The Last Wish by Andrzej Sapkowski. It is my second read through now.

If you haven't played the games...don't do it yet! While they are not exactly connected, the games do draw off the books heavily as "canon", which are just fantastic. Most of them have been officially translated now (and the others being worked on now) and I promise you the ride and wait is well worth it. You can really understand the bonds between thew characters or even the characters themselves reading the books. Plus, Ciri and Geralt just kicks major butt in the books! Besides the story and content, the writing is very good. Andrzej is incredibly talented and made a masterpiece.

I'd hate to appear as someone just salty, but that ending was just out there crazy bad. It feels like he was pressured to do a Naruto-esque ending or just wanted to end it because he didn't like his own story anymore. I mean even the characters were out of key, and some of the decisions were incredibly ignorant and kind of distasteful. Oh well I suppose. I just kept track of it lately, as it went downhill several years ago so the loss isn't too much for me as a reader.

It could work, so long as they learned from some of the failures of the Kingsglaive movie. To make a movie just to make it would be really stupid on their part. They have to really think about the story and direction, or we just get something to look at that contradicts the games too much.

I am a bit confused on something...I thought the browser game was the mobile game? Why are they both called Unchained X? And why not release the first one for people?

(looking at the Unchained code, I saw the Fairy Stars thing too. I wonder what it is.)

A bit late to this thread but I hope that is okay?

Anyways, to be honest, I don't really mind. If a character is relatable to me, they just are. I don't need representation of a certain gender or skin color or faith. I get it a lot from women that "as a woman I should want more women in things" and of course I do, but not like it is typically done, as I don't believe in adding something just to please the crowds or giving something to someone just because. That kind of makes me angry because I know most of them think "Oh, we have to have a woman/etc in this (instead) or we will get backlash".

I think it is wrong to say people who disagree with the need for representation are in denial, too. It cheapens their opinion at the expense of yours*, which in the end solves nothing.

Of course this gets announced. I finally got my PS4 in June. I wonder if Newegg will let me return it if I bought the 3yr warranty...well, time to find out! lol

I'm kind of disappointed they didn't make any changes so that it could at least play PS3 digital content.

    Thread

    Hello!

    Hello fellow KH fans!

I have been a fan of this series since KH1 was released (I think I was nine if it came out in '02). I'm not really used to forums or intro threads, but I guess I'll just say this:

Favorite game in the series is: Kingdom Hearts 1 (followed closely by BbS)
Favorite characters are: Aqua & Sora
Favorite World: Pride Rock (because I dreamed of it since KH1)
Favorite Keyblade: Kingdom Key (or KH1 Ultima)

and then finish with "nice to meet you all"! :)

It is incredible how far this patch has come, especially after the release of 1.5. I thought it would be long since abandoned but wow! It is very much playable!

    EDIT

I don't know much about modding or extracting, but if there is anything I could do to help, just say the word and I'll try. :)

    EDIT 2

Oh, I don't know if these bugs or whatnot have been reported or fixed yet, but here's what I've encountered so far:

    • a good portion of the cutscene audio plays faster than it is supposed to, leaving long pauses of silence as the models "speak". Text usually springs up over the screen saying things like "Sora got X" or whatnot.
    • Odd text in worlds like Traverse Town, Colosseum, Deep Jungle.
    • Treasure chest text issues + if the occasional freeze when opening them
    • Agrabah text loop after beating Jafar (while in Aladdin's house). It says something like "oh, do you want to ride the carpet?" in the bottom left corner.
    • After meeting Donald and Goofy in Traverse Town, you talk with Leon, Aerith and Yuffie. After they give you their items it loops the text, making progress impossible (just like in Agrabah).
    • In Halloweentown, after you get the memory and go through the tomb, the game gets stuck on a black screen.
    • In Hallow Bastion, the lifts do not show up and do not properly work elsewhere. You cannot see the bubbles and the turn tables in the library do not operate/turn even if you hear it moving. There is messed up text too, mostly from Beast.

I have a feeling we are going to see a lot more room to explore than any of the previous titles or that of Dragon Age: Inquisition....at least I hope so. I've been waiting for this game since ME3. The footage they released shows that they have far more done they they let on earlier, too, which means a definite 2017 release.
