It can definitely hinder it. After all, you're watching something with your eyes 99% of the time. If something looks ugly and and unappealing to the eye then there's nothing wrong with going "I don't like this show" "Why is that?" "Because the visuals make me puke" Of course this is subjective from person to person, it's still a perfectly valid criticism. Animation is first and foremost a visual medium and thus a lot of weight should be put on the visual aspect of it. For example I cannot STAND watching this show when it was on. Why? Because it's NEON ****ING EVERYTHING COLOUR PALETTE as seen above was BLINDING I honestly believe you could have a seizure looking at this still image

In his defense there's nothing wrong with not liking a visual medium based on how it looks. Presentation is a large part of an animated cartoon and ugly character designs or aesthetically unpleasing **** can be turn offs to certain people.

Vivid said he didn't wanna watch Bebop We asked why He didn't give us an answer and said "just because" Obviously there's a reason because not wanting to watch a show goes beyond "just because" there's obviously something turning him off from the show and I think it's reasonable that people who enjoy the show would like to know what it is so that they can atleast... A) Refute whatever claim the person may make about the shoe B) Have an understanding of why the person does not like the show or not want to

Oh sweet mother of god Did you tune into Adult Swim ONCE during that time? No It's more like an American saying "Steak? What the **** is steak?" It's not even a matter of Cowboy Bebop being "THE GREATEST ANIMU EVEEEEEEEEER" or any of that **** It's more that you haven't watched something that's literally aired over and over and over again for the last 13 years. It's like not watching The Simpsons, you don't have to be a fan of it, but for gods sake it's the ****ing Simpsons. How could you have NOT watched something that's been syndicated that much?
