Growing up, I always knew when a family pet had fleas because they would always seek me out, too. Went through different flea deterrent/killers. Flea collars and flea shampoo helped the dogs temporarily, but not enough to keep fleas from being a constant problem in warmer months. Eventually, the dogs would just be treated with Frontline/PetArmor and that has always kept them from getting flea infested (and passing it on to me) in the first place. Topical treatments can be pricey and you have to pay attention to animal weight when getting what you need, but it holds for a month and it has really worked for my family pets (but they were all mostly indoor pets, not sure if it is just as effective for outdoor pets). Of course, you'll still have to deal with the fleas you've already been exposed to. As was said, after treating the animals, make sure to clean house as well as you can.

The main habits I've dealt with head-on have been food related. The biggest was that I grew up constantly drinking soda. I would drink it with every meal (except when I got school milk with my lunches) and every time I was thirsty (which would add up to at least 4 glasses on average in a day). This went on all the way through high school and I am totally surprised I wasn't continually dealing with dehydration. But one day I decided I was not going to drink soda on a constant basis anymore so I quit cold turkey. Probably not necessarily the best method, but it was helpful to me in this case. I stopped buying soda to keep in my fridge and I never ordered it when I went out to eat. Pretty much any time I would have gotten a soda, I substituted it for water. It was tough at first, I would get headaches from lack of caffeine/sugar, but I would just tough through it. Only on occasion I would drink something that had flavor to it, like sweet tea or juice, to break the monotony of water (because I didn't want to transition from always drinking one sugary drink to the next, and I've never liked flavored water). A month or two down the road and I was totally hooked on drinking mainly water. Now I can have that occasional soda or sugary drink and walk away after one glass with no problems (I even find it difficult to finish an individual can/bottle nowadays in one sitting, which is good because they're always more than one serving anyway). I didn't get any more headaches, I felt I had more energy (was so dependent on soda back in the day that I could fall right to sleep even after chugging a couple cups of it), and I think I did a huge favor to my teeth and digestive system after that.

Along with drinking soda, I have always been a big eater, too. Always snacking (especially when bored) and eating meals that were at least twice the recommended serving every time. Cutting back on food consumption is something I started around the time I stopped drinking soda and is still something I've been trying to get a handle on for years. Though I've never really dealt with weight issues, I always thought having a healthier lifestyle would be more beneficial in the long run. I started keeping like a food journal on a daily basis. I'd write down the food I ate, how many servings, and the total calories consumed each meal/snack. At first, this is all I was doing...writing stuff down, no real set goals, just observing the patterns. Surprisingly, I found that just writing down this stuff actually changed my eating habits without my having set conscious goals yet. I would eat smaller portions during meals, fewer snacks during the day, and the type of snacks would end up being healthier choices. Unfortunately, I have dropped the journaling habit and taken it back up again several times since I've started and that lack of continual self-check has really hindered my progress over the years.

I know the biggest thing that would help (and I recommend to others) is having someone else hold you accountable. I've always been pretty self reliant and I never like asking others for help (because I feel like it would be a hindrance to them) and so I've yet to actually step out of my comfort zone and get outside help (probably another habit I should work on xP). But if you can find someone who is around you enough to encourage/remind you of what you should(n't) be doing, ask them for help. Even better, see if they have something they need/want to be held accountable for because it would increase the chance of you both being consistent in helping each other out since both of you would want to benefit from each other's help instead of it just turning into a one-sided nagging type deal.

I found that video cringe-worthy whenever the person recording honked. I wouldn't really agree to say their honking was justifiable for the most part...

Like that "Trifecta" bit was the worst. Of course the silver car is going to brake as soon as they realize the SUV wasn't going to get in the turn lane first. (The way I see it, it's better to be in the habit of braking quickly and risking a rearending than chance trying to drift around the side and risk getting hit by oncoming traffic in instances where you have to react quickly.) But I got upset with the recorder honking, because it clearly threw off the two silver car drivers and they almost hit each other because the recorder couldn't wait another two seconds for them to work it out between themselves. A lot of those instances seemed to be a lack of patience on the recorder's part. That and honking in largely trafficked areas doesn't help because they could be distracting other drivers not even involved.

Like what was said in earlier posts, honking after-the-fact generally doesn't make a bit of difference. Either the person clearly knew what they were doing and doesn't care or it was a (possibly one-off) mistake (and they already realized it by almost getting in an accident or will never understand why they were being honked at because they weren't paying close enough attention). Sometimes we are just "tourists" and honking is not going to magically inform us which specific fault we may be making in an unfamiliar environment. (I mean, what city is crazy enough to have a 5+ way intersection?! That ain't normal! xP) People can make mistakes, don't fluster them and make it worse.

I think I've honked maybe three times since I started driving like ten years ago (shh, I'm old). One of those was by accident because it was 5am and I was turning my steering wheel pretty hastily before pulling out of a gas station lot (so glad it was done in front of a cop fueling his patrol car... -_-). And the only other time I really remember was just warning a backing up truck with a trailer hitched, because they couldn't see me coming. Even then, I would've been okay to stop and wait it out if I hadn't been impatient at that time.

Basically, I think it really comes down to patience and awareness. I've called plenty of other drivers "jerks" under my breath and said sarcastic "thanks" in many instances. But if I honked, yelled, or flipped the bird (because a lot of the time those things mean the same thing) at every person I've ever crossed who couldn't follow basic road rules, in at least what seems a timely manner to me...my steering wheel, voice, and fingers would all probably be broken. I always keep my distance when I can and pray that karma only punishes those who are intentionally being terrible drivers.

tl;dr: I think honking is generally a bad communication tool. (Not allowed to voice an opposing opinion on Youtube video so it kinda went here...)

Actually, Vic wrote "Nothing I Won't Give" based on Full Metal Alchemist. He wanted Aaron(?), the kid who was Al's first English VA, to sing too, but Aaron claimed not to be a good singer or something like that. I think there's one called "Brother" based on the same premise.

If you're still looking for opinions...
It was about the time the first movie came out that I read the books for the first and only time (borrowed the books from a coworker and finished them all in about four evenings). I heard all the hype and I figured I'd at least have a background if I felt the need to defend/bash the series (which is the same reason I tortured myself through Twilight *shudders*). The books were okay. Not outstanding, not horrible. Felt like a lot of the deaths were glossed over. Understandable when you're reading the main character's POV, but it left me feeling like not much happened and the direness of the situation got a little shafted (unless you invest all/most your empathy in Katniss, which is kinda forced on you since the other characters aren't shown too much background/development). One of those series that I am not upset that I read it, but I don't plan on reading them again any time soon.

Good try against the E4. Should do okay with a little more leveling (or not getting jipped on the KO/luck deal). Best of luck on the next attempt!

I prefer this game. Not quite as challenging, but at least there is some humor to alleviate any frustration it could cause:

hahannuh! No idea if you remember me, but I remember you! I've been popping in KHV for the last few months...still miss the active '06-'07 crew around here though. Twilightsown, Rufus, RogueAngel, HK, etc. Good times. Good (okay, sometimes awful) Spamming and RPing. ^^
