That shouldn't happen at all. If view>character encoding> Japanese Shift_JIS doesnt work, it will NEVER WORK. Translations, add-ons, and plug-ins of language encoding depend on the browsers character encoding. Mozilla should always work. One problem is that people switch from tab to tab, DON'T. Sometimes, you don't even need to encode at all (say for instance, a website; home). It all depends on the URL. Give me the url, and i will see if it works on mine. If it doesn't, give up; sometimes you cant win them all.
