What I think is that Sora's parents died when he was really young. Someone--a friend of Sora's parents--probably took him to Destiny Islands for safe keeping. That might've happened to Riku's parents also. Maybe Ansem killed both their parents--knowing that they were going to be keyblade wielders and fight him in the ending. That's only what I think. I don't think I might be right, though...
What I think is that Sora has a romantic interest towards Kairi--just like what tummer said. He has feelings for his other friends too, but he doesn't like--you know--like them in romantic ways. Sora thinks Riku is his friend--even when he betrayed him at first.
May I ask--how exactly could Sora's Heartless reunite with Kairi, Donald, and Goofy? Sorry that this is off topic, but...
