh, and I don't like the text, but the background and effects do look pretty good. I would say this is actually one of your better pieces. You're certainly improving, so keep it up.

The background's not bad; I rather like the effects you used for it, though it could use a bit more color diversity. However, you still need to learn how to blend your stocks a bit more effectively. I don't like the text, either. It's far too plain and kinda screws with what I think is the flow. Overall it's a bit underwhelming, but you do seem to be improving. Keep at it.
