Maybe Aqua abandoned the armor.
I dunno older Sora did appear in a scene that suggests that it is just a normal animation. If all of what happened during BBS is on that letter Mickey sent he either has a lot of paper used, or writes incredibly small.
Wonder if Sora will appear in a cutscene or if Destiny Islands will again become the tutorial stage?
Guess Sora is a whole lot more special than we believed.

God I hope to play as Mickey. You know if Star Seeker here becomes some kind of ultimate keyblade or something I'm gonna make a big deal about how it's not as powerful in KH2.
