Been a while since I've posted here: Here's from a night out a few months ago: Spoiler Then here is my real face: Spoiler
All this is a real shame, and the loss of UFC didn't help. THQ have some great IP's and assets. If THQ does go under I hope that Square Enix end up picking up some of the developers. Square are really on the up with their western development and some of THQ's properties would be a good fit with the Eidos stuff.
...Watcha Playin'?
Because David Cage is soooo good at mature content in games. Oh I'm badly injured and mentally broken from trying to find my son. LETS HAVE SEX. While yes, "mature" content is games is pretty poor, as mature seems to amount to blood and swearing. Much like the phase comic books went into in the 80's. But it's kinda rich coming from a man who can barely create a good mature story himself. Heavy Rain was a plot-holed filled mess which fell apart at the end. David Cage to me comes across as a man who wanted to make films, couldn't. So he somehow ending up making games and resents it. But that doesn't stop the fact that Cage has some points. Diversity in games needs to happen, but it's not because it needs to grow up. It's because people need to be willing to take risks and making games needs to be cheaper. Games are so expensive already that companies go under as soon as the game is complete. Team Bondi closed down despite the fact LA Noire was a success. Risks doesn't mean just mean a different kind of story. it's about pushing the envelope of what makes a game a game. Embedding story into gameplay and telling a story that can only be told in a game. David Cage is just making bad movies with quick time events. I'm holding out for Beyond: Two Souls to be good, but he needs to stop being so preachy.
Yes, better lines. I've been looking forward to this reboot since they've first announced it. Ninja Theory are great at telling stories and have great animation, it also seems that Capcom are working on the combat as it isn't Ninja Theory's strongest element. So if all goes to plan it should be great.
You discover Xehanort is Kingdom Hearts, Ha ha! I must say I love the word Xehanortganization. May have to use it for now on.
Oh I know alcohol and caffeine are. It's a classification thing, just like how some illegal drugs are classed as being worse than others. Paracetamol is a drug but I wouldn't put it in the same light as Cocaine.
I meant that, knowing Nomura he will throw another curveball to the story that is Xehanort. I agree that his story is interesting, especially Master Xehanort. But you have to admit, it doesn't need to be as complex as it is. I get his background. But there are many people that are still confused by it, and each game keeps on adding to that complexity. So those people are getting more and more confused.
^ This Cigarette a drug? I guess it technically is, as it does affect your bodily functions and mostly fits into the definition of a drug. But it's a drug in the same way alcohol and caffeine is. I personally wouldn't class cigarettes in the same light as what most people consider bad drugs to be.
I only have 5 after clearing the game.
I got to level 37 for my Sith Agent, so hopefully I can complete the story and not reach the 50 limit. As that will be the only reason I'll play the game again.
That's exactly what I thought. Odd that they gave Link pretty much all of his skills/abilities but only gave Cloud 2 or 3. But oh well. Also kinda odd that Z-targeting was a skill for Link, that's a game mechanic that's in many games these days. Hardly unique to him or worth mentioning and making it the killer thing that made him win in the end. Still it was an enjoyable video and is all just a bit of fun, though the sprites they used to use were better. It was obvious Link was going to win, Screwattack love their retro stuff, and people were going to moan regardless. So might as well make the the one were people will moan the least, win.
It took me about 25 hours. I spent quite a bit of time doing dream eater stuff. But most of the time it was me just going through the game.
Oh there we go, it's 5. I should have completed it on Proud, then I would have seen the secret ending.
God knows where it'll go, the story of Xehanort is just getting more and more pointlessly complex. As for Young Xehanort, it was mentioned that when time travelling you can't change the events of the past. So technically the older Xehanort can't corrupt his younger self as that will change his past/future (which is technically a plothole as going in the past is technically changing the past anyway). He went back in time so that all the forms of Xehanort can make it to the same point in time and make the true Organisation XIII. (but isn't that in itself changing the past, by him pushing his past selves into meeting at the end of KH:DDD, god this time travelling thing was confusing)
The only thing I can tell is that the harder the difficulty the less trophies you need to get the secret ending. In Normal you need 7, Proud I think is 3 and Critical 0. I'm not 100% on those numbers but that seems to be the jist of it. Also there are trophies for beating the game on Proud and Critical.
I'm just going to leave this here.
Best Alcoholic.
I see the logic in Wada's statement. They want to concentrate on improving their future rather than rely too heavily on nostalgia. Which is something I can get behind. I would rather see an amazing new game rather than a remake of a classic. It's good to see that Square in Japan since the takeover of Eidos are incorporating more Western style techniques. XIII-2 was the first game they ever focus tested and make heavy use of community feedback. Like that was mentioned before, they receive such praise in Japan that they never had any reason to listen to other people. But the kick in the teeth from the West is just what they needed. So if you ask me Square are heading in the right direction, just a shame it took them a whole generation to get to this point.
I'll love to see a Sequel to Dragons Dogma. Despite it's flaws I loved the game and mechanically it has so much promise. Add in co-op, a better more worthwhile story, give me more reason to explore and fix some of the kinks and you'll have a fantastic game. It would be a waste to just forget about what they've done here. If anything it's an experiment into what Capcom can do in the future with more Western style RPG's. Even if it's a spiritual successor to Dragons Dogma they are heading in the right direction with it. So it's good to see they aren't going to abandon the franchise.
