already stated that they have had keychains in the recent shots/vids and basing off of my theory, that would mean that the reason why Sora and co's keyblades have chains on them because they were born masters/predestined to be a keyblade master, well, thats what I think anyway :P its not correct, im almost positive of that, but we will all find out in January :P
which is exactly what I thought of it :P someone on KHI basically asked me if I thought if having no keychain also effects the way you summon your keyblade, since "they summon their keyblades differently" to which I replied what are your thoughts on this?
Terra's, maybe, but not all of them look like that, Aqua's and Ven's look like keyblades, or at least to me they do :P
Ok, I don't know if anyone here mentioned this before or not, but this is my theory about the keychains (someone tell me if somebody else posted anything like this before, cause then I can't say its my theory if someone else thought of it first) I have a theory about the absence of keychains. In the concept trailer and for a period of time Terra, Aqua, and Ven did not have keychains on their keyblades, and now, in some screenshots, they do. We also recently found out the existence of Master Erauqs, their master, and he has a keychain on his keyblade. So my theory is that when you are an apprentice, you do not have a keychain, or artificial keyblades with no chains, and after you take and pass the Master exams, you get a real keyblade/a keyblade with a chain. And extra information on this so that nobody brings up Vanitas, maybe Master Xehanort's "mistake" was passing him through the exams even though he is "a monster of darkness", therefore he is a "keyblade wielder of the dark" as I call him. Discuss away!
