It has been years since KH2 and ever since then the presence and knowledge of the keyblade has completely disappeared from the worlds. Well, first they used the keyblades in order to beat the heartless surrounding them. Then they proceeded to fight. I'm pretty sure that Riku really didn't bother to give it back since they were going to fight anyway, might as well try to even it out with them both having a keyblade to use.
