Wonder what the dog's reaction was when it met Goofy.
I agree, it is a nice stance for her to take, given the culture she lives in. I hate how people think that if you are single and/or never married that you can't be happy by yourself. Single men always remain "bachelors" and yet when a woman hits a certain point in her life she is then considered a "spinster" instead of a "bachelorette". At this point in my life, I don't see myself as anything but single. If I find someone down the line, fine, but I'm not going to hinge my whole life on finding someone to "complete me" just because society thinks it weird for someone to grow old without a spouse. I'm happy with myself and I enjoy the company of current family/friends. I don't need romance to know what love is.
I laughed too hard at that. (Mainly because I'm a big fan of old TV sitcoms.)
Friendship is overrated. Everyone knows you keep enemies closer (that way you have no remorse when you smack 'em around).
I have to find the book these people follow when it comes to making "music". I figure some of the points are: -Autotune -Star a preteen girl -Preteens are allowed to drive -Have state-the-obvious lyrics -Repeat same lyrics continually -Have a random black rapper in the middle of the song What has the music world come to?
I never have that problem with my name. I do forget my age, though. When you don't have "real deal" birthday parties anymore and they're not a special year (16th, 18th, 21st), they just tend to run together after awhile. I had to subtract years to confirm how old I turned today.
They did have a show or something about such a disorder. One lady would eat powdered laundry detergent and another couldn't help but eat toilet paper. It seems so weird to those of us who don't have a similar disorder, but so normal to them (as is the case for many disorders).
All I wanted to do-was play my guitar and sing.
I've never read before going to bed in order to lull myself to sleep. Quite the opposite, I'd stay up later in order to read. I know, I'm weird.
Real men are women. >> <<
Got news for you, that doesn't happen with just children. I think it's more annoying when it is grown college students screaming bloody murder for no reason.
I have the complete series on DVD. Do I remember them? I'd like to think so.
I'd have to say that the biggest problem I have with this thread is that it is too general. To say that an Atheist knows God better than ANY religious-following person would be inaccurate in my opinion. It all depends on the individual person. Yes, there are those who feel obligated to follow what is "right" out of fear of punishment (in this life, the afterlife, or in another life). But I don't think everyone who believes in God (and practices a religion) follows a moral code just because it is written in the Bible. I live a morally good life, and I am Christian (brought up in a Protestant home). I learned the lessons every child does about God and the Bible, I didn't always comprehend them. It was when I grew older that I could look at those lessons and see meaning in them, both the meanings taught to me and my own conclusions found after much meditation. I do believe in Heaven and Hell, with Heaven being the reward and Hell the punishment after death. But really, those places are not what I focus on. I'm all about life here and now. I want to live a good life with few regrets so as to have a better enjoyment of it and help others enjoy life. The fact that God's laws support the decisions in my life just further fulfills that enjoyment of life at a deeper level. And really, no one can fully know God; A religious person because of their bias, an Atheist because of their objectivity (you have to be exposed to the supernatural aspect of God in some way, you can't just observe him from the sidelines).
I'm blond and I totally get sick of the "dumb blond" jokes. (I hate it even more because "dumb blonds" are usually pictured as female, too.) One of the many reasons I HATE Glee, they make the blond chick (Brittany) brain-dead, can't stand her. I never really hear about brown/brunettes being boring, but whenever someone says anything about "gingers" I wonder how stupid people have become to come up with such utter crap. Luckily, I never have been teased personally, it has all been generalizations (like characters in entertainment) and mentions. In fact, I think I'm the furthest away from ever being considered a dumb blond (major nerd here). Stereotypes in general just seem pointless to me. Who ever enjoys being criticized/teased because of what they were born with/as?
I don't think the world will end. But a lot could happen that year:
I keep thinking how people would probably absolutely love this song if one of the currently popular singers did it. I mean, it isn't the best, but I don't think attacking Black for it is reasonable (maybe if she were singing about something totally offensive...).
Exactly. (Honestly, I haven't even really watched the '99 version, a couple scenes/songs was enough.)
I've heard about the Heart Attack Grill a few times from the Food Network. The burgers looked pretty good, but when they showed the vat of lard used to cook them, that turned me off. Can't even remember the calorie count for the different bypasses (but no doubt a few days worth of calories each). I hate that America has such a problem with overweightness/obesity and yet places like this pretty much encourage it. Fast food might be convenient, but that doesn't make it a good choice overall. Garbage in, garbage out people!
