A wisp of warm steamy light encircled Valerie, weakly guiding her to a black shiny rock. It looked more like a beetle's black shell, but that didn't make it any weaker. There were fine lines that guided to the weakest point of it, the middle. The small wisp of a voice hit Valerie's ears. Please free me...
Valdis was becoming enraged, going into a frenzy that grew the more Valerie had gotten closer to her core. Ear splitting shrieks and infernos mimicking magma flows filled her breath. She tried to do something, anything to stop the pain.

Still, Valdis swallowed Valerie whole, the protect spell keeping the human safe. It was nothing but darkness within the great pheonix, not a light anywhere. Not a sound, you couldn't even hear the outside.
Meanwhile, Valdis was hacking, trying to cough up the wretched human to properly chew her, but it was no use.

The Blizzard spell dissipated from the inferno of Valdis's body. However, the Thunder spell and Blitzball did cause her to slightly flinch. You have to stop... With a now very real pain, the great Pheonix held back a bit, landing on the ground. She glared at the humans, through narrowed slits that showed real anger.

Valdis shrugged, pecking out the heart of the human, swallowing it with pleasure. Whatever was left of the fading body she dropped to the bonfire below. She swooped down, looking for another poor soul, setting herself ablaze to find it easier.

Valdis still dove, snatching up one unlucky soul that didn't run or fight back quickly enough. With a loud scree, she surveyed the area. Unsure of the next part of the plan, she examined the human in her large talons.

Valdis stretched herself to half her normal height. "Would Master like to ride upon me and have an aerial advantage? Or would you rather surprise them through the dark corridors?" Her wings outstretched, she could quickly attack after hefting herself into the air with 5 powerful strokes.

Valdis nodded, curling around Gexln in a protective circle. The fight before took away some power, but the darkness would allow some healing to follow. She had fluffed up her feathers for Gexln to lie down in utmost comfort.

Valdis nodded. "Yes, Master. You are very right, as always." She looked at the night, noticing there was no moon. It was dark, clouds blocking away the moon and stars. She relished in it, preening her plumage. "Would Master like to rest before an attack?"

Valdis landed before Gexln, weakly bowing her head in shame. "I am sorry master, I could not kill them, there was something else stopping me instead. I do not know why. A voice, human." She bitterly kept herself low and as small as she possibly could, to not receive any wrath from Gexln.

Valdis finished her tornado, landing somewhere high up to look down on the tiny humans. Clicking thoughtfully with only her eyes blazing now, she studied the dirty glass that the melted sand cools down to. What do I do... What do I do... You let them go... she paused, taken aback by this new voice within her head, looking down once more to the puny humans. Just let them go... she sneered, but after a large gust of wind from her wings, in order to blow up sand and the humans, she retreated to the main islands.

Valdis was pleased two hearts readily opened themselves for tasting, so she swooped low to the group, wings alight, to try and burn them into submission. Lifting up into the sir with more powerful strokes, she let out a huge gush of flame, encasing them in a fire tornado. Even the sand under their feet was bubbling, melting at the oppressive heat.
