Did you, did you really. You came so far! But in the end, it doesn't even matter.
Lucky duck. I am terrible at labs. I just have a hard time being forced to work with people for school stuff. And it didn't help that my group didn't care for the instructions and left me to figure out everything. They're lucky that I wanted a good grade. Personally, I say it's better to just take the class in person. I've never been good in online classes, and I feel it's better that with all that goes into Astronomy, it's better learn it in lecture form.
I've gone on record of not being a fan of the Star Wars franchise. I recognize the original trilogy as good films, and I don't have the disdain most people have for the prequels. It's really those rabid fans that keep me from wanting to embrace the franchise. To better explain this, watch The People vs George Lucas, and you see both the good and the very, very bad things about the fandom. But, I have to say, I like The Force Awakens. I liked it a lot. Saw it Friday and then again on Saturday with a friend and his family. Still not a franchise fan, but I'm a fan of the film. A lot of the great moments came from the new characters. Seeing how they interacted with each other and with the world around felt real. They even seem to have a lot of depth in the movie, even though looking back on it, on paper, they are kinda two dimensional. And I can appreciate that a lot of the fan service was made to feel genuine in the film. I say feel, because in reality, they're put their to please those rabid fans. I can at least admire the effort of making those moments feel organic. However, there were two things in the film that were paying fan service that really slowed down the film and made me go "okay, I get it, you're trying to make people happy; can we get back to the story now, please". Spoiler The first time was with a lot of the stuff with The Millennium Falcon and Han. It felt like it was paying a lot of fan service that really slowed the movie down. The second time was in this film's version of the cantina scene. There was at least some effort to keep the story going, but it was just so obvious that it was there because it's such a memorable scene in a New Hope. I honestly feel that they could've cut these scenes shorter, making time to really focus on the new characters are adding more dimension to the story. But, it didn't ruin the movie for me. It just messed up the pacing. And I honestly feel that there is a subtext to Kylo Ren that is a giant middle finger to those rabid fans. Only one other person I've talked to about it caught onto that as well. If that subtext was on purpose, I would have much more love for this film. The Force Awakens is kind of a safe film, and that's a good and bad thing. It's good because it's setting up the architecture for a new story and setting up a lot of possibilities. The downside of that is that it's obviously being safe to please the rabid fans instead of taking risks and doing something new. Now, I'm really looking forward to Episode 8, which will have a director that really understand moral ambiguity and can get a lot of dimension out of the characters, which is what this franchise really needs.
Yes, yes it is. I had to take a science integrated with a lab class, and I really like Astronomy. However, it turns out that this was a class most people take because it's easy and to get one of their science/lab credits out of the way. It was more dealing with the known solar system (planets, moons, sun, asteroids, etc.), but the main focus was on the planets.
Made the wise decision to leave business and go back into teaching. Learning about how business worked was soul sucking. The Planets - A Education Psychology - B (should be been a lot worse) Integrating Technology with Teaching - A+ (I honestly had no idea what I was doing because I had terrible instructors) Field Experience 1 - A Fundamentals of Elementary Mathmatics 1 - A

At least we didn't get that whole trailer for a trailer that they love to do.
When you realize that there are only two weeks left in the semester and you haven't learned anything.
i just got back to a con that was happening in Albequerque. There were two voice actresses from Madoka Magica as special guests and I was doing a panel involvg the third film, Rebellion. So, I decided to get their autographs on Saturday since I wouldn't have time on Sunday. Flash forward to this morning, where I started setting up for my panel. There was no projector in the room, so much of the time was spent finding that. I had been advertising it around all weekend to people, many of which said they were interested. Only one guy showed up for the panel. And outside of the room, in the lobby area, the voice actresses are doing a voice acting panel. Not the best of situations. Someone from staff was helping me set up the projector, which was projecting the film's poster. I then hear Mami's actress yell "oh my god, is that Madoka?! What panel is that?" So, I step out of the room and told them about what my panel was all about, exploring storytelling, characters, themes, all that good stuff. It felt really cool to be acknowledged by the voice actors that actually worked on what I was talking about, and they seemed to be interested in it. I was even tempted to invite them to come watch it, but they had autographs afterwards. So, it was me showing the presentation to one guy and we chatted for the rest of the time. So, long story short, what could've been one of the lowest points of the weekend became a high point of this passed year.
And in a way, that makes sense. It's good to premiere your Christmas episodes early, so most people get a chance to see them, and it's something...
Then you make up random excuses just to hang out there.
I have no idea what these shows are, so some stuff I might say might not apply. Veteren's Day isn't observed the same way that that Independence...
