Nah she did commit. In the anime she's seen on the top of a building in what looks like funeral clothes, plus in interviews with Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata they said that she probably jumped off a builing an died when she found out light was dead. And she does keep on saying that she'd die for him or couldn't live without him, No the anime follows the manga exactly, even all the shots and frames are the same as the panels in the manga. It just made lights death more dramatic by making him run round a bit before death in a different warehouse.
