ShinRa is an electric company. Except, they have found a way to use the LifeStream as a source of power. I think it's called Mako, and they use Mako to power up all their SOLDIERs. Materia is the lifestream, condensed into littler crystals. It is impossible to soak in Matera, but Sephiroth's remnants somehow did it. Materia is placed in slots on weapons, powering them up. ShinRa's goal is to find the Promised Land, which is a place that is supposedly filled with unlimited Mako, or Lifestream. They have several Mako Reactors (things that draw Lifestream out of the planet and change it into its liquid form, Mako) around Gaia. To explain more about this chat. ShinRa thinks that The World That Never Was might be the key to the Promised Land. (*coughcough* They mistakened "a large source of power", aka, Kingdom Hearts, for lifestream power.) Saix overheard the conversation and quickly got rid of the Keyblade. How? He tossed it into some kind of ALMOST endless abyss that was conviently right beside him. Anyway. "Did you need me, Superior?" Saix asked, walking over to Xemnas.
"The problem is that Roxas is driven by curiousity. He is not grown and has no idea what he is up against," Saix hissed, advancing on Xaldin. His claymore was summoned, and blue berserk fire rippled down his entire form. "If we were to lose him, then our supply of hearts for Kingdom Hearts shall be cut down by millions. How would you like it if we got our hearts one million times slower?!"
