I don't watch the show - It personally started going downhill for me when they went to Hoenn, I'm not sure why. But - Yeah, the voice changes annoy me quite a bit. I'd say it's because of dub changes, y'know? The video games are my only source to Pokemon~
The "window opening" thing sounds like a tradition to 'allow the spirit to leave its confines'. I have personally never had any supernatural encountering that I can remember, but I do believe in the likes of them. Ghosts, spirits, whatever, I believe they exist to an extent.
